On March 22, 2014, a concert held for super star Ali Al deek and Anwar El Amir at a local banquet in the Northside. The concert was hosted by Rami T Jaber. The doors opened at 9pm, many Middle Eastern people attended that night. Before the concert began dj was played many hip Middle Eastern music, then was the appearance of the first singer, Anwar El Amir who came to the stage. Anwar El Amir is a young Lebanese singer with a beautiful voice and nice personality. He loved music ever since he was a child so he learned the rules and regulations of music and lute in the Beirut Institute of Fine Arts. He started singing at a very young age in 1995. Anwar started his career officially in year 2000 launching his song “Habib Inaya” and in 2008 he released his album “Kifo” which included 9 songs: Habib inaya, ageblak menin, ma bghar, hasadouna, wahshani einik, beqalbak khabini, bila nom, betrouh, kifo. Leaving best for last Superstar Ali Al Deek, his real name is Ali Harmez, is a Syrian popular singer coming from Ras Al Bsit Al Badrousseya region (Dourane village) of the Governorate of Lattaquié, one of the most beautiful places of Syrian littoral. His beginning happened in 1997. His fame in the Arab world began, in 2000 with his music style issued from the folklore of the Lattaquié region’ so distinct and light with the rhythms of Syrian Dabka (a percussion style). Ali Al Deek sang more than 180 songs where the most known are “Al Sardouk” (the

cock), “Al Ha Soudy”, “Al Chah Bandar”, “Ayouch”, “Hasna”, “Al Mawâad”, “A Kroumi Laqini” and “Abou Chahada”. These songs were recorded in 5 albums among them we have “Mounawaât” (middle-of-the-road popular songs), “Abou Chahada” and “Ayouch”, his best sellers. Not only Ali Al Deek and Anwar El Amir performed in the Northside but also in the Southside. On March 23, 2014, a local hookah lounge called Hollywood Smokes Hookah & Cigars in Orland Park, IL was held a private party. The night was hosted by Hasan, owner of Hollywood Smokes Hookah & Cigars. The private event started at 9 pm with dinner and with many great hookah flavor to choose from. The music by the superstar Ali Al Deek and Anwar El Amir took everyone with joy also being at Hollywood Smokes Hookah.

Fashion & Belly Dance

Belly Dancers on Al Hambra’s Stage. Surayah

A way to start of the spring season at Al Hambra Palace with fashion and belly dancing. On March 30, 2014, a showcase was held for over 20 beautiful performance of belly dancing to debka dance, local singers and fashion runway show. Surayah and her students started their performance at 6:30 pm, bring to audience the history and movement of the traditional Middle Eastern belly dance. As they all dance to many Middle Eastern belly dancing music and with fashion belly dance costume. Their belly dance costume was colorful and sparkle, as each from a different Middle Eastern Country; Turkish, Egypt, Syrian and many other Middle Eastern costume. Not only was the dancer was in fashion, during the dinner, a runway show began. Many lovely ladies walked down the red carpet with great and spring gowns. Each bring the color of spring and new look elegant dresses. Later on after dinner, many other performance came onto the stage as well as debka dances. Leaving the night where everyone wished Dr. Amjad a happy birthday.
