Sleep Apnea Increases Risk of Heart and Brain Disorders Sleep apnea is a sleep related disorder most often seen in overweight patients. It causes frequent arousals throughout the night due to not breathing for ten seconds or longer, leading to low oxygen levels. Frequent arousals can then cause a variety of issues, such as chronic sleep deprivation, problems with mood and concentration, and poor memory. Many studies have also shown a strong relationship between sleep apnea and heart diseases, such as hypertension, weak heart muscle, irregular heart rhythm, and possibly heart attacks. Sleep apnea can lead to an increased risk of brain disorders such as dementia, stroke, and depression. Recent studies also show a strong relationship between sleep apnea and early dementia. Early detection of sleep apnea and immediate intervention is very crucial to reduce cardiac and brain dysfunctions.

Health Article Patients who suffer from disrupted sleep, snoring at night, excessive daytime sleepiness, morning headaches, depression, attention impairment, morbid obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia should discuss their sleep pattern and complaints with their primary physician as soon as possible. Patients should receive a sleep disorder consultation and evaluation, which may require an overnight sleep study, in order to prevent a catastrophic and serious cardiac or brain disorder. Simple steps could be taken in order to mitigate the risks for those who have sleep apnea: weight reduction program, daily exercises, maintaining ideal body weight, maintaining adequate sleep hygiene, avoiding smoking, and avoiding alcohol. Medical therapies for sleep apnea may include a CPAP, dental device or an ENT surgical intervention. By Dr Anas Nahhas.

Your Beautiful Skin Make sure you always (and we mean always) remove your makeup before hitting the sheets. The skin needs to breathe overnight. And makeup prevents that, as leaving it on overnight clogs the pores which may cause blemishes and/or blackheads. Don’t possess a makeup remover? Just put some olive oil on a cotton pad and gently massage the oil onto your face to get rid of the makeup and dirt. Don’t forget that exfoliation is indispensable. At least once or twice a week, exfoliate your skin to remove the layers of dead skin, sure to leave you with a healthier glow and brighter skin. You can also apply a paste of walnut in powder form with yogurt to exfoliate your skin, as the antioxidants present in walnuts help remove dirt and promote radiant skin. Never forget to exfoliate your skin and remove the makeup before calling it a night.

Your Wedding... Many mistakes happened when planning a wedding. First and foremost, don’t blow off the planned budget. It costs significant amount of money to have a wedding party. Excited brides sometimes start booking vendors and making purchases without having an actual real budget. People find out that they spent all the money (or their parents’ money) and haven’t got half way. Planning a wedding is serious matter. To be able to have the wedding wanted, create a budget and keep track of the spending. Second, order the wedding gown early. Start immediately shopping for the wedding dress. Find the place where the couture gown will be purchased. Order it as soon as possible and have it custom-made to fit the body perfectly. Allow enough time for the shipping and fittings. Even off-the-rack dresses most often require alterations, make sure you have enough time to get the dress properly fitted. Make sure your body won’t change before the wedding. 24

Funny Horoscope Virgo

You regulate your breathing and color-coordinate the clothes in your closet. No Virgo in history has ever belched. Virgos clean every square inch of everything they own twice daily with a toothbrush. Everything has its place, and yours is on the floor scrubbing with a magnifying glass, checking for germs. Obsessive-compulsive disorder? A nice euphemism for the word “Virgo”. Virgos use pointers and elaborate charts to describe philosophical concepts. You commit a lot of drive-by shootings. When you are questioned, you tell the police that it was because “the bastard had a filthy car”. The police usually let you go because they are Virgos too. It is easy to freak out a Virgo. Tell them they have something between their teeth. Then watch them scrub frantically at the imaginary thing. Virgos are a hell of a lot of fun for people like us. Virgos also have a hard time coping when they find out there’s

something under the fridge. But it’s usually just a depressed Taurus. Virgos have read enough Hints from Heloise to know that the depressed Taurus can be coaxed out from under the fridge with a banana wine cooler. Virgos don’t see the world in shades of black and white. They see it in shades of clean and dirty. Cat hair makes Virgos foam at the mouth. Virgos are cool because they will do your laundry for you. They’ll separate everything by color and fabric until it consists of fourteen loads of three things apiece. Then they will put them in the washer in alphabetical order by name of manufacturer. Virgos are often found opening and shutting the refrigerator door, attempting to trick the light inside. Don’t put cheese where it doesn’t belong in a Virgo’s refrigerator. Virgo will go Jack Torrence on your a**. You will be stabbed with a cuticle pusher. Jack Torrence was probably a Virgo in the first half of “The Shining”. After that, he went all Leo. By the way, Virgo, you are a pain in the a**.
