J.A. FLIGEL (PSC, SCA) Born in Scotland, 1966, to a family of artists, J.A. painter and retired art professor in Scotland, who and dedicated peace and human rights activist. J.A. Fligel has sculpted since as far back as he can remember. In 1989, he received a BA Honors degree worked at the Art department of Upper Springlands, helping adults with special needs. Starting in 1992, he exhibited, travelled and worked with interior designers all over the world. Some of his work has found permanent homes in locations such as Upper Springlands, Perth, Scotland, and The Awapuni Hotel and Canada including Swan Lake, The Lion King, The Nut Cracker, The Phantom Of The Opera, Rag Time, Sunset Boulevard, Tommy, Famous People’s Players and more.

with abstract sculpture, however, through his travels he was inspired by settled in Canada in 2001, where he works presently. He was honored to have represented Canada at the 2009 Florence Biennale, Italy. His most recent sculptures feature Canadian Olympic and Paraolympic athletes. These works were exhibited in the Canadian Olympic Athletes Dialogue an exhibition organized by the Portrait Society of Canada. J.A. Fligel encourages people to recognize the essence of humanity and the power of the human spirit, aiming to express a wide variety of feelings, to show the delicacy and beauty of life, while demonstrating the diversity and equality between people and different cultures. His goal is to show how much we already have and how much more we all could have by working together, for a joint goal of peace, love and caring.
