SPACES FOR WELLBEING

In this publication, we’ve gathered 45 cutting-edge projects from 43 studios that showcase different ways in which architects and designers are approaching the creation of healthy interiors today. They are scattered all over the world and showcase the breadth of practice for designers of what we might consider to be The Healthy Indoors.

Divided into four chapters for easy reference, this publication seeks to catalogue these case studies not so much within strictly set types according to their brief, but instead to unravel their conceptual underpinnings. SPACES FOR WELLBEING features innovations in providing specialised and holistic medical care; while SPACES FOR PLEASURE showcases’ projects which aim to delight, heal and provide peace of mind. Projects with a focus on the communal experience feature in the chapter called SPACES FOR CONNECTING; meanwhile, the SPACES FOR THE BODY chapter looks to venues dedicated to reshaping one’s exterior, whether that be a nail bar, or a gym.

The architecture and design of spaces for health and wellbeing evolves constantly and we hope that readers will find The Healthy Indoors a useful and inspiring catalogue of solutions and concepts that they revisit and use for reference for years to come. In the meantime, we will continue our investigation of this crucial topic, both in FRAME magazine and in future publications.
