ans le cadre du programme périodique « Carrefour des Idées » organisé au profit du corps diplomatique accrédité à Rabat, la Fondation Diplomatique a accueilli le Secrétaire Général du parti de l’Istiqlal, M. Hamid Chabat. M. Chabat a ainsi pu répondre aux questions des Ambassadeurs arabes et africains. Cette rencontre a été l’occasion de mettre en lumière les liens très étroits entre le Maroc et les pays arabes et africains. Bien plus que de les souligner d’ailleurs, cette rencontre s’inscrit dans le droit fil de la nouvelle Constitution. Cette dernière rappelle, dès son préambule, l’importance pour le Royaume du Maroc de consolider les relations de coopération et de solidarité avec les peuples et les pays d’Afrique. Le Secrétaire Général du parti de l’Istiqlal a tenu à remercier la Fondation Diplomatique pour cette invitation à débattre et a présenté ses salutations sincères à tous les Ambassadeurs des pays arabes et africains. De même, il a confirmé sa joie de pouvoir être, à cette occasion, parmi des frères avec qui il partage des liens d’arabité, d’Islam et également une appartenance au continent africain considérés, au sein du parti de l’Istiqlal, comme étant l’avenir des cinq conti-

Il a également déclaré que la force de cette rencontre est qu’elle se déroule avant la réunion qui sera organisée le lendemain avec les Ambassadeurs de l’Union européenne, en raison de l’importance géographique du Maroc et des relations avec les pays arabes et africains qui se rencontrent dans différentes instances autour de sujets très importants. C’est donc une priorité au sein du parti qui est l’un des partis les plus anciens du Maroc comme l’a rappelé Monsieur Chabat. nder the regular program «Crossroads of Ideas» organized on behalf of the diplomatic corps accredited to Rabat, the Diplomatic Foundation welcomed the General Secretary of the Istiqlal party, Hamid Chabat. Mr.
Chabat had the opportunity to answer questions from the Arab and African ambassadors. This meeting was an opportunity to highlight the close ties between Morocco and the Arab and African countries. More than to emphasize these ties, this meeting falls in line with the new Constitution. From its preamble the Constitution stresses the importance for the Kingdom of Morocco to strengthen its relations of cooperation and solidarity with the peoples and countries of Africa. The General Secretary of the Istiqlal party thanked the Diplomatic Foundation for the invitation to debate and presented his sincere greetings to all the Ambassadors of Arab and African countries. Similarly, he confirmed his joy to be, on this occasion, among brothers with whom he shares bonds of Arabism, of Islam and also of belonging to the African continent, who are considered, by the Istiqlal party, as the future of the five continents, with the will of God. He also said that the force of this meeting is that it took place before the meeting to be held the day after with the Ambassadors of the European Union, due to the geographical importance of Morocco and its relations with the Arab and African countries who meet in various forums around very important issues.
