Zoe Ball, Lauren Laverne, Sara Cox and Mary Anne Hobbs are now helping to balance the gender issue across the biggest daytime radio shows in the UK – a seismic shift from the historically double-decked male dominance. In this special Women’s Work panel we are joined by the women ‘holding it down’ in the North of Ireland – the voices, the curators, the ground breakers featuring Caroline Fleck (Downtown), Lisa Flavelle (Belfast 89fm), Mairead Campbell (BBC Radio One) and Emer Maguire (BBC Radio Ulster). This panel is suited to those trying to break into radio as either a presenter or producer. It also offers an opportunity for musicians trying to get their music played to meet the people responsible for introducing new acts to big audiences.
