Horoscope

Pisces

(Feb. 21 - March 20) Everywhere you go, laughter and comedy ensue. This would be great if you were trying to be funny. You are deeply confused by the idea of sex. As far as you are concerned, if it didn’t happen in “The Velveteen Rabbit”, it doesn’t exist. Piscean women wear long floaty dresses and enormous amounts of unusual silver jewelry. On hikes. Pisceans claim to love the stars, but the only constellation they can find is the Big Dipper. If they cannot find it, they cry. You remember what you were wearing on March 3rd, 1981 but forget your own address. You have no sense of direction. The people you find going in reverse at 70 m.p.h. on the expressway are usually Pisceans. Pisceans are most likely to die by falling out of a window or getting run over by a truck. That is, of course, unless they live with a Cancer. Pisceans are so zoned and perpetually endangered that they can bring out the maternal instincts of a Leo. Don’t be fooled, however; many Pisceans can surprise you by kicking your ass and the asses of your four imaginary friends. While Leos tend to achieve the

most fame in the field of entertainment, Pisceans strive to achieve historical greatness by sheer fluke. They are proud to tell you that Michelangelo, Galileo, George Washington, and Albert Einstein, none of whom had an agent, were all Pisceans. What they won’t tell you is that so is Ted Kennedy. Pisceans claim to want “honest criticism” of their work. Then they commit hara-kiri on the floor when you say you don’t like it. Never try to use logic with a Pisces; he or she is living about three feet off of the natural ground or in Narnia. Their tools of debate are non-sequiturs, quotes from Elizabeth Barrett Browning, and, of course, crying. It wouldn’t matter what linguistic devices Pisceans use to describe philosophical concepts because they aren’t positive, they know what they’re talking about anyway. You cry over dead animals in the road but feel no remorse about mowing down humans you don’t like. Cancerians say one thing and do another. Scorpios say one thing and do it just for spite. Pisceans say far too much and do whatever the hell they want.

Changes, Ep. 2 “Yeah, I know. It’s just, there aren’t many people to talk to, you know? I don’t like making friends cause I don’t like keeping secrets from them,” Phillipa explained as she took out her lunch from her backpack. Chloe studied Phillipa for a bit. She seemed so nice, it’s hard to believe she didn’t have any friends. “So, what’s your favorite?” Phillipa asked out of nowhere, taking a bite of a Caesar salad and staring up at Chloe expectantly. “My favorite...” Chloe trailed off. Phillipa swallowed and tapped the back of Chloe’s hand, gesturing to the light blue nail polish Chloe magically changed. “Oh. Uh, well, I don’t really know. I like to experi-

Episode Two Phillipa’s eyes widened and a grin spread across her face. She almost jumped out of her seat in excitement. “Seriously?! Oh my god, finally, I thought I was the only one!” she exclaimed, gaining the attention of the other students around the two. “Okay, okay, relax. Scream it to the whole world while you’re at it,” Chloe retorted sarcastically, raising an eyebrow at the eager girl. Phillipa blushed. “Right, sorry,” she muttered, biting her lip to keep her smile from widening more. “But it’s so exciting. I never told anyone about this.” Chloe nodded her head. “Good. It shouldn’t exactly be a public thing,” she replied, glancing around them. Phillipa nodded in agreement and smiled brightly at Chloe, who furrowed her brows in confusion. She’s so different than she is in class. “You’re a lot more...you know, talkative,” Chloe told her, taking a bite of her peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Phillipa smiled sheepishly, shrugging her shoulders as she twirled her blonde hair with her finger.

ment.” Phillipa nodded eagerly. “Me, too. My favorite is a blackbird, though. It feels so good to get in the air without like, an airplane or whatever, though I did crash into a tree once or twice.” Her words took Chloe aback, who stared at her with wide eyes and a confused expression. “I’m sorryblackbird?” Phillipa nodded as she took another bite of her salad. Chloe knit her brows. “I...I don’t understand.” Phillipa’s face fell. “Oh. Oh. Are you not-?’ “No, no I am, but I can’t-” Chloe glanced around her to make sure no one was listening then leaned in closer to Phillipa. “I can’t change into animals. I can change how I look.” Phillipa’s eyes widened. “Like, your hair and eyes and stuff?” Chloe nodded. “That is so cool! I can’t do that.” Chloe assessed the situation. She could change how she looked- and make herself look like other people- and Phillipa could turn into animals. “So we To continue readiing see pg. 23

Spring Fashion 2021

Hyatt Magazine - Fashion 2021 Photo Credit: Anas Ismail Dress By: Anez Fashion Model: Zena 20

Hyatt Magazine/ Issue 104

Anez is a clothing brand that started by two sisters Lena and Zena. Zena is the designer behind Anez as her sister is the PR behind the scenes. Zena graduated with a BFA in fashion design from Columbia College Chicago in 2016. When she graduated, she noticed the options for ethically and sustainably clothing was limited. Her design philosophy is inspired by traditional Middle Eastern cultural garb and encompasses a fusion between wearable versatility, sustainability, and size-inclusivity. Zena’s designs are meant to be worn multiple times and can be worn in a variety of ways. She aspires to use natural biodegradable fabrics such as silks and wools with zero waste in mind. The pieces are designed to fit multiple body types comfortably. Timeless silhouettes, luxurious fabrics and colors, and purpose inspire the line. She draws inspiration from everywhere especially nature when she designs. Her newest collection was inspired by the autumn colors. She looks at fall flowers such as dianthus and the changing of colors of nature that inspired her for the fall collection and their newest fabric. The way the fabric moves reminds her of the way leaves move when they fall from trees. As she designs with versatility in mind the wrap dress can be worn multiple ways because there are slits for the ties on both sides of the dress. The dress can be tied in multiple ways to fit any style and can even be worn as a duster for a more causal look. The cape is a staple in Zena’s line because as the temperatures drops you need something to keep you warm but the cape can also be rolled up to be worn as a scarf during the winter. The skirt is a staple piece that can be worn causally or to a fancier event. You

can also throw on some boots for a fall look. Zena loves to design versatile because she wants the customer to have her pieces for a long time. She takes in mind that women want to dress more modestly because of her background but they also want to be fashion forward. She hopes to continue and harness the next wave of fashion; sustainability. You can also check out her line at wearanez.co

Mix all ingredients well (except tomatoes which will be grilled). Place chicken mixture in fridge for 30 min. Divide into 8-10 equal portions. With moistened hands, insert a wide flat skewer through each portion and mold the meat around the skewer to a length of about 5 in. Suspend finished skewers over a deep baking dish. Place tomatoes on a skewer as well. Place all on a grill for 10-15 min turning them as needed. You can grill them in the oven instead at 400ºF on the top rack for about 15-20 min (turning them over halfway through) then broil them for about 5 min (turning them over again). Serve with pita bread, garlic sauce, the grilled tomatoes, your favorite salad, and pickles. Enjoy by: Abumallek Makes and Bakes. Dr Anas Nahhas Advertisement
