About us Hyatt Magazine is a free social and cultural magazine, featuring events, entertainment, lifestyle, business data, leisure, and lore. “Hyatt” in Arabic Language means Life. Its events and news guide targeting heavy populated Middle-Eastern community in south and south west Chicago Suburb. Hyatt Magazine published monthly to promote coverage area in informative and positive manner, and it’s distributed throughout the area by several channels (Retail Locations, Medical Offices, Salons, Restaurants, and more) You’ll find our magazine enlightening and interesting articles are written by someone like yourself, who cares about the community. We welcome contributions of articles and photos; however, they will be subject to editing and availability of space and subject matter. 5th Annual St. George Festival

Sunday June 2nd the Fellowship of St John the Divine, housed at St George church held its 5th annual St George Festival. The festival held dozens events including carnival games, pony rides, food, two moon jumps , a basketball tournament and much more. This Festival serves to not only entertain but educate St George and its surrounding community. Often times the community of cicero does not know about the great number of serves St George Church provides. So one way of doing this was through the many educational booths at the festival. One Such booth was that of Care Packets of the Needy. Care Packets of the Needy is an outreach program administered Father Nicolas Dahdal, Sdn Joseph and Alex Damarjian and designed to help anyone in need. Through this program the parishioners of St George Travel into some of the roughest areas in the City of Chicago. With the help of such Wonderful companies such as Walgreen and EInstein Bagels, we distribute care packets to those in need. Recently the group met with Walgreen and distributed over 50 Care Packets to the homeless and disadvantaged Downtown. 6
With the understanding that many of the homeless downtown are transient each care packet contained gloves, shaving cream, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other non perishable items. The Event before last the Care Packets Group visited a Shelter for battered Arab women. There the distributed over 80 care packets containing medicine and hygiene products. The Festival also showcased another group called OOCHY.
OOCHY is also administered by Father Nicholas Dahdal and Gordana Trbuhovich. This group visits dozens of schools a year and teaches them the importance of living a drug free life. They also visit department stores with many of the teens at church. With the permission of the stores they tag all of the items with stickers indicating the age requirement for the purchasing of the products. These are just a few of the dozens of support services St George Provides. Furthermore, all of the proceeds of the festival go directly into supporting all of these activities. Aqsa’s Ceremony
Communities Collaborate to Support Healthy Living Initiatives… On Monday June 3rd, the mayor, board members, community members, families and supporters joined Aqsa School students and staff to celebrate the grand opening of the long awaited playground and sports court! The park, which includes a colorful jungle gym and new courts with quality flooring containing within it a soccer, tennis, badminton, volleyball and basketball court, was a grassroots effort supported by Aqsa’s wonderful Mother’s Club, the Model Communities Grant to facilitate active living, the US Cellular Calling All

Communities Campaign, Aqsa School students, staff, administration and of course, our beloved community! Aqsa School hopes to continue creating initiatives for a healthier generation! The ribbon cutting ceremony brought together everyone who made the new additions possible in order to thank each supporter and celebrate together. Tammie Ismail, the principal of Aqsa states, “Our students and staff dreamed big and our community worked with dedication and perseverance to make that dream a reality and it is something our school is grateful for.
