Sensual enlightenment is a rite of passage that every women needs to take herself on in order to feel whole, complete and awakened.

Woman are incredible creatures and the female body is exquisite in design. Naturally intuitive, highly sensual, wonderfully magical with a great ability to create life and heal life in all forms. These gifts all generate from a woman’s ability to birth love into life. She is a keeper, creator and lover of life, and she has the ability to bless life with her words, thoughts and actions. It is her ability to maintain love in all areas of her life that activates her path into sensual enlightenment. Sensual Enlightenment is the ability for you to fall in love with yourself so much, that the divine universe is able to make love to you. It is through this path that a woman learns to become her own soul mate, where she dares to love herself more than anyone else can. It is a path where she claims her sexual energy as a sacred force. Then cultivates it to move through her body, and out of her crown, so that she can connect to the heavens around her. Sensual Enlightenment is a path that encourages every woman to discover and honour her inner beauty, until it becomes her outer radiance. From this position a woman can feel empowered to shine her magnificence and bless life where ever she goes. Sensual Enlightenment teaches a woman to ignite all of her senses, so that she can fall in love with life so much that her body temple opens with the ecstatic joy

of living. Sensual Enlightenment is an embodiment of heaven in a woman’s body. This path begins as soon as you choose to love yourself more than anyone else can. It requires that you become your own soul mate and that honour yourself as a sacred being. Once this occurs the relationship with your sexual energy will change. No longer will you suppress or give it away to serve others, instead you will use it to free your body, heart, mind and soul. Your sexual energy is designed to sublimated into spiritual energy, thus making it an essential ingredient to experience enlightenment in a very sensual and divinely beautiful way. When your sexual life force learns to flow through the body, every single cell in your body will blossom with joy, just like a flower opening to the sun. To have your sexual energy make love to every part of your body provides rejuvenation, renewal and aliveness. Your heart, your feet, legs, hands, ears, eyes and nose all need to be nourished by your sexual energy, and it is through this process that your skin will glow and your beauty will shine. Training your sexual energy to travel up from your genitals to ignite your heart will help you to fall in love with yourself so that you can become your own soul mate. Then, it will be the potent fuel that opens your heart to fall in love with life.

It is from this position that you will be able to encourage all of life to fall in love with you. Syncronicities, opportunities and miracles will take place more easily and your ability to manifest will improve because it is your sexual energy that will help imprint life to create and reflect your heart’s desire. When your sexual energy moves toward the top of your head, you will help your body defy gravity and this will promote anti ageing. Finally when your sexual energy shines out of your crown and connects to the heavens, your intuitive and healing abilities will awaken. This will give you profound spiritual insights to help you navigate through life and discover your life purpose. Sensual enlightenment is a rite of passage that every women needs to take herself on in order to feel whole, complete and awakened. It is a beautiful and magical journey of discovering the self in a divinely feminine and deeply sensual way. Sensual enlightenment is the path of love from the perspective of the exquisite female body temple. Begin your journey into Sensual Enlightenment with this FREE masterclass:

The Love of Play “Play is the purest expression of love*” Andrea Reibmayr, MAL, CEC, CHE, ACC | Tranformational Coach What feeling do you get when you see a kite soaring in the skies? To be involved in an activity whose sole purpose is to have an object soar in the sky with the clouds - How interesting? This activity has no other purpose then to just BE. This activity is PLAY. My mother’s only wish on my visit with her next week is to fly a kite. She asked me if I knew how because she had never flown a kite. My mother is in her 80’s and wants to experience play. This summer I held a retreat for twentysix souls on “Discovering Your Inner Wisdom” as part of the “Wisdom of the Great Lakes” retreats that I host. One of the workshops I facilitated was to dump into the middle of the room a trunk full of games, dress up clothes, paper, glue, coloring books, balls, skipping ropes, Legos and many more play items. The participants ranged from the ages of 27 to 77 years of age. The only purpose was to select something that resonated with them and to play for the next hour. There was no structure of how to play or with whom. The group self-organized themselves into solitary, dyads or teams. There were people coloring quietly on their own, creating drawings together, helping each other build Legos, and another group playing ball with dressup clothes outside. The energy was palpable, loud and lots of laughter. I felt sad to see it end after the allocated hour was done. The energy was vibrant. I observed everyone relaxed, smiling and laughing. When we reconnected after the hour to debrief on the experience, it was interesting to hear what the participants said. Some found it difficult and did not know what to do. Others were excited to play with toys that they played with as children in the school yard. Others

were surprised what play they gravitated towards. One of the core ingredients to the exercise was Trust. A safe and trusting environment needed to be created for the adults to be comfortable and play. I asked the participants to reflect on what they did as a child that excited them, whether they engaged in the activities alone or with others, and could they recreate this experience again. Dr. Stuart Brown*, author of “Play: How it shapes the brain, opens the imagination, and invigorates the soul”, is an advocate of play, and he compares play to oxygen. He states “. . . it’s all around us, yet goes mostly unnoticed or unappreciated until it is missing”. The participants at the retreat remarked how the play workshop was the most enjoyable but also the hardest workshop. To play with no agenda, no goal and free of responsibility was an uncomfortable feeling. Our lives are so structured that we have forgotten to just BE. We have forgotten to allow ourselves to daydream, to wander into the woods and open our minds to imaginary places, to look up at the clouds, see shapes and create stories, or to dance aimlessly and laugh. Ani Manukyan wrote in the July 2018 issue of One Tribe Magazine about “Guilt Free Play Time”. Manukyan warned that if we only focus on work we will burnout. She recommends scheduling in “guilt free play time where you can be creative, dance, play and do whatever makes you and your inner child happy” (p. 35). Play is an important activity. It allows us to create connections between strangers and creates a space for healing. Some of the participants in the workshop did not know each other and bonded because of play. Another participant remarked how

drawing a picture, allowed her to safely open up space about her childhood that she had shut off. Her healing and learning during the retreat was profound. Brown defines play as a “state of being”, “purposeless, fun and pleasurable”. It is not about accomplishing a goal but of just experiencing in the moment. Brown says that if you think of play as a waste of time, remember that “Play is the purest expression of love”. Ideas for play: 1. Ask yourself what did you do as a child that excited you? 2. Did you like to play alone or with others? Or both? 3. Surround yourself with playful people. Where could you find this group? 4. Play with children. Play with pets (talking to your dog about politics!). 5. What can you do to incorporate play into your exercise routine? (Crawling on the ground like a lion!)

THE WORLD Ariaa Jaeger | Spiritual Life Strategist, Iintuitive and transformation alchemist

I began writing a piece for One Tribe Magazine this month but soon decided that I wanted to share the immediate, my return from yet another fantastic experience abroad. I have never been a wealthy woman but I am oh so rich in blessings and the desire to connect with all walks of life from all corners of the planet. I think of the irrepressible chef Tony Bourdain who ended his life two months ago and I marvel at the scope of his life and travels. He met more cultures of people and tasted the fruits of their tribes more than just about anyone on the planet. Living on a budget like most I have managed each year to save enough for one good vacation a year and justify it simply because my daily life is synopsized by service to others. It is rare when I am not serving or helping others evolve, even on vacation, so taking time to refresh, recharge and feed my soul seems a no brainer. Led by my guides and the Holy Spirit, I pray about and meditate on what destination to choose every year to capitalize on this simple truth; that serving others is not a part time job but should be a daily occurrence. I typically book my trips months in advance, with plenty of time to create a magical experience. I am never disappointed. Last year I fulfilled a bucket list dream of traveling to Greece and it was a truly memorable trip filled with holy sites, the beach and the added bonus of connecting with so many lovely people. Because I fell in love with the

Mediterranean all over again, (I’ve had many lifetimes by that sea) I was lead to the coast of Spain and France this year to once again wander on roads and in areas my soul is familiar with. In the search to know yourself you will find that travel opens worlds you have long forgotten and awakens lifetimes long left sleeping. You already know the footprints to retrace if you are truly tuned into your heart. Rediscovering the roads you’ve previously traveled can be painful as your memories are awakened but only those who hunger to live their highest and best life seek to understand the measure of their soul. Every nuance, every trigger, every curiosity, every ripple in your physical or emotional body is

waiting to be explored, understood, healed and integrated. Travel while you’re young, when you’re old and every year in between; explore faraway places and go where the locals shop and eat. There is so much to be gained from connecting with those unlike you and a wealth of knowledge can be gained when you simply take a trip. Over the years I have penned a few poems which sum up my feelings about globally connecting so I thought I would share two of them with you along with the images which inspired the words.

What Conor McGregor Taught Me About Manifesting Kathy Dale | Mindset Coach for Women Post-Divorce Several years ago, I found out that my friend Michelle was a closet MMA fanatic. Her favorite fighter was Irish born and bred, Conor McGregor. I learned about this odd obsession when she told me that I would be hosting an upcoming UFC fight. I would be in charge of cooking a “traditional Irish feast,” comprised of stew, soda bread and Irish Car Bombs. (I later learned that Irish Car Bombs aren’t traditional at all, and would probably get you kicked out of a real Irish pub if you ordered one!) About a week before the fight, Michelle sent me an article on Conor McGregor. He sounded cocky and more than a little insane, but he had made mention of how the book “The Secret” and the principles of the Law of Attraction had changed his life. I was intrigued because I had heard of the book and what a big phenomenon it was but had never read it, nor did I know anything about the Law of Attraction. We decided that we would rent the movie “The Secret” and watch it before the big fight. This is going to sound crazy, but that movie literally changed my life. The very next day after watching “The Secret” I created my very first Vision Board. I vividly remember each item pinned on my Vision Board because EVERY item on my Board (no matter how unlikely or impossible it seemed at the time) manifested. I had created the exact life I had wanted by intently focusing on my vision several times a day, and by taking

action on opportunities that seemed to appear out of thin air. Within TWO WEEKS of watching “The Secret”, I packed up my apartment and relocated to a city 90 miles away, was working remotely from my new home (for a company that had never in thirty plus years allowed non-attorney staff to work from home), and quickly changed the course of my life. I began a daily meditation, visualization, and gratitude practice, and became even more engrossed in personal development and Law of Attraction principles. I had more time and freedom to read books, listen to podcasts, and attend seminars and workshops. Along the way, I learned techniques to manage stress and anxiety, and ways to eliminate fears that had been holding me back. OneTribeMagazine.com | 13

By focusing on the present, you aren’t anxious or stressed about the future or ruminating on the past. As I looked at my own transformation, I realized this was something I wanted to share with others. Within a year, I embarked on a completely new career path helping women overcome fears, blocks and challenges using the exact same tools and strategies I had learned myself. At midlife, I had finally found my purpose in life! I realize at times how impossible this all sounds, but this really happened. And you know what caused it? My unwavering faith and belief that it...was... possible. The belief that you are the cocreator of your life. The belief that when you combine empowering thoughts, with positive and uplifting feelings, and take daily (sometimes massive) action towards your goals...nearly anything is possible. Unlike Conor, I wasn’t able to anticipate the ways in which my life would unfold, but I followed my intuition, remained steadfast in my positive expectations of life, and took inspired action every day. I became curious about Conor and how he used the Law of Attraction to manifest his status as an infamous UFC Champion. What I learned (which closely paralleled the teachings in “The Secret”) was that our thoughts hold some sort of mystical power/energy. Of course, there’s much more to simply thinking something into existence. You need to feel the emotion of your wish fulfilled and take action in order for The Universe, God, Source (or whatever your particular beliefs are) to bring forth your desire into reality. Conor had apparently envisioned each of his fights down to the smallest detail. While Conor researched and studied his opponents’ strengths and weaknesses,

14 | OneTribeMagazine.com

he also, frame-by-frame, visualized the outcome of the fight where he ended up victorious. When asked about the correlation between the Law of Attraction and the power of visualization Conor said: “In this struggle, when things are going good and you visualize good things happening , that’s easy. What’s not easy is to do this when things are going bad and you’re visualizing the good stuff. And that’s what I was able to do. … Visualizing good things in times of struggle, when you can do that, that really makes the law of attraction work.” My biggest takeaway is that the Universe doesn’t care so much what you think about -- it simply delivers what you are placing an order for -- good or bad. When you stop and realize that a majority of our thoughts (we have roughly 50,00070,000 thoughts per day) are negative looping thoughts, it makes sense to pay close attention to the thoughts you’re thinking. Once you become aware of your thoughts, you have control over their direction. It requires focus and daily practice, but it can be done. Mindfulness/meditative practices help tremendously with this because they keep you focused on living in the present moment. By focusing on the present, you aren’t anxious or stressed about the future or ruminating on the past. After being a student of these teachings for some time now, I believe that manifestation is a result of three components: your thoughts, your emotions, and the actions you take as a result of your beliefs about what is or isn’t possible. Like Connor says, I realize that it’s hard to visualize success when you are struggling with finances or to visualize the perfect partner when you’re single. Our subconscious mind communicates in symbols, metaphors and visuals, which is why Vision Boards and visualization work so well. If you see visuals reminding you of the life you desire (i.e. a plane to represent travel, a glass of champagne to symbolize celebration, a picture of a couple holding hands while walking the beach to represent love and companionship) your mind searches for ways to make this happen, and keeps an

eye out for opportunities it otherwise may have missed. You can’t let yourself get caught up in your current circumstances. If you continually focus on lack and scarcity, you’ll end up attracting more of the same. You also can’t control how things are going to come into existence. You simply have to trust the process. Instead, focus on all the good things that are already in your life. An example of this is if you’re looking to bring more abundance into your life, what areas of your life are already abundant? (i.e. your relationships with family or friends, a fulfilling hobby, etc.) It doesn’t have to be directly related to a financial goal. Think symbolically about what abundance means to you and apply the concept where it already fits into your life. If you’re not happy with what you’re attracting into your life, I invite you to start examining your current thoughts. Set an alarm on your phone to go off several times a day. When the alarm goes off, check-in to see where your thoughts are. If you’re thinking about something upsetting, immediately change the thought. Remember to always focus on what you want, not what you don’t want or on what’s missing in your life. And never underestimate the power of synchronicity. Specific people, circumstances, ideas, and inspiration are brought into your life for a reason. They’re always an indicator of what you’re focused on. Set an intention for what you want, pay attention to the signs you’re given, take inspired action, trust the process, and watch as beautiful things begin to manifest into your life. NOTE: I’d like to offer my sincere thanks and immense gratitude to Brian Konnick for allowing me the use of his digital artwork for this article. The Definition of

L VE Vanessa Louise Moore | Transformational Mentor & Speaker.

16 | OneTribeMagazine.com

With such a vast subject as love, where on earth do you start in trying to define it? That’s probably the best place to start ~ earthly love. I believe there are 3 types of love: the first being earthly or human love. This is the type of love we are programmed to learn by others, be that parents, family, teachers or friends. This is the type of love that makes sense. Human love is conditional and almost tangible. I’ll love you if you do this...I’ll love you if you behave like that…we believe love is about give and take and we believe we need to feel loved for us to feel worthy. Human love is constantly changing and varies in intensity. We can love someone one minute and then not love them the next and we can love them so much one minute and then not so much the next. This kind of love is dependant on so many other factors outside of ourselves and we learn to place the meaning of love onto other things or people. We allow our EGO’s to rule the roost and love can then become a mind game. We are easily pulled ‘off centre’ by our outside environment and we regularly and easily react with negative emotions for fear of not feeling loved by others. We think we will only feel loved if we have this or do that. Human love only leads to frustration as it feels like we are trying to write a novel with only half the alphabet. We expect other people to love us for us to feel loved or worthy which in my opinion only perpetuates a sense of disconnection leading to ill health, angry or volatile behaviour and addiction. (the belief that we will feel better by reaching out and filling ourself up with something or someone from the outside). The second type of love is Spiritual love. The best way to describe this is Motherly love. The intensity of a mother’s love may vary however a mother’s love doesn’t change and she may never stop loving her child. A mother loves with her heart (rather than her mind) and however the child may behave a mother’s love sees the beauty in her child. I am sure many mothers, like

me, have said many times to their kids ‘I love you, I just don’t like what you did or said’ A spiritual love will have more strength and insight to respond with love rather than to react to situations or behaviours and on some level chooses to see that to love, regardless of behaviour of outside circumstance, is a choice. The third type of love is Divine Love. I’ll attempt to define the infinite and allencompassing power as best I can with words when really, we all know this is impossible. Divine Love never changes and never varies and is the only reliable constant throughout all of life. Divine Love is the highest vibration known in the Universe and has the power to heal and transform anyone or anything. Divine Love is unconditional, and it does not care that we may not appreciate it or pay it any attention. However, for us to feel harmony and a sense of inner peace and to thrive as a human being, we must recognise this power lives within us and it is our choice to let go of our limiting beliefs and the untrue stories we created around ourselves about who we are NOT and to begin seeing ourselves through the eyes of Divine Love. We are perfect, whole and complete just as we are, it’s our beliefs around who we are not that create stresses and struggles in our life. When we become one with Divine Love and allow it to flow through us, we will feel our most joyous self, and this is the whole purpose of life. To feel a true sense of connection is what will become our guidance system throughout life and enable us to stay as present in the now and in full appreciation of ourselves and our lives. Strengthening this connection through meditation and intention is a daily commitment and necessary if we are to be of service to our loved ones and for the greater good.

“Go and love someone exactly as they are. And then watch how quickly they transform into the greatest, truest version of themselves. When one feels seen and appreciated in their own essence, one is instantly empowered.”

— Wes Angelozzi

To love and accept ourselves and others just as they are without judgement or criticism from a soul level, is not always easy, however I believe it is necessary for us to do if we are to have a positive an loving impact on ourselves, our loved ones and the world around us.

PERMISSION Christine Saunders l Personal Results Coach, Wholehearted Life

Have the courage is show up and be “you” as your authentic self 18 | OneTribeMagazine.com

What does living in and from your Wholeheart mean? My coaching practice is called “Wholehearted Life” but what does that really mean? Recently I have been asked this question more and more. So I figured it was time to put some of my thoughts out there not only for myself, but for others too. You see I have a mission and that mission is the most important aspect of my life. My mission in life is to ease suffering for anyone I can whenever I can. Without that purpose or mission I was feeling lost! I was just wandering, searching for answers as to what I’m supposed to do in life. Then one day it hit me!! To fulfill my mission in life, I must live, love, and operate from a Wholeheart. So really, what does that mean? I have chunked it down for myself so honestly, I could really understand what meaning it had for me and then be able to share it with others. So below are the elements that are vital for me and the very definition of living this life wholeheartedly! Contribution (beyond ourselves) For me this sits beside love at the utmost top on the list of fundamentals important for Wholehearted Living. Contribution means setting all ego aside, having empathy and not sympathy. It means creating an environment for others to express their current heart and head space through creativity. When I say creativity, I literally mean in creative ways that feel empowering. This could be expression through voice, movement, art, meditation, it is personal and powerful. This space has no judgement, it is accepting, affirming and allows free flow expression of anything that arises. Contribution is also doing for others, it is random acts of kindness, it is a smile, a hug, or even a monetary gift. It is what you deem it to be and the meaning you place on it. That meaning is the spirit of contributing to something greater than yourself. Love Love is an energy, a state, and expression. Love is something you have and you have the privilege of giving! It never leaves you it is always in our hearts. Giving love from your Wholeheart

is a love like no other. It is unconditional and a “expect nothing in return” kind of love. It is a pure healing energy, an amazing gift that is given and received on levels beyond imagination. We must be open to it and allow that focused energy to lead our hearts. The power of our heart is the most beautiful thing. It is in my opinion one of the reasons prayer works. It is the focused vibrational energy we release when we pray for others that makes it so powerful. Courage I heard this amazing speaker Luke Frazier describe courage and it made me think about my own understanding of courage. It made so much sense to me. (Contact information for Luke – email: luke@depression2extinction.org) This is my take away after listening and reflecting on his words There is a difference between having courage and acts of courage. Acts of courage are just that, actions. Such as being a soldier or saving people from dangerous situations. Having bravery or being heroic. This is where I found my understanding and the way he describes it to be in so much alignment; Whereas having courage is showing up and being “you” as your authentic self. It is showing vulnerability and owning your entire life. It is honoring all things that make us amazing humans. This is where I found my understanding and the way he describes it to be in so much alignment; Courage is showing up as our true selves even when we are challenged to do so. Presence This is so much in alignment with courage. It is that space where you show up for others and yourself as your true authentic self. There is no agenda, no judgment, there is a pure open space shared with another. With vulnerability comes connection, deep connection with another. Presence means not distractions, it means actively listening, eye contact, sharing space with anther human and making a meaningful connection without expectations. Just being in the moment.

Inspiration What we tend to experience and hear is that Inspiration comes from external sources. Yes!!! It comes from hearing others, seeing the actions of others, reading from others books and posts. And here is what is amazing about that! Those “others” are and can be YOU! You are the inspiration. This is where we share this gift of inspiring love and courage with others. When I say, it is a gift, it really is a gift and we all have to give! We don’t give this gift away, we give it to share and spread, so it always lives in our Wholeheart. Perseverance Go and do! This is when you feel like you, your voice is gone or you are not feeling heard. That’s when you stand up and yell the loudest!! When you set all limiting beliefs aside and DO!!! You keep doing until you succeed! There is no giving up! Even when you feel the most defeated and misunderstood. This is when you rise and keep going! Isn’t it wonderful to be a

BEACON OF LIGHT? Jane Stewart | High Confidence Coach Boost Your Confidence & Reveal The Brand In You.

When I decided to leave my corporate career at the age of 46, everyone thought I had lost my mind. The job I had at the time was great, but it wasn’t what I wanted. It wasn’t what I had dreamed of. The big picture had come into focus. What I wanted—no, what I *needed*— was to run my own business. I realized I wanted to work with people on a more personal level, to inspire, to help, to give, to laugh, to love. To do that, I had to give up what everyone else thought was best for me. It wasn’t easy. It never has been. The judgment and whispering will always be there. But whenever I struggle, I always think about my childhood in Kauai with my cousins. Running a business is like learning to surf. Every time you fall, you learn more about what you’re doing and how to do it. You might look like a fool for a while, but when you hit the perfect wave, it’s so incredibly rewarding. Fear is a common enemy. Will you try every single wave? Or will you wait until the scary ones have passed before you give it a try? Business opportunities are just as common as waves at the beach, but you’re not ready for all of them. And that’s okay. Everything you try will be a new challenge, no matter how long you’ve been an entrepreneur. I just left corporate America a few years ago, but

it feels like I’ve become someone totally new because of how many things I’ve tried since I started! The world is full of amazing new discoveries for you to make, and sometimes, you have to deal with rejection in order to find what you didn’t know you needed. There are people you will meet who will laugh in your face, interrupt you, reject you, put you on hold, hang up on you, abandon you… You get the point, right? There are lots of people who want to pin you down, to keep you from fulfilling your and goals. They are noisy and destructive because they are threatened by you. Often, they are holding themselves back from chasing their dreams. And if they can’t do what they want, then neither should anyone else! That’s just how they think and behave. I’m going to tell you a revolutionary secret, something that will change your entire life:

Then, think about what makes you happy, whatever it is that makes your heart sing. Make a list of everything that gives you joy. Don’t be afraid to keep adding to it over time! Keep it close. Stop selling yourself short and work toward what you genuinely want the most. I find that the thing that makes me happiest is lifting other people up. No matter how many times I got rejected and laughed at, I still found ways to do something nice for someone wherever I went. Spread kindness. When you do things for other people without expecting a reward for it, you make connections with others and experience a euphoria that comes only from being generous. In a world of hatred and violence, isn’t it wonderful to be a beacon of light? Do things differently. Be different. Be your unique self! Show the world that you don’t have to give in to cynicism. Thanks for reading. Be brave, and be bold – I believe in you!

Let go of those people. Take a deep breath and forget about them. Go ahead. I’ll wait. Feel better? Maybe you’re still holding onto some of your burdens. Whatever is keeping you from being your truest self— let it go.

Why It Is Important To Keep A

Goals Journal Alexandra Badita l Self-Esteem Coach, Author and Speaker.

24 | OneTribeMagazine.com

You know that feeling when you are looking forward to your next holiday? Or the shivers of excitement that run down the back of your spine when you visualise yourself walking in your new house? That is the feeling we should be connected to when setting our goals and writing them down. As a writing supporter and trainer, I encourage all my friends and clients to set their goals on paper. I even dedicated an entire chapter from my book “Write Your Way To Happiness” to the activity of writing in order to plan for your goals. Beyond all of the benefits of journaling, keeping a goals journal will save you lots of time and pain in the long run. How? Let’s explore this further. Reason #1: Accountability When you set an objective in your mind, it is easy to postpone it or not take it seriously. You think that nobody else knows about it, so it doesn’t really matter if you fulfill your goal or not. In this case, your self-discipline needs accountability. You need to feel committed in order to have the extra urge to complete your objective. Your first commitment is to yourself. By writing your goal down, you make an additional commitment to paper. Because you know that you will look into that journal one month from now and those letters on the page will hold you accountable. If you want to go the extra mile, tell a friend or your coach what is your goal for the month. Ask them to remind you periodically and to question your progress along the way. This way you will feel compelled to finalise your goal. Reason #2: Structure Setting a goal can make you feel good but then it can hit you: how am I going to get there? Writing down your objective in a journal will be followed by the planning stage, when you break it down into actionable steps. Putting pen to paper is a great way to give structure to your tangled thoughts and plans, therefore your journal will help you stay on track. Creating the steps of your plan will give your goal a structure, will take away the feeling of overwhelm and will get you closer to achieving your targets.

Let’s say for example that you have a vision of where you want to be in five years. You will then create your goals for each year. Then you can gradually write them down quarterly, and then monthly. My favorite way of keeping my goals journal is on a monthly basis. I get to check in with my values and my vision every month, and set my goals that take me closer step by step. Keeping a goals journal will make you more connected to your purpose. You will take action because you will have your plan written down and that will support you in taking so much hustle and pain away. Reason #3: Obstacles Sometimes you can get carried away and dream of your goal with too much intensity. Yes, it is great to dream, but a pinch of reality can also save you some time. In my goals journal, I have a section that prompts me to think about any potential challenges I might encounter. This way, I can think of any risks or something that might hold me back from accomplishing my goal. Of course, you can never predict all the obstacles, but if it is something you could have prevented, you will be thankful to save time in advance and have a back-up plan. Reason #4: Celebration When you write down your goals in your journal, after making sure you took care of the potential obstacles, focus on the image of you achieving your goal. And visualize yourself celebrating. What will you do? Who will you call first? How are you going to spoil yourself?

If you need support in planning for your goals and achieving them, write them down. If you want an additional hand, you can reach out to coaching.

In the race of constantly winning, we tend to run from one goal to the next, without taking a break to actually celebrate and acknowledge ourselves for the effort and for the great job we have done. It really matters because you should be your number one fan. Reason #5: Timeline There is a difference between the short term goals and your long term vision. You should of course be very clear on your vision, because it will keep you focused and connected to your purpose along the way. When you have a vision of where you want to get, you will be able to set short term goals. Each of these goals is meant to bring you closer to your long term vision.

What you have to understand is that the ANSWER YOU SEEK is already seeking you 26 | OneTribeMagazine.com

Breakthrough your inner-power Mohamed Abdulrahman Public Speaker, Author, Philanthropist, Blogger.

You are capable of BEING, ACHIEVING and DOING so much more with your life than what you are now. I’ve made it my responsibility in this article to demonstrate HOW? Therefore, I recommend you read this with as much awareness as possible, even if that means STOP and REFLECT in order to comprehend my words, do so in order to experience the full impact of what I have to share!

What I would like to introduce your awareness to is an experience that has become a philosophy that I live by when I come across obstacles in life therefore allowing me to remain on course with my desires and aspirations. A few months ago, I became homeless due to unforeseen circumstance and situations. When I did, the immediate predominant thought to mind became “WHY ME!?” This resulted in weeks of continuing to find it difficult to find or create the solution to re-stabilize my life. OneTribeMagazine.com | 27

You already have the tools to transform your life I had it in me to do so BUT my focus was on continuing to feel and be a VICTIM rather than the creator I am. WHY? Because I based what was possible for me and what I could do on that current reality of being homeless, BUT that wasn’t necessary as my beginning never had to be my middle nor end. It becomes difficult to understand what this really means as we have become spiritual beings dependent on the physical things outside of us to develop and cultivate our self-belief and confidence in acknowledging that we have the ability to design the life of our desire. Hence, I fell into a spiral in life, when I could have put a hold to it all through making the choice to do so by changing my perspective to how I was seeing my circumstance and the story I was continuing to repeat to myself. However, I was in my EGO so much so that I came to believe I didn’t have those options or choices to transform my circumstances. What had happened to me was all there was to it and there was nothing more to it beneath the surface. This wasn’t the case though as I believe whatever is HAPPENING to you right now are ACTUALLY happening for you when you focus on the underlying meaning to why it’s happening which I will explain in another article. However, this is the FABRICATED lie we have created for ourselves in order to evade responsibility for our lives when we are faced with difficulties because the TRUTH is that we are where we are today because of the choices we have made. We are who we are because of the choices we have made so then that means we must change our choices to get different result BUT change is

28 | OneTribeMagazine.com

extremely uncomfortable for many of us as we become uncertain of whether we will fail or succeed and what will the outcome become of these changes. Our brain is designed in a way to continue making us feel safe and secure therefore it creates a system that assures it accomplishes its tasks and ANYTHING different means it’s compromised and cannot assure us of our safety and security so it panics. Life is ALL about choice. If we continue DOING the same thing we always have, we continue getting the same result in our lives we have always been getting. This is what I want you to remember; pain and setbacks in life are inevitable and it can occur in the most unforeseen moment however suffering and remaining to be there is a choice. It’s a choice we decide to choose to make when we become committed to stick with a limited mindset and close ourselves to being challenged, stretched and broadening our horizon to what we don’t know because of how inconvenient or uncertain it may seem or feel. When we develop this belief that life is AGAINST us, we then refuse to analyse our beliefs in order to improve our lives as this becomes our comfort zone, no matter how much we’re convinced we don’t want it. We continue to live with this sceptical and cynical mentality that has been inspired within us by our environment and the people we continue to surround ourselves with which leads us towards the direction of attracting more toxic ENERGIES in the form of circumstances or people. Preventing us from the lesson required for us to learn in order to evolve and outgrow what we are experiencing and who we are. What you have to come to realize is you are NOT attracting what you want BUT what you are and feel at a subconscious level. You ALREADY have the tools to transform your life however; you are asleep to it therefore this potential continues to lie dormant within you as you continue to allow other’s limitation and beliefs to become your reality.

Today, I sense many of YOUR frustrations. I can sense them because I’ve experienced them myself. You’re tired of your life continuing to remain stagnant. You’re frustrated because you KNOW in every cell in your body that you’re not living to your potential mentally, emotionally and spiritually BUT each time you try, something seems to be obstructing you and you’re too exhausted to question it any longer or seek the truth. You’ve convinced yourself this is all there is you are left with to settle for in life so you try YET deep down you know it ISN’T true. You feel it BUT what can you then do? What you have to understand is that the ANSWERS YOU SEEK is already seeking you, sometimes not in the way you would expect it or welcome it and therefore, it’s imperative you remain open and curious to each experience in your life and WHY it’s happening because there lies the clues and opportunities to create the life you want and become into the person you desire to become. Taking responsibility for where you are is the first step, what’s next?

I went from wishing for the laptop lifestyle - to actually living and working location-free, earning thousands 36 | OneTribeMagazine.com

I guarantee that your life reflects exactly

WHAT YOU BELIEVE Bianca Spears | Empowerment Coach & Author

Sure, you tell yourself that you will get there, that you can do it, that one day you will be there, but what do you actually believe?

had “made it” on social media in utter amazement, daydreaming and promising myself every time that “one day I will be like that”.

A long time ago I dreamt of being a coach who travelled the world, who made $10K months and did not need to work for anyone else. Last year (after more than a year of work, struggle and “figuring it out”) I did it, and have since done above and beyond that, creating a sustainable coaching business that I can now keep earning from even when I take time out after the birth of my first child in January. I share this not to boast, but to share what’s possible, and I promise you that just saying my dream to myself or writing it down was not what made it possible.

I’d then feel a tiny little pang of doubt within me. If I listened, I could hear it. It chased my visions and haunted me with doubts: “But will you?!”, “Can you?”, “How would you?”, “You don’t really know what you’re doing”, “You’re not like them”, “You don’t know business”, “You are really creative, but you don’t have the organisation and discipline it takes”, “Creative people like you don’t make that kind of money”.

In fact, if I really trace back to what was going on in my mind and energy when I wanted it so bad and didn’t have it, the vibe underneath my desires reflected some wishful thinking along the lines of “I desperately want that biz and life... and hope that I figure out how”. Truthfully, if I actually made that money and had that life just drop into my lap, I wouldn’t have really know what the hell to do. Why? Because it was not in my identity and how I defined myself. I was the one who wanted all that, but I was not the one who had it, so I lived and behaved like the one who wanted it, watching those who

Amongst this doubt though friends, I’ll tell you what I did have (and still do have): a very deep rooted belief that we can be, have and do anything that we want. Alongside that, another deep-rooted belief: we create it all. To be honest, these are beyond “beliefs”; for me, they’re the undeniable truth. Some of you might be reading this and affirmatively shake your heads: “yep, that’s me right now trying to get to my next level too”, “I believe we can too”, then the ‘buts’ work their way in: “But I don’t know how to change my identity”, or “I’ve tried, but it didn’t work”, “But I probably don’t have the money to get a coach”, “I’ve read some books and done some workshops, I can probably work it out myself now.”

I was right there, wanting the same things, saying the same things, fearing the same things. I even had the blueprint; the exact steps to creating the business I wanted. My identity and beliefs were keeping me in procrastination, selfsabotage, indecision, or doing tons of work that did not increase my client base or income. I did not really believe I – Bianca Spears – could actually run online programs, that I could really be paid the amount I wanted to, and be paid that for doing what I really love. I wanted to believe it, but deep down I did not fully buy it. It was not until I sought out a coach (and figured out a way to work with him because I was not able to afford his standard payment plan) that I began to change my identity. I did something that I never would have done before. I spent money I would have never spent on 1:1 work. That in itself started a shift. I decided that this was it. I worked with him and did hours and hours of work that changed my identity. It changed who I was and what I had. I had to go through the admittedly painful process of setting the record straight on who I was, and who I needed to be.

OneTribeMagazine.com | 37

I started asking myself: “What are my daily habits?”, “Where did I get with them until now?”, “Where do I want to go?”, “What do I need to change?”, “Who do I need to become?”. After forming the answers, I imagined myself being all that. If I needed to be more confident in asking for the real value of my services, then I would tell myself “I am someone who believes in the value of what I produce, and I accept nothing less for my work.” I spoke aloud in excitement about what it would feel like to be all that, I became someone who realized how much this

38 | OneTribeMagazine.com

meant to me. Once this happy feeling settled within me, I realized that I needed to do whatever it’d take to be that person, because that is when I would be truly happy, rather than someone who was waiting to be. I became someone who did know what I was doing (not just someone who wished they did). I did have the confidence I needed to convert leads into sales. I did get the value of my work. I did get clients just saying “yes” without resistance, because I believed that

everyone wanted this. I knew it was the best program ever, that it could change their life, lifestyle, relationships, family, impact and income. Ultimately, what I succeeded in was shifting my mindset towards creating new habits and beliefs that would become practical tools – the link between turning my daydreaming into actual goals; goals that seemed obtainable, once I believed that I could chase them in real life. I went from wishing for the laptop lifestyle - and to be honest, trying to live it before

I am someone who believes in the value of what I produce, and I accept nothing less for my work I had the income to match it - to actually living and working location-free, earning thousands as I went. I’ve been uplevelling my identity and reality ever since; last year I went from being a ‘coach’ with zero clients to being a paid, award-winning coach on the cover of a magazine. I went from the person who flew with the cheapest airlines to flying first class. I went from being a disorganized oneman show, someone who told herself that she could not afford an assistant, to committing to taking on one team

member and making it work. From there I shifted up and up, now running a growing team of people. Suddenly it was done – all because I had shifted to really believing, really knowing that it was possible for me, bringing it all into my life, and my mind, my thoughts, beliefs, feelings and actions matched it. It became a total, unquestionable truth before it happened, and until I was one with my target, there’d always be a gap between us. When you shift from

uncertainty into total clarity and certainty, when you live as the person you want to become - walk like them, talk like them, overcome problems like them, you will be them, and once you are them, you will receive and create their results too.

That’s What Friends Are For Amanda Bellia | Founder of Change the Way you Age Wellness Practitioner and Healthy Ageing Expert

I have just come back from a wonderful holiday with some very beautiful friends and it made me think about the real importance of friendship in my life and what this means to me and to my wellbeing. it has also made me think about how important friendship and social networks are as we get older and the huge benefit this can bring in terms of support, care, socialising and 40 | OneTribeMagazine.com

a feeling of belonging (something I think is a fundamental desire in all of us). It has also made me think about loneliness and isolation, what it might feel like if we don’t have any friends or family, with no one to reach out to or hold on to or just spend time with. I cannot imagine it, and hopefully will never experience it, but as we get older, this is what can happen and does happen to a lot of people.

People living on their own is on the increase There were 2.43 million 45 to 64-year-olds living on their own in the UK in 2017 which has been attributed to a higher proportion of middle-aged people who are divorced, single or have never married. The number of people aged 75 and over who are living alone has increased by around a quarter in the past 20 years, from 1.78 million to 2.21

million. This is likely to be because of the death of a spouse or partner and our increasing ageing population. Studies have shown that as we get older our friendships decline in number and it has been suggested that older adults actively withdraw from their network, perhaps as a result of declining physical health or loss of roles through retirement. This withdrawal and decline in health can then lead to loneliness and isolation and a separation from society. Loneliness is painful. But it can be prevented and building and cultivating our social networks and friendships is crucial. When it comes to happiness friends are key Having friends can bring fun into our lives. When I am with my friends I can probably say I am at my happiest. Some of the best times in my life have been when I have spent time with friends, creating lasting and wonderful memories I will hold dear and often bring a huge smile to my face. Happiness is within all of us and I think friends help to bring it out of us. Friends are there to share our experiences with, to open ourselves up to and not be afraid with. to laugh with and to cry with. They are there to hold us up and to put the world to rights with over a cup of tea or a cheeky glass of wine or three!. They are there to seek advice from, to be felt understood and to learn from. To me, the value of friendship is priceless. Friendships enrich our lives and enhance our wellbeing. There is a wealth of literature suggesting that how many people we have around us, the support that we give and receive, and how often we see them impacts on our physical and psychological health. A problem shared is a problem halved – having a friend means we can share our troubles with them. We can talk through the things that are worrying us, reducing stress and worries which could otherwise consume us. A longer life - With strong social support we have a reduced risk of many significant health problems, including depression, high blood pressure and an unhealthy body mass index (BMI).

Studies have even found that older adults with a rich social life are likely to live longer than their peers with fewer connections. Preventing loneliness - Friends can help us celebrate good times and provide support during bad times. They prevent loneliness and give us a chance to offer needed companionship. Making us healthier – Friends can Increase our sense of belonging and purpose, improve our self-confidence and self-worth, help us cope with traumas, such as divorce, serious illness, job loss or the death of a loved one, encourage us to change or avoid unhealthy lifestyle habits, such as excessive drinking, bad eating habits or lack of exercise The more varied our social network, the happier and healthier we will be. Good friends are very important as we get older, especially in the absence of strong family relationships. Often, family relationships can have a negative impact on health, but this is less typical of friendships. Friendships are the relationships we choose and, thus, may allow greater feelings of autonomy and facilitate integration into broader social networks and the wider community. Creating friends and a good social network requires time, energy and attention. It is our responsibility to ensure we maintain good friendships and create bigger social networks. A key factor to ageing well and happily is to have great friends around us and to never stop growing our social networks. Our best future is one where we continue to socialise, to get out and about, to continue to have fun and build happy memories, where we can support each other, walking side by side That’s what friends are for.

I’ll be on your side for ever more That’s what friends are for.” Lyrics – “That’s what friends are For”. Dionne Warwick Author – Amanda Bellia – Founder of Change the Way you Age/Wellness Practitioner and Healthy Ageing Expert.

Being Late, Disrespect & Memories Dana Pharant | Master Healer, Life Strategist, Published Author.

I sipped on my coffee while mindlessly scrolling through Facebook and I find myself silently laughing over a post that my friend put up. “What are your pet peeves?” She asked

day, so it did not make any sense why she could not get anywhere on time. It did not matter if it was work, doctor appointments, graduation ceremonies, she was late for everything.

“I hate it when people are late; it says they do not respect me enough to be on time.”

This would piss off her bosses, coworkers and clients. Friends and family who loved her would tease her about it. She hated being late, it stressed her out yet she could not get herself to make it on time. When it came to important events, the best she managed was only to be a few minutes late.

10 years ago, I would have been commenting about how much I hate that too and likely would have added in something about people being lacking willpower to get their butt in gear to show up on time.

Now, Sally had been working with me for other things, so this was also an issue for me as well. I suggested we explore what was underneath this behaviour and see what might be going on at a deeper level for her that was creating this lateness.

However, I had something happen that shifted my whole paradigm of why people are late.

Turns out, there was an incident in her early teen years. She had always been the kid that was teased and picked on by the others in her class, but one day the “cool” girls invited her to join them for some games. They were to all meet at the school just outside the gym. She waited and waited, but no one showed up. Eventually, she gave up and walked home, rejected once again.

Of course, people love to have a chance to vent, so there was a wide range of responses, but one stopped my laughter as snapped me instantly back in time.

I had a client, we will call her Sally, come to me 10 years ago. Sally was chronically late, no matter what she did, no matter how good her intentions where she was always 10-15 min late for everything. She is a brilliant woman who gets more done by noon than most do in a whole 42 | OneTribeMagazine.com

The next day, she overheard the girls laughing in the hall at her and how stupid she looked just standing there waiting. Sally was so hurt, doing her best to pretend that she did not hear them, she walked away from them and snuck into the bathroom to let the tears flow out while vowing never to let anyone do that to her again. She swore she would make sure that she would never arrive before everyone else so that she could not be hurt like this again. Thus began the pattern of being late, always making sure that the “others” were there first so that she was not stood up and humiliated again. Of course, she had mostly forgotten about this memory, and by the time she was out of high school it was a well-formed habit to be late, yet she did not connect it to the fact that she was protecting herself. On the outside, it looked like a very damaging behaviour, yet she was diligently working to keep herself from deep pain as only school children are capable of inflicting.

2. Clearing out the reactions to non-logical stressors – Take some time outside of when you are feeling triggered or stressed to change the responses your brain is creating. One simple and easy way to do this is to say out loud what you are reacting to, and then use the deep breathing with the intention to release the stress to move it out. For example, let’s say you are stressed about calling to follow up on a lead you have in your business. You are looking at the card, and you can feel your heart rate elevate before you even pick up the phone to dial. This is your reptilian brain telling you there is a danger hidden in there about calling this person or maybe calling any lead.

Our brains are incredible creatures, yet in areas of deep emotion and the need to stay safe, we become slaves to what is often called our reptilian brain. The part of our brain that does not have cognitive reasoning or even language, it reacts purely on instinct, and its primary function is to keep us safe. So when we feel threatened or imprint something as threatening, our reptilian brain will take over every time, willpower and reason will lose out. We are powerless to override our reptilian brain and force ourselves into action. Instead, we need to change the programming of our reptilian brains, to disconnect the mechanisms that are firing that we are not safe. For Sally, once we were able to connect with that incident, change the energetic patterning that the reptilian brain had attached to it, she was free of the need to be late. From that day onwards, she was easily able to be early or right on time. She was rarely late, and if she was it was because of something unexpected and out of her control like a freak accident on the highway, but day to day she had zero resistance to being on time. It is so easy to think that people are lazy or lack the willpower to show up on time

or to do something for you that they said they would, but my experience with Sally showed me that there are times when that perception is totally wrong. To see that people are often the victims of their reptilian brains and are simply lacking the tools to create the change. Using willpower and force to get ourselves to change when our reptilian brains are seeing the danger is as effective as trying to put two south poles of magnets together. You can push really hard and get really close, but you will never succeed. Willpower is no match for subconscious programming. So, if there is something that you have been fighting to change and no matter how hard you try it won’t budge I just want to let you know that it is not that you are broken, stupid, or not strong enough. What if it is just that you have not had the right tools to change things? Critical tools for shifting the patter of the stress reaction 1. Breathing – the simple act of taking a deep breath triggers the body to release the chemicals that produce relaxation in your body. The more stressed you feel, the more you want to focus on slowing down and taking a deeper breath.

Now that we have identified the triggering event – thinking about calling that lead. You can say, out loud is more effective, “I am safe to make calls to leads.” Now breathe, and let that release. Repeat this process until it feels smooth and natural to say it. Now check and see if it feels more comfortable to make that call. If not, see what other aspects are popping up, maybe a different variation, different reason to be afraid or reacting. Use the same format and keep removing the connections to fear with the action you need to take – in this example it is calling those leads. You will find that by doing this, digging in and getting all the variations of interesting fear reactions out of your system, you will naturally move into action. No willpower will be required. it’s your choice You can have reasons or results

Joanna Ellis | The Coaches Coach

Mary had spent her life blaming other people, blaming what had happened in her past and even blaming things that hadn’t even happened yet. She always gave reasons for her lack of results in her business, for her unhappiness and for why it was never her fault when she had problems in her relationships.

or if she didn’t know, she knew she could do whatever it took to find out. One of the laws of the universe is the law of cause and effect. This law states that for everything that happens in the universe there is something that caused it to happen: – a hammer lands on a nail and drives it in, a finger pushes a line of dominos and they fall down, we get in a traffic jam and we are late for work.

In her business, she constantly compared her success to others and always had a reason why she was falling behind. It wasn’t her fault that she was struggling. She was so busy. Her back was constantly giving her pain. Her husband was working all the hours under the sun and gave her no support. But the money was running out and something had to change. Many people feel that change takes time. What we often see is that getting ready to change can take time but, when we are ready, when we are sick and tired of being sick and tired, change can happen in an instant. And, Mary was sick and tired. She was tired of hearing herself complain. She had started to notice that she wasn’t much fun to be around, people were asking her out less. Some people were, in her mind, deliberately sitting at the other end of the table when she went out for dinner with friends. It didn’t feel good. One day she was in a shop choosing a birthday card for a friend and she noticed something on one card which made all the others fade into the background.

44 | OneTribeMagazine.com

The card was in the motivational section, a section she had often scoffed at, ridiculing the clichés. For some reason today, she was drawn to this section and this particular card which in bold, bright, hot pink letters stated, ‘If it is to be, it’s up to me!’ Mary gulped. It felt like a complete paradigm shift where so many of her other beliefs realigned themselves to fit in with this one slogan. She slowly read the card again ‘if it is to be, it’s up to me!’ She read it slowly and calmly as if she was her own kindest mentor. In a flash, she saw her excuses, she saw how much she had blamed. She saw what a pain in the proverbial she had been to her friends, her family and her business partners and at that moment decided to do whatever it took to live a life that she designed. She knew what she had to do

One of the deciding factors in how much success someone has in their life – with success meaning different things to different people, is how much they put themselves at the cause side of the equation instead of the effect side. Are you the hammer or the nail? Are you the finger or the domino? Do you do whatever it takes to be on time for work or do you blame the traffic? What do we mean by this? Someone at effect side might say – ‘you made me angry’, ‘the traffic jam made me late for work’, ‘this weather is getting me down’. Now, we all spend some time at effect and some time at cause in our lives. The trick is to notice when you are at effect and do whatever it takes, to see the part that you have played in what happens in your life. You take responsibility. You fully integrate the belief that you are the only person who can change your life.

Finding Happy Andy Ferguson | Author. Guide. Mentor. Speaker. As I’ve grown older you’d think I’d get used to the reality that I most likely have more years behind me than in front of me. But I can’t get used to it because somehow the future always seems an abstract idea. Perhaps it’s just the way my mind works but I can’t imagine getting much older. I can imagine dying though, after all on at least three occasions during my life I thought it was over, I thought I’d be dead in the next few moments and so I made my peace with God, the Universe or perhaps it was just with myself.

Every now and then I experience euphoria. That’s right full-blown, outrageous bliss. And yes when it happens it is amazing. Often thought happiness, at least for me, isn’t so much this extreme joyfulness as a satisfying feeling that life is rewarding and fulfilling. So I’ve come to realise that there are different “states” perhaps even “stages” of happiness. Back in the day, more than forty years ago, I discovered skiing. I’d read about it, how exciting it could be, mainly from the James Bond novel “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. And I’d seen it in films, again “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. James Bond was a fantasy role model for many boys my age. We dreamt of adventure and did what we could to copy our hero, I wanted to travel the world and do cool things like ... eh ... I took up golf, inspired by the novel/ film Goldfinger. Well, it was a start. And then skiing came along which, I discovered, is different to golf in a fundamental way, one that I never really understood at the time nor would I for 46 | OneTribeMagazine.com

another few decades. What was this difference? Well, as much as I wanted to be good at golf I lacked something that was never going to be a problem when I came to start skiing: POWER. James Bond stories were always about someone seeking power, and it’s not a bad place to start in our understanding of our pursuit of happiness.

The upside of going through this experience is that it forces you to ask the question “so what now”? And the shocking realisation that your life could end at any moment forces you to consider what is really important. And that’s perhaps one reason why I can still lose my happy from time to time. I think “hey is this (what I’m doing now) really what I should be doing - right now. Really?” The future, that abstract idea, seems a lot less important than what I’m actually experiencing right at that moment. And what I most want is to be happy. Now when you think

about it that’s a very “childlike state” to be in ... we’ve all heard kids say right at the beginning of a long journey ... “are we there yet”? When we’re young we have all the time in the world but almost zero patience.

their choices with no great drama. In other words, we can always make the best of whatever we are presented with after we choose. Making a choice is more important than what we choose.

I’ll tell you another reason I sometimes question my happiness: Choice. No, not lack of choice but too much choice. In today’s world when we have so much choice we often think “but what if the thing I choose turns out to be not the best choice? I’ll probably make the wrong choice and then I’ll live to regret it.” I’ll tell you this, when you’re ready to die, you’ll know whether you’ve been living “on purpose” by the number of regrets you feel.

So what has this to do with skiing and power and happiness? Well, it’s like this: In golf the harder you can hit the ball accurately the better you do. The idea is to get around the course in the fewest shots. If you can hit the green in two shots instead of three or better yet if you can get near the green with one long shot you will have a significant advantage over your opponent. Oh, and by the way, in golf you are usually playing against an opponent or even yourself (best round, handicap etc).

So is a choice just a fork in the road? And is it the case that whichever choice you make, is that less important than making a choice in a timely and appropriate fashion? People that succeed often make and then correct mistakes quite quickly adapting to the consequences that arise because of

In golf, the power to hit the ball is generated by your body. I’ve always been small and so at a considerable disadvantage. Golf was never going to be my game. The route to James Bond-like adventure would have

to come from somewhere else. Skiing was different, yes you may compete with others but mostly that’s not the point of skiing, it’s about mastering yourself on the mountain, in the circumstance you are present(ed) with. And in skiing, the “power” is never unevenly distributed by nature and body types as it is in golf. You see the power required to ski comes from gravity and its power is available to everyone equally. When you learn to master the techniques of skiing, it’s how you use the power acting upon you that matters not how much you can generate yourself. A good skier has the ability to use the power of gravity to propel them down the mountain with grace and beauty. I believe skiing was where I first learned how to channel and focus almost unlimited power, it’s where I learned to not just ski but to fly. Skiing’s about many things but the better you get at it the more you get used to one

OneTribeMagazine.com | 47

thing above all else: Commitment. At high speeds, you have to make decisions well ahead of implementing them. You have to trust your instincts, your experience, you have to develop skiing wisdom. Get it wrong and there are consequences, sometimes fatal consequences.

it your full and absolute attention. Go through your options, find the thing that works for you now: Not everything will click every time so keep looking until you find that thing and then lose yourself in it. Ignore everything else around you, everything else can wait. Happiness is your secret superpower and it’s incredibly attractive too. So just like Superman (or Supergirl) becoming energised, by the Yellow Sun, plug into something that makes you really (powerful) happy and feel yourself flying.

And skiing is about focus. When you ski you don’t think about anything else. Or else. At some point skiing stopped being a lifestyle thing for me and started to become everything. It taught me so much about doing things right and doing the right things and I ended up teaching others which drove an even deeper understanding and appreciation for what I was capable of. They said we become teachers because the best teachers “teach best what they most need to learn”. I’ve come to realise that just like gravity powering the skier there is something invisible that powers our ability to be happy. We can’t touch it or taste it or smell it. We can’t see it and we certainly can’t explain it yet we can feel it effects just like a skier feels gravity’s pulling them towards the bottom of the mountain. When we are still, when we give ourselves the opportunity to “feel” it, we can sense there is something there that wants to pull us towards finding our happy. And happy isn’t just one thing, it’s so many things or at least it manifests itself as many different things. Working on the principle that “we teach best that which we most need to learn” I’ve be helping people in their own pursuit of happiness lately. It’s a fascinating journey to go on, an amazing adventure, where each person finds it their own way. None of us is on the same path yet all paths lead us to where we need to be going. And happiness it turns out isn’t the destination after all, just like the bottom of the mountain isn’t the destination in skiing but a context to have a skier’s experience in, so happiness is what happens when we pursue something that is vital to us in the present. I’ll share more in consequent articles but remember this - “the power to be happy doesn’t come from us, it IS all around us”. It’s as real as gravity, we just need to learn to find it, focus it, direct it and appreciate it and ... and ... and we start flying. Yes, there are the occasional crash landings and aborted take-offs but all in all

surely this a small price to pay, to soar so high? In the now famous poem “A Return To Love” by Marianne Williamson we find this first line “Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, our greatest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure ....” It’s a good start yet perhaps it would be more accurate to say “our greatest fear is we know we have access to power beyond measure”. Which begs the question “what are we going to do with all that power”? Another well-known saying is “with great power comes great responsibility”. Perhaps having found the unlimited power to be happy, we worry about the responsibility that goes with it. We realise it is our responsibility and ours alone to be happy. I’ll leave you to ponder on this and we will return to it again I’m sure but in the meantime let’s end on a high note .... here are my Top Tips for finding Happy.

TOP FIVE TIPS FOR FINDING YOUR HAPPY 1/ Don’t over think this. Go do something that you know will make you happy, right now. It’s really that simple. Me? I might have a dance to loud music, go for a walk, tear it up on a Mountain Bike or jump on a plane and go somewhere new. Whatever you choose to do whilst you’re doing it really focus on it, give

2/ Lose yourself in some worthwhile task, even if, perhaps especially if, you can’t imagine it being fun. Find something that really needs doing and do it. Again focus on it completely. Ignore everything else around you, everything else can wait. That feeling of completing something that really needed done is so empowering you’ll be punching the sky screaming ... “YEESSSSSS I DID IT”. You’ll feel like you’re flying into the stratosphere. 3/ Pick something that you need to learn, improve on or develop. Write down the improvement you want to see and draw a target with that improvement outcome right at the centre of the target, making it the bullseye. You’ll need a ‘baseline” to measure your progress against so carry out the task and write down this first “baseline” result. Do it again and write down your second result. Do it for the third time and write down the result. Now you have something to measure against write down what actions you believe you’ll need to take to improve to the level set in your bullseye. Set out these actions as a schedule and focus on keeping to the schedule. Don’t let other things distract you. You’ll soon find yourself absorbed in activity and overcoming challenges you thought were insurmountable. Before you know it you’ll be getting results that you thought were beyond you. This is such an affirming type of happy it ends up “wrapping up” those previous two types too. Happiness doesn’t get much “bigger” than this .. until.... 4/ Find a problem that if it was solved would make the world of difference

to a team, community or other group of deserving people. Take the lead, help frame the challenges, find the assets, inspire, encourage and empower those involved. Take responsibility and make it happen. Ignore everything else around you, everything else can wait. You’ll learn that happiness isn’t just about getting the result it’s about doing it with people who discover how good they can be too. It’s sharing the successes and setbacks, the downside as much as the upside. It’s about doing something worthwhile with people that you grow to really care about. Seeing other people happy as a result of us “showing up” is intoxicating. 5/ Become Mindful - remember it’s not all about you. Most folks on this planet don’t give you a moment’s thought nor care about your happiness. Even the people that do care are busy trying to find their own happy. So take

responsibility for your journey. Walk your path with grace, treat people as if they too deserve to be happy, forgive people their thoughtlessness and self-absorption. Notice just how amazing this world is, this is your home and it is immense, ancient, beautiful, dynamic. mesmerising, every changing and the most entertaining place in all the universe. Drink it in, wonder at it, appreciate it, be generous to it and commit yourself to being truly amazed by it. And here’s the thing if the universe can amaze you, shouldn’t you amaze it in return? Isn’t that the deal? And remember the power to do that, is all around you. “Come on then” it says “Amaze me, Amaze Us, Amaze Yourself”!

make the difference in the world. When you find your happy you Inspire, Encourage and Empower others to do the same. Feel the fear, realise it not as fear but excitement ... and go fly as high as you can.

ONLY I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR MY LIFE Samantha Caroline Lavallée | Writer & Lover of all things soul at Beautiful Disaster.

My journey back to loving myself was not a fairy tale by any means.

ONLY I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR MY LIFE✨ It was about admitting the truth that I have neglected the most important relationship of all; THE ONE WITH SELF;

In truth, It was like trekking through a battlefield with various opponents that were there to remind me of all the why’s I was not worthy.

In doing so, all others suffered as a result.

Those opponents where creations that lived in my mind. Beliefs so long ingrained that I knew this was not a one time meeting but only the first of many.

It was about finally daring to lean into myself & stand on the leading edges of what scared me most; my heart’s burning desire to express myself through my life for life itself. To be the translator of my translations with wild abandon and gentle assertiveness.

That’s where I learned what true unconditional love for self was really all about. It was about being grounded in presence & connected to my knowing of who I am; That, I am that of love, I am love. It was about being assertive & compassionate as I built momentum in remembering my own inner strength & raising higher as I moved deeper within. It was about embodying the grace that lived within me & nurturing the space I needed for me to expand, by lovingly swaying to my own flow without apology, without worry or fear of what others would think or how they would react. It was about getting up every morning & showing up for myself. That was the toughest for me initially... Carving out time for myself. Making me a priority & honouring the preciousness of what Creating space for myself looked like & the ways it served me into my very own wellbeing. 50 | OneTribeMagazine.com

It was about being able to truly look at myself with the tears in my eyes as they streamed down my face while feeling into what I was seeing being reflecting back at me in the mirror; Exhaustion from trying to be what everyone else needed me to be for them. Immense sadness & grief for all the times I betrayed my truest desires & needs to only neglect myself into despair & resentment. Regret for not trusting in myself, or in life. Also for not trusting that another could handle a NO...or my HONEST thoughts & feelings. It was about the courage it took to be honest with myself;

It was about letting go of the shame, blame & guilt that uselessly plagued my mind & hindered my heart. To all be dissolved through my very own cultivation of compassionate understanding & loving mercy without any omissions through all of my admissions. No More Exclusions. It was about putting down the defensive armour & engaging with my living naked truth with an open heart that was pulsating with a vulnerability that echoed loudly through my ego which awakened evermore layers of fears that were to be met with love & soothing as they slowly transformed into confidence that was founded not in esteem but within the intrinsic-ness of my innate worth; A worth that was rousing from its sleepily slumber to give rise to more space to raise that little girl within me crying to be set free from the pains & suffering that had her caged in a heart that was locked up like fort knocks. As well as feelings of

It’s about stopping to check in with self & making sure that she is okay. being trapped in a body that was always in survival mode from the memories of the events that were meant to shape her through experience not define her to her very death...no matter the unjustifiable nature of such unacceptable tortures. It was about appreciating the body that has carried her through all these years asking for nothing other than basic nourishment while it did everything to keep her alive; A body that she loathed to no end with so much disgust that she crumbled to her knees upon her understanding that it was not her body causing her the pain & suffering but it was her relationship with her body that caused so much suffering through her own ill perceptions & unachievable ideations planted in her mind of a non-existent perfection that only created destruction & illness through its misplaced understanding of what beauty truly was. The wisdom of knowing that it’s not standards but that of radiance which is emitted from the love expressed through the appreciation of honouring her sacred body temple. Living a tuned in & turned on life that was not tapped out from the efforts of chasing the ever illusive perfection that only instills more dissatisfaction through its very own unattainable nature in quest of the superficial that only keeps the true beauty from within hidden in a sea of lies entangled in a web of darkness that only continues to drown her to its unfathomable depths of illusions. It’s about no longer giving a damn about what she should be as the dams of her being burst back to life with waves upon waves of aliveness that can no

longer stand another minute of tolerating mediocrity & fakeness for the sake of keeping others happy. She learns that she is not responsible for another’s happiness. It is a futile journey filled with hoops to jump & ladders to climb that tire her out & enables another in remembering that they too are responsible for their very own precious state of joy and wellbeing. A Poignant realization that rippled through her with shocks that bring her back to life with each choice she makes as she embraces them through her being for her sacred wellbeing. It’s about showing up even when she rather hide and sleep from the real effort it takes to heal, to clean up the messes, no matter who made them. Refuting to waste her precious time for the silly blame game that is too so very fruitless. Rather choosing to honour her brave heart as she cries her way through the discomfort of these trying times with a knowing that it’s the only way to comfort. This is where she grows. It’s about stopping to check in with self & making sure that she is okay. That she is not distracted with other things less important & not needing her immediate attention. As well as making sure that she is not being too hard on herself or harsh as she journeys through. Caring about how she navigates or deviates is so vital to learning how she deals with it all and then finding ways that are healthy and supportive for her in an empowering way that no longer accepts the enabling that serves to retreat back to victim consciousness or to stay stuck within the stagnation of survival mode. She strives to serve her thriving heart. It’s about the clarity received by being the observer through nurturing the space of her nature as needed through her presence. That of which can basque within her stillness while simultaneously motioning forth with honest open hearted awareness. It’s about celebrating every part of her. Every version of herself; past, present & visions of her future selves.

is sometimes just what she needs to remember how resilient she truly is. A remembrance anchored in faith that allows her to keep on her path of self love to her own flow. Understanding that this is the path that leads to all the great loves said to be out there... all through the power of meeting herself she can meet others with much more depths. The deeper she dives in the deeper the connections she enlivens & embodies with self and all others.

That’s what it’s about, all of it. No exclusions only all inclusive open honest loving for all that she was, all that she is & all that she is becoming. A bold commitment to love the hell out of herself by creating the safe haven within herself that looks a lot like heaven to her. That’s what it still is all about; She still continues to stumble & fall, yet she always rises with much more ease & at a faster pace through the grace she has embraced through her nurturing that has been cultivated within herself by simply daring to love her whole self for who she truly is wholeheartedly into her stunning radiant vibrant wellbeing. Wellbeing is met through loving your whole being; light, darkness and shadows. That the beautiful wholesomeness of a sacred living that honours all of self. That’s how she is learning about herself, about life itself; through her unlearning of all the ways in which she hasn’t honoured, cherished and celebrated loving herself. A journey that moves through love, towards love, through loving herself. That’s what it’s always about; embodying her living breathing raising rising love for love itself, as she is love. How to Become

Awake, Aware, Alive. Larry J. Rosenberg, PhD, CEO, The Larry Show, Sedona, Arizona (www.TheLarryShow.com) More and more people these days don’t want to settle for an ordinary existence; they aspire and strive for an extraordinary life – full of vitality, adventure, creativity, goodness, beauty and inspiration. Ah, but how to get in shape for such as transformed and super-happy life?

and control are employed. The vast majority of us don’t questions things, or not that much. We call our world reality (seemingly objective), although it is based on beliefs (basically subjective). But there is the possibility of awakening to a new way of regarding reality. There are two types of awakening: Internal awakening is a realization of who you are, and external awakening is a recognition of what’s going on in the world.

In my personal growth, I have found it useful to focus on three ways to ascend a life from good to great. Along with ambitious goals, inspiring affirmations and consistent actions, these three practices can provide powerful boosts for many more people to climb higher on the it’s a wonderful life scale. Here are the 3As stated as present-tense states of being: • I am awake to positive inner guidance and external engagement. • I am aware of the abundant treasures this world holds. • I am alive to living life fully in whatever I am being and doing. There is overlap in these statements, which I see as reinforcing and beneficial while on life’s often-rugged road. While I shall explain the 3As, I invite you to adjust them to where you are in your life, where you desire to go, and how fast you want to get there. Actually all of you are already there, but you have to significantly elevate your consciousness to actually believe it and live it. Awakening to a New Perspective “I awoke, only to find the rest of the world still sleeping.” - Leonardo da Vinci

52 | OneTribeMagazine.com

The normal state of life for most people on the Earth is sleep walking. That is because you have been conditioned as children to be confirming and obedient members of your family and society, who instilled in you certain rules for living when we were children – thus not mature enough to do anything but accept them – and who enforce them using various positive and negative means. This process is useful so that people in various groupings know how to fit in and function. While each country, locality and group has its own cultural specificity, the same essential process is occurring. We are told who we are (self), how to think (mind) and feel (heart), and how to behave (body). Conformity and consistency, command

Two human processes can shatter, both internally and externally, your primary conditioning. The first is mental-emotional development, which involves exploring, discovering and accepting your own authority. For many over time, the group norms stop feeling right or making sense to you, and they generate unhappiness and suffering. You feel different than the others in your group. As you interact with the world, you question, challenge and may even escape from your world. You see your emerging reality as more valid than what you were taught, and new benefits and satisfactions emerge as your life evolves beyond your original norms and habits. As a result, you are getting in touch with your self-authenticity, which newly defines your sense of personal integrity. So you may take personal development courses, and associate with higher-consciousness people than you grew up with. This is a more gradual and incremental approach to finding yourself and creating a new life. This is the Western way of looking at personal growth.

The second approach to transforming your initial programming is spiritual realization. It involves a bold elevation of consciousness, a paradigm shift, or a spiritual awakening. This process is typically characterized by a sudden and dramatic realization, which has been called enlightenment. This perspective comes from the Eastern approach to consciousness, defined as a revolution rather than an evolution. Your shift to a spiritual level is full of euphoric epiphany and related insights. In it, you typically recognize the essential wholeness, completeness and perfection of reality, exactly as it is. Separation and conflict give way to unity and oneness. James Allen has said, “The spirit of [the human] is inseparable from the Infinite, and can be satisfied with nothing less than the Infinite.” According to Alan Watts, “The fact is that because no one thing or feature of this universe is separable from the whole, the only real You, or Self, is the whole.” Of course, total spiritual ascension is easier pronounced than produced. It usually comes to us, rather than being the assured outcome of study and striving. Our minds, full of our past beliefs as reinforced by our experiences, resist the fundamental simplicity and wisdom of our existence and purpose: There is nothing we need to do or achieve, beyond being in the fullness of the present moment. Then we can see

clearly what is happening to us. This simple yet profound shift substantially changes our understanding of reality. Here are examples of new beliefs: Whatever happens is the only thing that could have happened; your most fundamental freedom is to choose within the present moment; the now moment and the human Soul are generated by the Infinite; the perfection of the Universe lies within its complete integrity and wholeness, with room inside for the smaller imperfections of human experience; suffering in the Universe makes sense because it is contained within an Infinite Benevolence, beyond the limits of one’s comprehension; as the Universe is Infinite, it is continuously manifesting in and through your personal finite experiences; and while each Realization is unique to each individual, everyone can ultimately recognize the same Divine Presence. Because awakening is the tearing down of all your original and cherished beliefs and everything you thought about yourself, it is extremely disruptive and difficult. You must come face to face with your shadows, where your false ideas exist. The only way to transform is to surrender, which requires brutal self-honesty. It is a path of total acceptance of the Truth – involving tearing off your masks (roles played), tearing down the facades of your beliefs (actually illusions), and tearing out the lies you have lived as truths.

But we are very attached to our long-held lies. Most people want to hold on to the familiar illusions and yet awaken at the same time. That is not possible, as it would be only polishing the ego, rather then a genuine awakening. Once you wake up, it is impossible to go completely back to sleep. Becoming awake is socially beneficial: As Noah Levine puts it, “Waking up is not a selfish pursuit of happiness; it is a revolutionary stance, from the inside out, for the benefit of all beings in existence.” Awareness of the Precious Details “Earth’s crammed with heaven...But only he who sees, takes off his shoes.” - Elizabeth Barrett Browning Once you truly awaken, especially according to the spiritual realization version, your attention flows as intuitive awareness regarding what is happening within you and around you. You are in the present moment and can see things, even familiar things, as if for the first time. Your knowledge and discernment are sharpened. You look for more, and can see much more. Higher consciousness means you scan wider, probe deeper, grasp relationships, and profoundly understand and learn. Your greater awareness makes you more intelligent, creative and productive, because you see more of what is important to the core elements of your life and

world. You notice what is relevant to you and others, and recognize the patterns of meaning that enhance your ability to resolve issues and pursue opportunities. Being a master of details – such as the smell of roses and sincerity of another’s smile – enables you to enjoy more and becomes the basis of richer conversations, deeper trusting, and stronger relationships. Heightened awareness feeds your Soul, helps you see the specifics in the eternal, and floods your being with more light and love. With your new awareness, you more likely gain these capabilities and insights: Letting life happen, rather than forcing it to happen; smiling more, which releases positive and pleasant brain chemicals; knowing the superlative connections among yourself, other people and Nature; feeling gratitude for all you see and have; generating more spontaneity in the now moment, rather than being in the past or the future; dispensing with worrying, which is always unproductive; minimizing tension and conflict; interpreting self and others much less, if at all; ceasing the judgment of self and others; and moving into unconditional love from loving with attached expectations. After spiritual awakening, you can be more fully aware as a human being. You can achieve more of your potential for knowing what is happening in your life and the world, and realize you are at peace in your heart and in harmony with the others’ hearts. You behold ample evidence that you are the Founder and CEO of your life, rather than an ego-limited Manager. Your life has expanded in many and profound ways – body, mind, emotions and spirit. The Source is with you, not just in theory, but also in the matrix of living. Aliveness to Your Life Force “It’s worth making time to find the things that really stir your soul. That’s what makes you really feel alive.” - Roy T. Bennett There is a big difference to being awakened and thus more aware, compared merely to existing, behaving lifeless and walking as if dead. This is about feeling fully alive and fulfilled, thus raising your perceived quality of life. It means that you are in the flow of a vivid, vibrant and lively life. Your life force is operating in an optimal way. This heightened energy in you is more valuable than your figuring out the meaning of life. 54 | OneTribeMagazine.com

How do you enter and remain in this magnificent state of aliveness? According to David Foster Wallace, “It is unimaginably hard to do this, to stay conscious and alive in the adult world day in and day out.” Being fully alive is not how the vast majority of people think, feel and behave. But based on your awakened condition and hyperawareness, you can choose thoughts and turn on the emotions to be alive, positive and enthusiastic about life. As you surrender your feelings and actions to the present moment, denying attention to the past or the future, you feel more aliveness and the resulting enjoyment of who you are, what you are doing, and what you have. Shannon L. Alder goes even further, “The true definition of mental illness is when the majority of your time is spent in the past or future, but rarely living in the realism of NOW.” Even when pain and suffering befalls, you can choose to feel the fundamental life force and live your life as a positive story. Being into aliveness activates more inner resources that make negativity and compromise unnecessary, so that you can access a zest for life. With a greater repertoire for personal expression, you can do what causes you to feel alert and alive. Creative possibilities are more easily accessed when you are truly alive, with positive intent and in touch with greater creativity and energetic manifestation. Alive people attract like-minded people. You find and maintain the connections and interactions to share experiences with people who feel, think and act a lot like you. Being alive produces an overarching energetic bonding that is more prominent and enduring than whatever differences in views and style exist between them and you. Even when you feel imperfect, you can be feeding an aliveness that yields other benefits. Jhumpa Lahiri has affirmed, “Imperfection inspires invention, imagination, creativity. It stimulates. The more I feel imperfect, the more I feel alive.” You can amaze yourself that access to a state of aliveness can overcome other situations that might otherwise throw you off and weigh you down – such as feeling the pressure of rigid social rules on your life, and not feeling in control of your life.

Spending quality time in Nature is a powerful way to uplift your spirits and intensify your aliveness. Marty Rubin states, “Nature is impulsive. To be impulsive is to be fully alive.” Anything that touches our heart – such as a baby, puppy, field of wildflowers and surprise party – taps into the deeper purpose that makes feeling more alive your new normal state of life. Again Marty Rubin, “We don’t need faith or poetry or wealth or knowledge to feel fully alive. Life itself is enough.” Experiencing yourself and the world from the viewpoint of wholeness unleashes aliveness. Richard Moss puts it, “It is more than just physical vitality, it is radiance, coming from being at one with yourself and your experience. Life then flows through you.” I have been practicing being awake, aware and alive for a decade. It has helped me heal lingering beliefs installed in my past that no longer serve me (such as fear, anger, shame and guilt), grow my talents and gift (as an inspirational entertainer) to as high as my potential allows, and share my shows, workshops and coaching with audiences around the world (having performed 43 times in the United States, Australia and Scotland during the past four years) to contribute to a better world – with more love, joy and peace in it. I invite you to try the 3As for yourself, to get more out of life and give more to the world – which in essence are the same thing.

Anticipation in the

NOW Jennifer Thorp | Author, Photographer and Life Alchemist

Anticipating a plan is much different than planning or executing a plan. It’s exciting to anticipate the newness each day brings to be sure, but to watch and realize my ideas, no matter what the scale of them might be, that is quite exciting to anticipate the moments as if to be living the before. Anticipation of the growth of our seeds has conditions that are completely up to the individual, that being the garden of good and evil. I see my life as all that is positive, so,I guide my anticipation in the direction of that which is most pleasing. As with this snippet like discovery and adventures of day-to-day life and destinations.

In August 2018 I began gearing up for my annual Parks tour which really, I’d been thinking about (in anticipation of) since the one prior. It’s a road trip that covers multiple states and lasts few weeks. There’s a bit of supply gathering, reservation making and scheduling I do to get ready. Ok, I do enough planning, so that I put details of my trip on a spread sheet in order to stay in check with myself. I anticipate my needs and wants right down to counting out vitamins, tea bags and toothpaste, All of which were going as planned in preparation for the vacation. That is to say, until one of my teeth broke a week before my departure date. The short end of this is I moved everything around and went to the dentist twice with little more than a shift on the calendar.

more than talking about life and actions speak louder than words. That said, I didn’t misuse the power of now, I simply dismissed it. What surprises me most about embracing my own presence, is that I have and use the power of now. I have Presence with the present. My relationship with now is growing to the point where,I really am living step by step, more fully than I did even a year ago.

The ease came when the “now”stepped in and lent support to make anticipation creation mode of this road trip master, accept changes and grow in a positive direction. So while I’m actually on the trip, typing on my phone using my pages app seated on the back of a motorcycle, I’d like to bring two points to those who might have gotten this far and want a means to the end of the story. Years ago, I read Eckart Tolle’s book “The Power Of Now” and did nothing with the content except to feel that the book gave no magic solutions to whatever made me think reading it would fix. Looking back, I mentioned to friends and likely gave the impression that it was not just a good book, I suggested that it’s content was worthy, which I feel is true. Easy to talk about stuff, but living is quite

So to follow my own example here, I really never missed a beat in adapting to change. The planning and excitement at full force, loosing a tooth while eating a fig was not part of anything I ever anticipated. Nor were redirecting my energies and resources. The use of “now” realized and worked out better than I could have thought had I lost myself down a worry worm hole. Years ago I might have gone there and reached a point of no return. Not so today. My Anticipation is learning to enjoy the real thing wherever I find my own presence in the now, before the moment goes to waste.
