Action Story: Episode 6 Last Episode By: Haya Barakat Lured Inside I wake up, so dizzy with my head pounding, in what I think at first is my bed, safe and sound in my bedroom. Did someone find me and bring me back to my parents? My vision is blurry and hazy at first, but I can soon make out the white walls and the bright light shining in my eyes, and that’s when it hits me. I’m not home. I’m in a hospital room. I slowly sit upright, my head aching, and look down at myself. I look terrible. I’m wearing a clean white and blue hospital gown, but other than that, I look horrible. My body is covered with scratches, bruises, stitches, and my right leg and my left arm are in casts. I look around the hospital room and see my old clothes lying in the chair by the door. But the chair isn’t empty. My mom, sleeping soundly, is sitting there, all my stuff on her lap. She obviously doesn’t know I’m awake, and probably doesn’t know the whole story of what happened to me.

Just then, a male doctor walks in with a pen and clip board. He looks up and see me awake. His face brightens and he walks up to me, then starts questioning me. What exactly happened? How did you get all the way to the abandoned house? How do you feel? I answer all these questions with ease, and the doctor informs me that Holt and Tony, the two guys that kind of kidnapped me, have been arrested and are serving at least three years in jail. I’m pretty pleased by that thought. I look behind the doctor and see my mom waking up. Her eyes open and her face lights up when she sees me awake and okay. Well, a little okay. I still feel like someone’s banging a gigantic hammer against my head. “Ethan! I’m so glad you’re okay!” My mom exclaims, then hugs me, though not as hard as to hurt me or anything. The doctor leaves the room to give my mom and I some privacy, which I’m thankful for. I explain every-

thing that happened to my mom, every little detail. When I’m done, she lectures me about going into strangers’ cars and other things like that, but I only half listen. I’m in too much pain to listen to anyone talk about anything, anyways. I go home and finally rest in my own bed two days after that. The next day, I’m going to school in a wheelchair with a broken arm and leg, and everyone knows exactly what happened to me from the news, and I’m officially the most popular kid in my school. I continue to work hard and get all my assignments completed and turned in on time. I escaped two tough, grown men and their evil German Shepard dog giving me back to my parents for money, a huge tornado, and an abandoned house collapsing on me. I think I can survive middle school, as well.

The End
