Paul Ygartua Spain The great sensuality and sheer inexhaustible power of imagination is the spectrum of Ygartua’s work -- an innovative artist who has the ability to create and work on several different styled paintings from the beginning of his career. He displays an interest in subject matter of every kind and demonstrates a great stylistic versatility that enables him to work in several mediums and techniques at the same time. A brief description of the art of Paul Ygartua is virtually impossible. His senses are alert at all times. he has the ability to express dramatic emotion with a spontaneity that brings life and emotion to the subject. This takes on many forms and techniques and styles. Some need fast spontaneous and yet still capture the impulsive character of Ygartua. The complexity and the individuality that is expressed throughout his works accounts for his constant change of city and country – being inspired by the world and the people around him.

The allure of these symbols lies in the word “communication”. Why did ancient cultures feel the need to leave these pictographs and markings? What do these petroglyphs signify? Do they have a universal meaning? These paintings represent my own struggle to understand the mysterious and my own search for meaning.”

Escuela de Artes Visuales. She has had three solo exhibitions in Peru and Colombia and nine 2013 Corriente Alterna. “A painting is not about an experience. It is an experience.” - Mark Rothko “It is commonly thought that everything that is can be put into words. But there is a wide range of emotional response that we make that cannot be put into words.” - Agnes Martin “In my work, I have two important references, on one hand, the importance that Mark Rothko gives to the creative process and on the other, the spiritual sense that Agnes Martin gives to painting. For myself. The process of producing a work in many cases, if not in every case, is the work itself. Thanks to my different meditation practices, many times with mantra chanting, I build my own time, based on different actions, normally repetitive, which takes me to an introspective state. The means are variable: painting, assemble, mixed techniques, knitting, origami, performance, etc. Of all of them, I prefer knitting: looms, beads, hair, threads. I embrace knitting through legends and tales, telling stories about community live, the importance of the woman in the society. These stories take me to tribal cultures where the contemporary live has no get yet. They are important to me because they rescue family live, the concept of “clan”, where the force of one is the force of all of them.”

naoya araki Japan

Born in 1947, Araki uses a technique similar to stone rubbing where the shape, engraved inscription and patterns, etc. of a vessel are taken and copied on paper with ink. Araki dips plants in ink and presses them on paper to create his artworks. He is particularly interested in the beauty and rhythm of the blank space in between and tries to express that in his works. He is also a poet. < Autumn Wind Rubbing impression (Ink, plants) F10

> Statices Watercolor on paper F50

The watercolor still life centers on a dense cluster of statice blossoms that crowns a pale bluish-green ceramic vessel. The dominant colors echo the tones whose lacy white and mauve petals with green stalks mingle with the patterning of the folded fabric to create a tapestry effect. - Edward Jacobsen / Art Critic
