First of All, we would like to thank all our buyers and bidders and all that attended our sale last year and made it a great success! New this year, we are selling the bulls off the farm Via Private treaty. We have been raising purebred Gelbvieh for 24 years now and are excited for the future of the breed and the growth of the industry. The past 4 years we have teamed up with Bullseye Feeds to feed our bulls with a more wholistic approach focusing on overall herd health and utilizing on farm products as much as possible! Along with there help we are targeting a 3.5lb/day gain over a longer amount of time rather than the Bull Test approach. We feed our bulls a high fiber, high roughage, total mixed ration of hay, silage, and ground grain along with a high concentrated mineral pack designed for the specific ration and pen of bulls! We feel that growing our bulls out this way will ensure the highest rate of success and longevity of our Bulls! The focus of our herd starts with the Mother cow! We do our best to raise and maintain the highest quality females that we can in our operation. You will quickly realize that correct structure, excellent udders, moderate cow size, good temperament and overall production are our measuring stick of who stays and who goes! We aim to replace 40 females every year while maintaining a herd of 160 Females to calve each year. The other ½ of the puzzle is the working Herdsires! We do our best to source the highest quality Herd Bulls as we need. Our focus is moderate BW to Explosive growth while maintaining structural correctness, excellent Phenotype, backed by a dam with maternal

Private Treaty Terms 1. All bulls will have individual starting prices. 2. Bulls will be available for selection starting Jan 15th. 3. Once a bull is selected, you agree to buy the selected bull for the set price as long as no one else selects that same bull before Feb 26th,2024 @ 12 noon. 4. If another customer selects a bull that has already been selected, at that exact time we contact the previous customer and start the bid up process. 5. Once the bidding stops, the customer that won the bid now agrees to purchase the bull at agreed price. 6. This process can repeat as many times as needed until Feb 26th, 2024 @ 12 noon. 7. Once a Bull is selected at an agreed or posted price a $1500 deposit is required. No cheques will be cashed until after you have won the bid on a bull or unless you back out on a bull selection agreement, without being outbid. 8. Balance will be due on Feb 26th following the completion of the bull selection process. 9. After February 26th, 2024 @12 noon all remaining bulls will be sold on a first come first serve basis at posted prices. .

Sight Unseen Purchase Program: If you are unable to attend the sale but are interested in Bulls, give Roger or Kirk a call and they will personally go over the bulls and your program and recommend the bulls that would meet your needs. They will represent you in a professional and confidential manner, or you can choose to bid online through DLMS. Bull Development & Delivery: Bulls that you chose to return to farm will continue to be developed an their current ration, and can be picked up at the buyers convenience, prior to April 1st, 2024. All bulls left at foursquare Farms after the last day of February Must take the Extended Breeding Season Warranty Bulls can be developed at the farm for free until April 1st. After that date there will be a $5/day charge. Bulls will be delivered for free within 200 miles and delivered anywhere beyond at a minimal cost. There will be a $50 discount if bulls picked up before March 1

Conditions • Bull has passed a semen evaluation by a licensed veterinarian prior to the sale. • Bull is structurally sound and capable of breeding cows naturally. • Bull can be handled using proper handling techniques. ( no pick-ups, neighbors’ dogs or cousins from the city) • Fleshing ability - within 9 months ofter breeding season your bull should have recovered the weight loss and be in a reasonable, healthy condition with a good quality forage diet. If the conditions of the guarantee are not achieved we will do one of the four things.: • Repace the bull with one of equal value (most practical during or before breeding season) • Replace the bu and adjust the value agreed upon ( most practical during or before breeding season) • Take back or ship the bull and credit will be given to you for the selection of another bull the following year (most practical after breeding season) • Take back or ship the bul and credit will be given to you for the selection of another bull the following year ( most practical after breeding season) – After 1 breeding season - 75% of the purchase price. – Year 2 - 50% of the purchase price – Year 3 - 25% of the purchase price Foursquare Farms is not responsible for anything up and above the purchase price of the bull.

Foursquare will warranty your bull and carry all risk. In our opinion, using only mortality insurance is money out the window with little or no value because 96% of bull problems are injury, not death. We will make cash settlement or service your needs with another bull, whichever you choose. Should you have any problem with a bull, contact Roger at 403.875.8418 and we will handle the problem immediately. Your veterinarian and yourself will fill out a claim form provided by Foursquare and that is all that is needed to take care of your claim. It’s unfortunate by sometimes bull willh become injured prior to or during their first breeding season and often these injuries are life threatening. In an effort to better serve our customers we are offering a optional warranty on all bulls sold through the sale. This warranty will cover the loss

of use from injuries as well as death. Warranty Responsibility • Notify Foursquare immediately by phone, fax or email. • Employ a licensed veterinarian to treat, diagnose and fil out claim for. • If the animal dies, a post-mortem may be required. • When necessary, delivery the bull back to Foursquare. Foursquare retains savage value when possible.

Exclusions to Policy • Injury or death due to malicious, willful or intentional acts or mistreatment by you or your employees are fraudulent claims. All guarantees and warranty will be revoked on bulls that are not paid for within 30 days of the invoice date, unless previous arrangements have been made with Foursquare Farms

Extended Breeding Season Warranty • Covers the bull through his first breeding season for the duration is for 8 months starting February 26th and ending on October 26, 2024.

The cost of the extended warranty is 10% of the bulls purchase price. The coverage is completely optional and you can take it or leave it.

Foursquare Legacy is the last natural calf out of Foursquare Catalina 63C. She died before heading out to pasture, so we grafted this bull onto a different cow, but she had been with out a calf for more than a week. Needless to say, he missed his mom’s milk! Since weaning however Foursquare Legacy has not looked back gaining an above average 3.82 lbs/day. Understanding EPD’s Calving ease direct (CED): Percent of unassisted births of a bull’s calves when he is used on heifers. A higher number is favorable, meaning better calving ease. This EPD can be vital to a rancher looking to decrease the amount of calves pulled in his herd. Milk (Milk): The genetic ability of a sire’s daughters to produce milk expressed in pounds of weaning weight. Calving ease maternal (CEM): Represented as percent of unassisted births in a sire’s first-calving daughters. A higher number represents more favorable calving ease. This EPD is important to a rancher’s bottom line because it predicts which animals produce daughters with a genetic pre-disposition to calve unassisted as heifers. Birth weight (BW): Predicts the difference, in pounds, for birth weight of the calf. Weaning weight (WW): Predicts the difference, in pounds, for weaning weight (adjusted to age of dam and a standard 205 days of age). This is an indicator of growth from birth to weaning. Yearling weight (YW): Predicts the expected difference, in pounds, for yearling weight (adjusted to a standard 365 days of age). This is an indicator of growth from birth to yearling. Total maternal (TM): An index that combines growth and milk information as a prediction of the weaning weight performance of calves from a sire’s daughters. As an index, this value is not reported with an accompanying accuracy. A greater TM value means a mother that returns comparatively higher weaning weights on her calves. TM Index = MK EPD + ½ WW EPD.
