I am tired of my back pain - what can physio do to help?

Great question! Ongoing back pain is a very common problem and it impacts many of life’s activities. It can make simply rolling in bed or sitting in the car uncomfortable. Back pain will ruin many pleasures, keeping you from things that you love to do. It can isolate you from family and friends.

So how does physio help? Physiotherapists are problem solvers and we work to solve your back pain. We determine: What is the injured structure; Why is the structure in pain; Contributing Factors – posture, weakness, tightness – what roles do these play.

Next we plan the remedy: How do we stop ongoing irritation; What needs mobility; What needs strengthening; What postural changes are required; What life changes the patient may have to make; What in-clinic skills – manual therapy, IMS needling, Shock Wave Therapy, US, traction – can assist progress?

We involve the patient in each step, making sure they understand the process and its importance. In this way, the physio and patient work together to return to life free of back pain.
