Air Diffusers Drum Louvers Introduction KMC Drum louvers have adjustable vanes for spread control , mounted in rotatable drum to control vertical deflection. These louvers offer long air pattern projection with a high degree of directional control and supply air to spaces that cannot be served by duct work and conventional outlets due to structural or architectural restrictions.
Application • High capacity supply air outlet with adjustable directional blades for jet or diffused air patterns and vertical directional control • Recommended for HVAC installations which require long or short throw patterns and trajectory control • Ideally suited for accurate directional control of conditioned air within large spaces such as malls, exhibit halls, sports arenas, industrial and manufacturing facilities, atrium areas, and large office building entrances • Supplies straight 0° jet air patterns for extremely long throw requirements and diffused air patterns up to 30° spread for installations which require shorter throws and greater air diffusion patterns • Vertical direction is adjustable from 0° to ±30°
Product Features • Constructed from extruded aluminum profiles. • Drum is constructed from Aluminum sheet and specially shaped extruded aluminum profiles • Cylindrical drum pivoted within a 32mm outer frame • Foam gasket is used on the rear of the frame to avoid air leakage • Opposed blade damper is available in standard aluminum • Deflection louvers or blades of the drum are individually adjustable, rear pivoted, and provide spread control at various angles from 0° to 30°
Options • Available in nominal heights of 150mm, 200mm, 250mm, 300mm 375mm • Powder coated to RAL 9010 as standard
Selection Procedure Selections can be made by means of a straight read-off from the “Performance Data” for the selected model. • Determine the air volume flow rate per outlet. • Establish the required Throw (Refer Notes for Throw Pattern) • Select the diffuser based on required Air flow rate against the limiting pressure drop and sound level requirements.

Typical Specification - EGG Crate Grilles (Grid Core) Drum Louvers (DLAA) KMC Model DLAA Drum Louver shall be furnished and installed where shown on the plans. The drum louver shall provide means for directional control of the supply air in both the horizontal and vertical planes. Horizontal control shall be adjustable up to a 30 degree spread angle, utilizing individually adjustable vanes. The ratio of blade depth to blade spacing shall be greater than 1. Directional control in the vertical plane shall be adjustable plus or minus 30 degrees from horizontal, by rotating the drum about its central axis. The drum louver shall be constructed of aluminum extrusions. The drum assembly shall rotate on pivots at each end of the drum. Both horizontal and vertical discharge directions shall be independently adjustable.

The mounting frame shall include gasketing around the perimeter to prevent leaks and smudging between the mounting surfaces and the frame. The supply outlet shall also include seals between the rotatable drum assembly and the mounting frame to prevent leaks. Provide optional opposed blade volume damper, as indicated, integral with the drum assembly. The volume damper shall not limit the drum rotation through the full 60 degree angular travel. The finish shall be Powder coated to RAL 9010 ( white ) or custom color as scheduled.
