Gulfcraft The 47 metre Majesty 155 is the biggest superyacht yet to emerge from Emirates shipyard Gulf Craft. The Majesty Yachts range starts at 14.5 metres and did reach 41 metres, until now. Four years of gestation have wrought this new flagship, a fine-looking craft from the pen of naval architect Massimo Gregori Grgic of Yankee Delta Studio in Italy. The Majesty 155’s hull design allows for low fuel consumption, long-range capability, and incredible comfort. In addition to offering substantial space, the 9.6 metre beam allows for an even greater stability. The hull design was tank-tested in Italy, and the actual ship proves to perform above all expectations. She is easy to handle, stable, and quiet, leaving minimum wakes behind. READ THE FULL STORY...

Be inspired

Whether driving, flying or sailing, we develop an affinity with our carefully chosen means of travel. They don’t just get us from A to B, they also move us emotionally. Designers of these highly desirable modes of transport specify only the very best components throughout the construction process and they don’t compromise when it comes to the coating which will give their creation the aesthetic appeal that it deserves. They want a coating that is available in any color, including custom finishes, that has the durability to withstand the rigours of any environment, anywhere in the world; they want a coating that can be applied to any material, produced by a manufacturer operating at the forefront of coatings technology; and they want a product that can be bought with the complete confidence that only an unmatched global track record can bestow. These coatings are all available from one source: AkzoNobel Specialty Coatings. www.akzonobel.com

Designer in Profile: Adam Lay Company Adam Lay Studio Position within Company Director Website www.adamlaystudio.co.uk Where and how does the process for decorating the interior of a yacht begin? I start by listening carefully to the design brief and also reading between the lines to fully understand what a client is looking to achieve. I will then typically have a mood or atmosphere in mind and I facilitate this by doing hand-drawn artist’s impressions to help me to visualise the finished interior. Things change along the way as I tweak and make improvements but it is unusual for the finished interior not to look almost identical to my initial hand drawings. READ MORE...
