The zip should be fully opened or fully closed at all times, ensure the zip is susceptible to damage when it is only partially opened. Always keep the zip flat and straight when folding or storing the garment. Don’t fold the garment across the zip as this can break the teeth. Always rinse zips after use, especially after use in salt water. Keep zips regularly lubricated with a silicon lubricant. Lubricant comes included with Surface Immersion Suit or can be purchased separately. If the zip jams, try to release it by thoroughly washing in fresh water and applying lubricant. After releasing the zip, gently run the slider back and forth to spread the lubricant along the length of the zip and protect it from future jams. Avoid compressing your gear.

Lubrication: Lubricate the slider occasionally with parafin, beeswax or a zipper lubricant such as BDM Zip Wax. A small amount of Vaseline on the closing end improves sealing, but be careful to avoid contact with latex seals.
Lubrication: Regular lubrication with an acid free, grease or oil based lubricant is essential to ensure full strength of the seal. We recommend re-lubricating approximately every 10 uses. Check for sand or dirt before every use.

WATERPROOF SOCKS Most of Palm’s surface immersion suits and pants feature waterproof and breathable socks with taped seams and reinforced soles. To maximize their life span, never walk around or paddle in your socks without overshoes. Both the inner and outer layers of the socks can be damaged by sharp or abrasive objects such as grit, sand or toenails. When required, socks can be replaced at Palm. Socks may also be fitted to garments which originally had latex or neoprene gaskets attached contact customer services for details. A technical sock, i.e. palm Kosi should be worn inside of the waterproof sock.
