I realize, of course, that there are many worthy causes and great ministry opportunities. We need to choose how we should best distribute our funds (that often seem limited). I am glad, though, that our church has a history of supporting Imagine No Malaria. By God’s grace and with His help, we are making a difference! --Stand In The Gap! Dr. Mary White, Eastern PA Conference Lay Leader, spoke to the assembly on Thursday. The portion of her message that stuck with me the most was when she quoted from Ezekiel 22:30 saying that we are called to “stand in the gap.” At that time, cities were protected by stone walls. If your wall was falling down, you were open to be attacked, and you would need someone to stand in that gap to provide protection. It was true thousands of years ago and is still true today. Our world is full of dangers – pathways that lead to destruction. As the church, we have the responsibility and privilege of standing in the gap, showing the way of salvation. What a great honor! Discipleship Opportunity! I shared with the Church Council in May that we are planning a small group discipleship training opportunity. This will be based on Rick Warren’s “40 Days of Purpose.” You will hear more about it in the coming months (we will likely begin around the middle of October). This is just to let you know that it is coming. I
