Luxe et al Recommends Dornbracht Dornbracht is a globally active family-run manufacturer of high-quality fittings and accessories for bathrooms and kitchens. The company is one of the few in the sanitation industry where production is ‘Made in Germany’. With CL.1, Dornbracht presents a stunning new range of bathroom fittings that consistently combines straight lines and soft curves, lending it a distinctly architectural character. The advanced design language marks the start of a new decade in Dornbracht product design, the key aim of which is to pursue designs that are dynamic, animated and elegant. The abbreviation ‘CL’ stands for Dornbracht’s current brand claim, ‘Culturing Life’, and the number 1 refers to the first product design to emerge from this new brand direction. Other special features of CL.1 are its new textured handles. A play of tactility, these handles sharpen the senses. Two different texture options are available for the handles of the fittings, giving them a luxurious and distinctive look and feel. Not only is this in keeping with the increasing desire for materials with a tactile quality, it is also a contemporary response to the megatrend of individualisation in areas that are often neglected when it comes to making bold design decisions. The two versions available, smooth or textured, which opens up possibilities for a more personalised bathroom design. It is not just the design of Dornbracht’s CL.1 that sets new standards; its engineering is special too. An innovative flow pattern boasts extremely efficient water consumption. The sprayface is an in-house development that gently immerses the user’s hands in 40 soft, individual jets of water and with a flow rate of just 3.9 litres per minute, water consumption is extremely efficient. With this new flow mode, the CL.1 considers a more sustainable lifestyle. The entire series comes in plated finishes, polished chrome and platinum matt, including a wide range of fittings and accessories for the washbasin, shower, bath and bidet. It can be combined with products from other series, to meet individual needs and requirements. The arrangement of outlets and controls can also be customised, adding to the possibilities for a more personal and individual design. A particular user-friendly option is Dornbracht’s Smart Tools technology. These digital control elements integrate numerous options for digitisation in both the bathroom and kitchen by networking components and simplifying the applications involved. With a single flick of the wrist, two control dials allow for precise control of temperature and water volume, and a simple display can call up frequently used settings or presets, bringing a solution elegant in both design and usage. www.dornbracht.com

ABOVE: Yacht Carbon Offset Naturally, many of those who own or enjoy a superyacht love the natural and marine environment and are passionate about having minimal impact. So, with the current focus on the response to climate change, there has never been a better time to consider greenhouse gas emissions. Yacht Carbon Offset offers a practical, effective way to counteract greenhouse gas impact whilst preserving cruising freedom. No onboard equipment is required: Yacht Carbon Offset calculates CO2 emissions based on the fuel quantity used, whether for a full season or a single trip, and for any yacht, classic or new, motor or sail. Emissions are then counteracted with equivalent greenhouse gas reductions achieved by independently verified green energy projects. The offset payment – typically less than 2 eurocents per litre of fuel - financially supports the green energy project and in exchange, the emission reductions are allocated to the yacht, with a Certificate showing exactly what’s included. Transparency is essential, so Yacht Carbon Offset has a fully-documented procedure which is regularly audited to maintain Lloyds Register Quality Assurance Certification. Clients can if they wish select individual projects for support, and can extend the scope of their personalised programme beyond the yacht to include associate flights, shore power, or indeed other aspects of their luxury lifestyle. Perfect for today’s more eco-aware yachting families and for high profile guests. www.yachtcarbonoffset.com

RIGHT: LASVIT Captures the Essence of Water in Luxury Glass LASVIT’s recent presentation at the Monaco Yacht Show made it clear that both their bespoke installations and designer lighting perfectly complement the interiors of cruise ships and luxury yachts. Bohemian crystal adorned palaces, chateaus and grand theaters for centuries, but LASVIT is the Czech manufacturer of modern-day luxury glass, blending traditional techniques with contemporary design. You have likely seen their expansive lighting sculptures in the lobbies of five-star hotels, hideaway resorts, fine restaurants and boutiques worldwide. Although most of their work is custom-tailored for particular public spaces and private residences, LASVIT also collaborates with world-renowned designers including Daniel Libeskind, Campana Brothers, Arik Levy and Nendo for their designer lighting collections. Fascinated by the possibilities of this exclusively hand-made production, designers come to the Czech Republic to work with LASVIT’s master glassmakers. Glass is processed in its liquid form and its translucent and reflective qualities uniquely embody the essence of water – from bubbles, ripples and waves to ice. One glance at LASVIT´s portfolio reveals that their design vision and expert craftsmanship are best able to capture both the essence of water and our imagination. www.lasvit.com

“ ...the brief was to create a layout that would allow the enjoyment of wide and bright spaces, in order to ensure a close connection with the external environment. ”

EIGHT was launched in 2005 and her refit represents a true accomplishment for Rome based Solido Interiors. She was designed by CRN’s Engineering Department in collaboration with the international design studio Nuvolari Lenard, who has taken care of the exteriors. The vessels spreads over four magnificent decks, offering accommodation in one sumptuous master stateroom and five VIP suites, hosting up to 12 guests and a crew of 8. The refit of 46 metre EIGHT was designed to accomplish the owners’ dreams and desires; the brief was to create a layout that would allow the enjoyment of wide and bright spaces, in order to ensure a close connection with the external environment. The owner was smart and very clear of their requirements, with a passion for technology and innovation, and a strong bond with the sea, considering it to be a boundless field of exploration but a familiar and friendly place at the same time. Spaces have an original contemporary décor, leitmotif of different areas, characterized by extremely clean and harmonious lines. The energy here is powerful and sophisticated, with a clever combination of wood and fine leathers, glasses assembled with inner copper foils and finely processed metals and rare marbles. The interiors perfectly flow with the exterior areas and provide complete dynamic continuity between the outside and the inside. Some areas have been completely redesigned, taking down some of the walls and partitions to enlarge each area and bring in light. The deck area adjacent the main saloon provides a comfortable leisure area, boasting four dark grey sofas with red profiles and a coffee table. From here, a sliding glazed door invites guests into the comfortable main saloon. Three large sofas are placed around a large and elegant carpet and two coffee tables, where guests can comfortably socialise or unwind. A double-face 78 inch concealing TV divides the living area from the large round dining table seating up to 10 people for a more formal dining experience. All windows have been enlarged, allowing plenty of natural light to flood this area and highlight the combination of warm walnut shades on the walls and the cream tones in the furniture. The master cabin, situated on the main deck at the bow, is a masterpiece of sobriety and simplicity, reflecting the style that pervades the entire yacht. The owner’s apartment is preceded by a cosy business area, where

24 Luxe Et Al

they can work enjoying maximum comfort and privacy. The use of soft colours that range from hazelnut to cream and alternate in fabric, furniture, and throughout the vessel, provide luxurious warmth. The bathroom too features a skilful play with colours, juxtaposing warm oak wood with the dark mottled stone of the bathtub, which is complete with hydromassage and chromotherapy. The bathroom is fitted with a ‘his and hers’ double sink and a shower box. The electrical darkening glass system guarantees brightness and privacy at the same time. An elegant internal staircase with leatherlined steps leads to the lower deck, which hosts the comfortable guest area and the crew quarters. The fitness area, which was previously found to port, has been replaced by an additional cabin, joining the other 3 located on the same deck. The main changes at the stern have involved the garage, which has been widened to fit the owner’s tender, a large Castoldi 23’. Once this has been launched, the stern can be turned into a large beach club. This area also enjoyably features a shower area, with the shower head in the ceiling and the shower mat on the deck. The flooring has been replaced to ensure continuity with the warm shades of the outdoor teak. At the aft of the upper deck, a wide sky lounge is furnished with two comfortable L-shaped sofas that make this area ideal to enjoy dinner with a magnificent view over the sea, thanks to the large rectangular table seating up to 10 people. In the indoor salon, a C-shaped sofa stands opposite a concealing up-and-down 75 inch TV. The refitting in this area has involved the enlargement of the windows, allowing cascading natural light and a breathtaking view of the sea. An external staircase takes guests to the sundeck, a fabulous area where life in the open air can be enjoyed to the fullest and featuring a round table in polished teak with eight satin teak chairs in the middle, ideally dividing this area into two separate ones. Indeed, two large sunbathing areas and two awnings with carbon poles have been positioned on the sundeck: the first is at the extreme stern and features one single rectangular sunpad in dark grey fabric with red profiles, as well as two polished teak round tables; the second area, at the bow, shows the result of a more extensive refitting – a Teuco hydromassage tub. The sunpad and the entire sundeck are protected by handrails with steel and glass uprights. On the sides of the central table, a flat

screen TV, an ice-maker, a refrigerator, and a barbeque complete the furnishings. The forward structure, where navigation lights were previously installed, has been replaced with a removable carbon mast slightly closer to the stern. An accurate lighting design was integrated throughout to transform, improve and add value to the various areas and to the surrounding structure. Everything helps to create a perfect continuity between natural and artificial, external and internal, domestic and marine dimension, in a place where the owner is left to establish his own boundaries. Eight interiors are characterized by chromatic, neutral, plain tones, which create the relaxing atmosphere that reigns on the decks, giving uniformity to spaces and emphasizing the search for minimalism and sophistication that led all the choices in the project implementation. EIGHT represents the balance between functionality and luxury, tradition and innovation. Its success arises from a shared passion, love, and working with people on the same wavelength. Carlo Nuvolari from Nuvolari Lenard said, “EIGHT was a fortunate project which we built at CRN. It is part of the ‘Magnifica’ class, which was built in a few units. We were asked to design a timeless boat but not timeless because ‘classic’ or ‘old’ style. I believe EIGHT shows to have a beauty that is not related to her age. The matching between superstructure and hull is completely achieved in this design. This ‘matching’ is what we always carefully look for when designing a yacht and what is dictating its success or its debacle. It is imperative for Nuvolari Lenard that the yacht is a ‘unicum’; not just a hull with some superstructure on top. Hull and superstructure must ‘talk’ together. The balance and proportions must be there or you will have a yacht, not a ‘nice yacht’”. Every single space, furniture and accessory has been redesigned following handcrafted methods and using the finest materials in a combination of functionality, class and style. The uniqueness of the project has proved to be successful in the match between past and future. The use of natural light, wood, fine-quality leather, and other bespoke materials have transformed EIGHT into a truly spectacular vessel. The collaboration of CRN, Nuvolari Lenard and Solido Interior Design have created a timeless object away from passing trends and styles.

Horizon 70 is developed with an intention to offer remarkable style and impeccable design. It’s a synthesis of modern, sharp lines and elements of a timeless evocative look, such as the sheer line dropping down towards the stern. This concept aims to offer the same spacious areas that are usually found on 80foot yachts. A sizable swimming platform, broad aft stairs, huge sun-bed, cockpit area that can easily accommodate 12 people and forward seating area with automatic shade are just some of the features that make this vessel outstanding.

Side windows run all along the side of the hull, offering astounding views from each cabin. The ceiling of the main saloon contains a skylight of 10 square meters providing natural illumination. All areas with windows and glass have fully automatic blinds for total coverage if so desired. Accommodation is divided into three main sections: a full beam master bedroom with en-suite, an entrance lobby and main saloon offering standing height of 2.4 meters, crew quarters are placed at fore end and are completely separated from guest premises. The yacht is equipped with a bespoke tender of 4.6m stored underneath the sunbed. It can take up to 5 adults for a quick shore transfer or it can be utilized for any kind of water sport; deploying and recovery is made via aft platform lifting mechanisms. The very top of the yacht’s hardtop holds a pair of solar panels, offering sufficient power for mandatory systems such as bilge or fire alarm even if the boat is abandoned for a time. VOLVO delivers the complete propulsion system; triple engine installation combined with IPS technology, giving outstanding capabilities and performance. Horizon 70 will come top coated with Alex Seal metallic paint as a standard, so no compromise is made on aesthetics.

During a recent interview with Luxe Dusan Antic, Head of Design and Engineering / Founder / Partner of Argo Navis said: “I believe a great example to express this [direction that design is moving in, in general terms,] is the current project we are working on, 70 Horizon. Basically a design/style of yacht that is out of the frame is becoming a standard. It might sound contradictory but it’s real. In order to make your client feel proud of what he owns or consumes you must offer something very unique. On the other hand I believe that time of futuristic design, where all the sharp lines are brought to the first plan, has gone. Finally, a boat needs to look like a boat and not a racing car or aeroplane, speaking about the leisure market of course.” For Argo Navis the absolute priority is to bring Horizon 70 on the water and hand it over to the owner. As per schedule they are planning sea trials and final handover in Q2 2017. Argo Navis is a specialist design, engineering and consulting company. It is built on years of extensive experience in the marine, offshore, boat and yachting industries. The company comprises an expert team of structural, mechanical and electrical engineers, naval architects and analysts, dedicated to providing bespoke services of the very highest quality. The team’s collective skill-set enables bespoke solutions from conception to delivery. The software used encompasses naval design, finite element analysis, tolling and prototyping that facilitate outstanding quality design output, meticulous accuracy in measurements and renowned results. Argo Navis have been shortlisted for a Concept up to 40 metres Award in The International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2016.

What direction do you feel design is moving towards in general terms? I believe a great example to express this is the current project we are working on, the Horizon 70. Basically a design/style of yacht that is out of the frame is becoming a standard. It might sound contradictory but it’s real. In order to make your client feel proud of what he owns or consumes you must offer something very unique. On the other hand I believe that the time of futuristic design, where all the sharp lines are brought to the first plan, has gone. Finally, a boat needs to look like a boat and not a racing car or aeroplane, speaking about the leisure market of course. Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2016 and beyond. • Classic lines (merged with a morph shapes in a “gentle” way) • Color combinations (Bi and Tri color arrangements inspired by car industry) • Eco-Friendly arrangements (utilizing renewable sources of energy) • Moderate speeds (offering more comfort and extended range) • More windows and natural light And key trends that we should be aware of? Eco-friendly arrangements. The Yacht Industry will definitely follow the car industry where the perfect example is the TESLA car. A few years ago, for electric cars, it was impossible to compete with the conventional cars in any aspect, but today? Just look at the figures - the same will happen in the Marine Sector, it’s just a matter of time. What projects are you currently working on? Most of the time we are working on a new model of 80 feet that is actually an evolution of Horizon 70. Apart from that, we are working on a complete fleet of sport boats starting from 32 to 45 feet for one of our clients. Worth mentioning is a total refit of an iconic Mangusta 80 where we are doing management and consultancy. If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be? More comfort, more space and more light. A designer’s work is so diverse – how do you manage to hold down a career and a life? To be frank, it’s not so easy, but we are managing.

ARGO NAVIS Head of Design and Engineering / Founder / Partner www.argonavis.ae

My wife is providing strong support, but due to her professional career she is travelling a lot as well. Whenever we have a chance we spend time together with our daughter. Finally, with a good plan and perfect timing we are doing quite well. Time for any hobby is lacking though. How important are The International Yacht and Aviation Awards as recognition of talent and achievement? I believe it’s a great public boost for all newcomers. It is not the first time we are participating in this competition. In year 2010 we actually won it with the project where I was doing complete naval architecture and engineering part for a 63 feet mahogany yacht. At that time we had a lot of attention of key people from our business; this award helped significantly in shedding light on our project practically overnight. Therefore, I strongly believe that we are making the right move by participating and I am confident we have a great chance to win it. What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months? The absolute priority is to bring Horizon 70 to the water and hand it over to the owner. As per schedule we are planning sea trials and final handover in Q2 2017. Final thoughts; tell us a little more about yourself: The car you drive: Peugeot 508. Family needs comes first. Your favourite place to travel to in the world: Athens, Greece definitely. Your favourite hotel/ restaurant/ bar: Lagonissi Grand resort, Greece. The place that gives you the most energy: Office space And the place that enables you to totally relax: Our weekend house at the river Your favourite food and drink: Roasted Salmon and Coconut Rice. Lemon mint juice. Anything else interesting: The Horizon 70 project, of course.

“ The Yacht Industry will definitely follow the car industry where the perfect example is the TESLA car. A few years ago, for electric cars, it was impossible to compete with the conventional cars in any aspect, but today? Just look at the figures - the same will happen in the Marine Sector, it’s just a matter of time. ”

“ Expansive open spaces were of paramount importance thus large windows have been used throughout to provide plenty of light and give an airy, open feel throughout the interiors. ”

The Meteor by Mural Yachts is a beautiful example of yacht engineering, designed in pure steel and aluminium. In a very contemporary vein, it fits just under the 500GT with large generous open deck spaces and world cruising capabilities.

well as a crew of seven. She will be powered by twin Cummins engines, providing her with a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. Amongst her many amenities on board, Meteor will also accommodate a 5.2 metre tender.

It has been designed for family use with the occasional charter in mind. This 46m motoryacht provides four decks of unparalleled comfort. Expansive open spaces were of paramount importance thus large windows have been used throughout to provide plenty of light and give an airy, open feel throughout the interiors. To carry this requirement on the outside, plenty of open deck space is provided on the exterior decks. The sun deck provides a wet-bar, Jacuzzi, bathing platform and three distinct seating areas. The back upper deck provides an alternative area for sunbathing on sun loungers and an additional area for outdoor dining. Further on the upper deck seating is provided in front of the wheelhouse to enjoy the time spent cruising.

Mural Yachts expect Meteor to be completed towards the end of 2017, when she will be delivered to her Turkish owner.

However, the best views are available on the crow’s nest. Forward of the upper deck seating there is access to the foredeck which is a large open uncluttered deck which could be used for multiple purposes. Low bulwarks make this deck feel even more spacious. The aft main deck allows for a more sheltered dining setting if necessary. From here it is possible to access the large swim platform which is equipped with an Opacmare transformer system for easy access to the sea. The yacht has very contemporary clean lines. The large windows low bulwarks and open deck spaces allow for constant connection to the sea which is often something large yachts are not able to provide. The bow with a slight rake provides the yacht with a long waterline and sharp angle of entry allowing the yacht to cut through the water efficiently and allows for more comfortable cruising in head seas. Further comfort is provided by state of the art stabilization systems. It was in September 2015 that Mural Yachts signed the contract for a new 46.32 metre superyacht and the steel cutting started in November 2015 in Turkey. Mural Yachts has undertaken all aspects of her naval architecture and design. On board she will accommodate up to 12 guests over several well appointed cabins, as

Mazu yachts wanted a design that would offer their clients a boat that can serve their needs in many possible ways. The boat itself can operate with the diverse functions of five different kinds of vessels, and as such, it is transformative in nature. Due to its abilities she was given a more military aesthetic, and in doing so made both the boat and the design fit each other. The concept was to have a leisure boat with luxurious amenities, combined with the capability to carry toys and tenders with over 40 knots of speed. The boat could be used as a megayacht tender, a chase boat, support vessel or a leisure craft; there is no such product in the current market. Fifteight SV is one of the most unique, high quality builds and mechanically designed power yachts. The hull is cold moulded with layers of vertical grain wood veneers over an open framework male building mould, and for added strength; fibreglass, kevlar or

carbon fibre cloth is applied to one or both sides of the hull shell. The cabin layout is designed to the specific style and preference of each customer. All the interior furniture is custom built inside the cabin and is bonded directly to the hull, becoming one solid yacht. The boats can be completely customized at no additional cost, with any desired colour or paintwork from metallic flake to flat matte. Mazu Yachts has been designing, producing and marketing luxury ‘hard-top and open’ motor yachts since 2011. They are best known for their sleek and aggressive looking motor yachts which are made with a coldmoulded system. Mazu Yachts stands out with their ‘Hand-Crafted Art Of Superyachts’ due to this unique building technique, the impressive result is that the hulls of a Mazu boat have extra strength and lightness. Mazu Yachts fiftyeight SV is under construction and will be ready for Summer 2016.

Convinced that good is never really good enough, Embraer Executive Jets started with a clean sheet of paper to design the Legacy 450, stablemate to the record shattering Legacy 500. The result: a new cutting-edge corporate jet that transcends all others in the mid-light class. It is truly a remarkable union of technology and design offering digital flight controls with full fly-by-wire, the largest-in-class stand-up cabin, and class-leading stowage capacity and speed. It’s the kind of aircraft that emerges from not listening to conventional thinking – and instead, redefines what’s possible. The Legacy 450 isn’t an old jet dressed up in a new model number; it is a game changer for the business jet industry. The interior design takes the high technology capability of the cockpit into the cabin zones. A blend of state of the art technology and meticulous, detail oriented craftsmanship makes it a modern, comfortable and user friendly environment.

“ It is truly a remarkable union of technology and design offering digital flight controls with full fly-by-wire, the largest-in-class stand-up cabin, and class-leading stowage capacity and speed. ”

This jet is a flawless union of technology and design. Optimally placed windows and ergonomic seating are only the start; the very latest in user-friendly features complement the Legacy 450’s stylish and comfortable interior. Large glass panels in the valance sections feature touch screen control and information monitors that merge modern styling with improved ergonomic function as well as reliable redundancy. Storage zones on the side ledges open like jewel boxes, framed by complex shaped machined accents. Floating surfaces allow for tasteful separation of materials that are crafted in the spirit of individually tailored elements chosen by the owner. With its ergonomic design for enhanced comfort, the Legacy 450 provides an experience which is a new definition of luxury and a feeling of freedom. The interior finishing is exceptional with areas of customized personalization. The modern interior design incorporates simplicity, transparency, light, and serenity to convey a feeling of sensual elegance. Innovative interior finish materials create unique solutions for customers, such as stone flooring in wet areas and stone countertop. The project allowed a new look towards introducing innovative technology with regard to user interface, as well as manufacture and assembly methods and maintaining a comfortable, high luxury environment. The use of GD&T principles within the design create a perfect fit and finish quality and allow for maximum accessibility, thereby reducing assembly and maintenance cost. The Legacy 450 is the only jet in its class to replace conventional controls with full FlyBy-Wire technology; a pilot’s dream cockpit.

70 Luxe Et Al

This technology enables a smoother, more natural feeling flight by translating the manual input from the pilot electronically rather than mechanically. Electronic flyby-wire systems increase the number of control surfaces that can be actuated simultaneously. This allows for maximum performance and control while reducing the pilot’s workload and creating a smoother flight for passengers. Additional flight envelope protection also increases flight safety. The Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 flyby-wire system has received a prestigious Flightglobal Achievement Award in the Innovator of the Year category 2010. The flight deck is a comfortable and elegant advanced design which features a darkand-quiet design philosophy, large displays, and improved ergonomics and space to reduce pilot and crew fatigue. With Sidestick controllers a cleaner cockpit and better view of displays is achieved. There are also optional pilot sliding tables: two working surfaces add extra space in the cockpit with more storage capacity to improve comfort and productivity. The optional Embraer Enhanced Vision System (E2VS) further relieves pressure on the pilot while also boosting their situational awareness. Legacy 450 also performs extraordinarily well. Travelling at Mach 0.83, the Legacy 450 is the fastest mid-light corporate jet in the air. It can take off and land on short runways, giving access to more airports worldwide. Incredibly, the aircraft can climb directly to 43,000 ft. (13,106 m.) in only 22 minutes, departing from sea level with maximum takeoff weight. The Legacy 450’s flight altitude is 45,000 ft. (13,716 m.). At 6-feet (1.83 m.) tall and 24-feet (7.32 m.) long, with a flat floor, the Legacy 450’s cabin is the largest in its class. Two centre club seats fully berth to create beds, for undisturbed sleeping during the flight. The other seats, available with optional heating and massage, swivel and offer lateral and forward movement. The Legacy 450 seats a total of up to 9 passengers. Seats are also available with optional lumbar adjustment, leg rest and flexible wing. Foldable tables open flush with the side ledge, increasing the usual table surface area. This impressive craft offers unparalleled luxury for the epitome of flight experiences. An on board refreshment centre even provides a microwave oven and coffee brewer. The Legacy 450 is the only mid-light business jet with an optional wet galley. The wet galley features hot and cold water with a large ice drawer and optional crystal, china, and silverware. The Ovation® Select™ Cabin Management System gives full HD video, optional surround audio, Apple TV, and a wide range of connectivity options including 3.1 Mbps high-speed data and WiFi connection. Embraer Executive Jets and Legacy 450 have been shortlisted for Private Jet Design Award in The International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2016.

This project, created by the Four Season Private Jet by TAG Aviation, in partnership with TCS Expeditions, features exterior and interior design from Factorydesign. TAG Aviation are now enjoying their shortlisted success for The International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2016 in the category of Private Jet Design.

“ The interior was completely refitted by Factorydesign, transforming many aspects including the 233 standardsize seats to 52 bespoke lie-flat seats in a 2-by-2 configuration. ”

For more than 20 years, TCS and Starquest have provided the experience of a lifetime for their guests by providing the ultimate in service, comfort and convenience by flying direct and landing as close to destinations as possible. To date, they have operated over 200 expeditions to more than 150 destinations, making them the world leader in private jet travel. They work with some of the world’s most distinguished universities, museums and cultural organizations—National Geographic, the Smithsonian Institution, Harvard Museum of Natural History and more. They supply the industry’s most experienced and professional staff, including a physician and a chef, as well as guest lecturers accompanying them on every expedition. With decades of experience and an incredible wealth of expertise, they know what it takes to go above and beyond expectations in premium world travel. TCS and Starquest Expeditions have recently signed an exclusive partnership with the Four Seasons Group to provide additional round the world tours for high net worth customers combining business jet travel with exclusive hotels and reports. TAG Aviation have created a bespoke and unique B757 200 ER to raise the standard of the aviation product to compliment these trips. UK based Aerocare provided a major part of the cabin upgrade work. Within the cabin they provided the sidewall and window reveals, electrical/avionic harnesses for passenger seating and modifications of the cabin oxygen PSU modules. They provided the complete interior and exterior lavatory module redesigned to corporate specifications to include new vanity and Corian sink unit, carbon face door and amenity panels with anodised bespoke capping, and all LED lighting including mirror backlight and ‘return to seat’ legends. They completed the

refurbishment of the complete flight deck and security door. The interior was completely refitted by Factorydesign, transforming many aspects including the 233 standard-size seats to 52 bespoke lie-flat seats in a 2-by-2 configuration. Each new white leather seat, designed by Italian craftsmen Lacobucci, stretches 6.5 feet, with ample aisle and legroom, and offers 78 inches of personal space. Similar versions are also found aboard Lear, Gulfstream, and Cathay Pacific jets, and they slide smoothly and quietly from sitting upright to lying flat at a touch of a button. Tray tables are topped in dark shellacked wood, with a roomy surface that can easily handle a heavy laptop or formally set, three-course meal. Against the white of the plane, the wood gives the interior a kind of high-speed yacht ambiance. Overhead bins are nearly double their original size, now fitting 189 bags, but take up less headspace by tucking up into the crown of the fuselage. A new bi-color LED lighting system reflects off the state of the art galleys, creating a clean, calm mood with violet, warm white and soft blues. Four Seasons has been offering private jet experiences with TCS since 2012, but it’s the first private jet fully branded to the resort company, giving them much more control over service and logistics than they had chartering other people’s planes. There are, at minimum, 21 hotel-trained crew and staff on board each Four Seasons flight, including three pilots, two engineers, a “journey manager” (travel coordinator), a concierge, and an executive chef. A physician and a photographer also come along, when adventurous itineraries—such as diving the Maldives’ coral reefs or game watching in the Serengeti—require it. This reconfigured Boeing 757-200ER, in its new shade of metallic black, has truly revolutionised the in-flight experience. This specially commissioned Four Seasons Jet is designed to apply the famous service standards of Four Seasons hotels at 35,000 feet. Customer feedback after first trips is exceptional; this is the best looking B757 ever built.

Space, impressive in an almost formidable sense, allows passengers to board the aircraft in spectacular style. So much so, that AIM Altitude have been shortlisted for a Concept Cabin Award in The International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2016. This presentation piece was conceived as a three-part design strategy for the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2016, in Hamburg. The concepts focused on a scaled, generic, widebodied aircraft, promoting the transferability of design schemes into today’s popular aircraft platforms, A330-40 & B777, to name just two. AIM Altitude designs, engineers and manufactures an array of products from galleys to bespoke bars and social areas for this specific Door 2 entrance area. Therefore, the team conceived the range of scenes to demonstrate its current ‘concept to completion’ thinking.

“ AIM Altitude’s in-house industrial design team wanted to illustrate how versatile and important the entrance to the aircraft can be for passengers and airlines. Reinvigorating the magic of flight, impact, cabin ambience, branding reinforcement and overall ‘wow’ factor, were major considerations when creating the differing styles.. ”

AIM Altitude’s in-house industrial design team wanted to illustrate how versatile and important the entrance to the aircraft can be for passengers and airlines. Reinvigorating the magic of flight, impact, cabin ambience, branding reinforcement and overall ‘wow’ factor, were major considerations when creating the differing styles. AIM Altitude created three virtual experience schemes for AIX. Space was the intermediate scheme of the three, demonstrating the abilities of how to ‘commercially’ explore practical functionality, without losing visual impact and diversity in the market place. The team explored the ideas of ‘transferable space usage’ through monuments that had the ability to redefine their function. The FWD half-height unit has trolley stowage in the base but allows a moveable partition in the upper section to change the intent of, not only the unit itself, but of the space around it. During boarding, when down, it emphasises the idea of increased space and natural sight lines through the business-class cabin. Then, as night falls, or the area is being used for dinner preparation, the crew can move the partition up to ‘enclose’ the area and return it to a more traditional galley area. This feature then has modern OLED monitor screens introduced for inflight information or promotional videos to be played if the partition is up. Mixing technology and attractive furniture is the key to keeping things fresh and progressing cabin design. The rear galley is upgraded in the sense that it has been made as attractive as a business-class monument. The galley is now constantly on show and is in a high traffic area, so not only should it function as well as it is required to, but it has to look, and stay looking, as good as any other piece of

88 Luxe Et Al

high-end furniture within the business class cabin. Highly robust material selections and decoratively pleasing finishes were all considered from AIM Altitude’s specialised palette of trims and finishes. Dramatic lighting is a key feature used to change the dynamic ambience of the cabin. The team looked into various effects, including ‘light rays’ and how they can cast attractive patterns on floors and surfaces - a trick from nature and the light rays often seen in forests. This was used in the central lighting canopy bridging the two units. Floor lighting was featured heavily as well. AIM Altitude used the idea of lines and contouring to create specific demarcations. Often the galley area can be quite intimidating or promote an uncomfortable sense, but through using the circular floor lighting AIM Altitude is trying to draw the passengers in and encourage activity in that zone. Wash lighting and halo effects also work well to flood colour and feeling into the cabin environments. The schemes were designed and modelled to be used directly in a Virtual Reality Environment. For the Expo, the public were asked to step into AIM Altitude’s designers’ heads and explore these concepts, not only in 2D but also in 3D. The users were given the experience to choose a scheme and then submerge themselves in an inflight scenario. The Virtual Experience created three different Door 2 scenes: Classic – a more traditional configuration utilising a typical Door 2 layout Space – the chance to differentiate: a forward-facing galley and a half-height unit, with clean and open sightlines, which created an open, airy feel Social – a relaxing social experience promoted by bespoke seating units and socialising space. This scene showed AIM Altitude’s vision and aesthetic ideas for the future. This was the best way to convey the design intent into a real-life situation, without actually leaving the ground. Through allowing the designs to be infused with the virtual cabin, AIM Altitude can portray a ‘finished’ product impression months - or often years - before the physical plane could see service. This technique is now being developed and used further and will become a common phase of the project milestones. Space and the other schemes will be used as a VR demonstration experience within AIM Altitude’s new facility in Bournemouth, Dorset, UK.

Designed in partnership with BMW Designworks USA, the Phenom 300 offers a spacious cabin as well as the largest baggage compartment in its category. The largest windows in this class deliver natural light in abundance in the cabin, as well as in the private lavatory at the back of the aircraft. The comfort of the seats, with recline and full movement capabilities, is enhanced by the best pressurization among light jets (6,600 ft. maximum cabin altitude). The Phenom 300 features distinct temperature zones for pilots and passengers, a wardrobe and refreshment centre, voice and data communications options and an entertainment system. Since Phenom 300 is the category leader in performance and reliability, Embraer decided to honour this great aircraft with a hallmark design reflecting both automotive and aerospace racing heritage. Many of their customers are entrepreneurs who believe in a performance lifestyle and a “no excuse for failure” work ethic, reminiscent of the brave men and women who continue to push the boundaries in the air and on the ground for the sole purpose of a First Place finish. With interior design by Joshua Rea and exterior design by Joshua Rea and Rodrigo Castaman, it is an understatement to say the Phenom 300 is a very comfortable and sporty aircraft. The innovative features of this custom plane include contrasting stitched seats and asymmetrically placed serial number on the left wing. Owners are often the pilots who feel the paint scheme is an extension of themselves and their passion for flight and speed, therefore, the custom exterior paint and interior finish celebrates aerospace and automotive racing heritage.

Silver Fast is the fourth and most recent Superyacht built by Australia’s premier luxury yacht builder Silveryachts. She is the most advanced, eco-fuel efficient vessel in the groundbreaking Silver series. Designed by Espen Oeino, one of the world’s most famous yacht designers, Silver Fast retains the super-sleek contour and unique hull lines of her much-prized predecessors but with a striking new all dark silver paint. At 77 metres (252.6ft) and with a top speed of over 27 knots in optimal conditions, Silver Fast is the world’s largest and fastest aluminium motor yacht with conventional propulsion in terms of length to speed ratio. She is also the fastest long range cruising yacht – 4,500 nautical miles at 18 knots and 6,000 nautical miles at 14 knots with an already proven capability to effortlessly complete long passages in every sea state. She is capable of crossing the Atlantic at approximately 22 knots cruising speed, which performance is record- breaking. The triumphant Silver Fast has benefited significantly from the owners vision and commitment to achieving constant improvements in the design, build and operation of the vessel, as well as his support and encouragement of Silveryachts to take the same approach.

Social by Aim Altitude is a concept in which the entry space removes the ideas of galleys in this section of the aircraft and moves them to the rear of the aircraft. This then leaves a larger welcome space for a ‘super’ business class environment to occupy, promoting the idea of ‘continuous comfort’ and ‘sophistication’. The central flowing canopy forms a unique statement piece that the low height sofas cantilever from. This area really opens up the space to be used as a ‘relaxation’ zone rather than a typical working space. The interactive table illustrates flight data and travel information for passengers to discuss. The left side accommodates two single low height sofa seats. This gives a smaller, comfortable break out zone to the side of the main area. The right side is designed with two café style table areas where people can circulate. A stretch of the legs is always a welcome alternative to sitting for long periods. Each area has a very distinctive blend between hard and soft materials; wood to leather. This contrast is used to frame the seating areas, as a welcoming space to socialize. Dramatic lighting accompanies the zone to highlight the fluidity of the shapes. The concept focuses on the idea of exploring the customer experience vs typical crew operations. Flying should not just be a means to get to a destination; it should be a large part of the ‘journey’. The designs work well because they provoke interest and challenge ideas of commercial aviation. The ideas presented here are based on viable solutions and therefore through development could be implemented to modern aircraft platforms. Social by AIM Altitude has been shortlisted for a Concept Cabin Award in The International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2016.

Category: Concept over 40 metres Length overall: 63m Exterior designer: Emrah ONEMLI

Maksym Shein’s The Challenger has been shortlisted for the Private Jet Concept Design Award in The International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2016. The concept jet has been based on Antonov-38 aeroplane. The grey colours used gives the jet a business-like tone, something which is very much suited to the clientele. The surface space of the cabin is separated by panels of mahogany colour, the greys and browns complement each other, giving the plane an elegant and sophisticated finish. The jet has a good measure of comfort, including a bar, galley and wardrobe; ideal for passengers and also gives the serving crew a good working area. Furthermore, the ceiling form connects all the areas of the cabin, providing a sense of fluid continuity. The idea of ceiling’s form is not only to give this jet a beautiful and contemporary décor but is also a safety aspect as the panel marks draw the passenger’s attention to both the emergency exits. In addition to this safety feature, directional lights run through along the centre of the floor of the cabin, an intriguing and welcome addition to the jets interior. This concept jet is all about passenger convenience and the private flying experience. Keeping passengers entertained is one of the main focuses of the concept; each seat is equipped with its own in flight entertainment system and a personal space for each passenger. The safety and comfort of the passengers is at the forefront of any designer’s mind in the concept stage and throughout the implementation.

Emrah Onemli Yacht Design with Pearl 63 have been shortlisted for a Concept Over 40m Award in The International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2016. The fundamental aim in this unusual and striking design was to create something that would remain timeless and unaffected by the design trends that emerge and shift through time. To achieve this, emphasis was made on the surface transitions, creating lines that were neither sharp like contemporary designs nor as round as the classic yacht silhouette. The design was conceived to blend the two together in perfect geometric harmony. Although the design is a total of 63 metres long she embodies an extraordinary set of proportions that would usually be realised on a yacht of 80-100 metres. This is thanks to its entire main deck being embedded swiftly and smoothly into the hull. The design was completely orientated around the owner. Perhaps the most significant elements are the full-deck master cabin windows that rise above as wings, ingeniously allowing a balcony to slide out from underneath the cabin floor. This feature enables the owner to reach the sea without any contact with a guest or member of crew. It also means one can disembark the yacht and board the tender to indulge in a splendid open air environment without ever actually leaving the master cabin. At the rear there is a pool with an extended sunbathing area and a beach club with a transformable platform. The front of the vessel features a helipad that when not deployed can be folded underneath the deck, not cluttering the large open areas. The helipad and flybridge are covered with solar panels meaning the performance demand on generators is reduced making her greener than her competitors.

This impressive entry, SPACE, allows passengers to board the aircraft in spectacular style. The concept promotes dynamism and ideas of immersion, while maintaining multi-functionality. The layout consists of a forward facing half height trolley monument with incorporated curved OLED screen partition. This is a ‘flex’ unit that can slide its partition up and down, depending on what stage of flight the passengers are in (night = up) (dining = down). Discreet decorative latches and modern work deck materials have enabled the area to feel less hostile and more in keeping with residential interior furniture. To the rear there is an upgraded galley unit that consists of attractive trolley and meal box doors, as well as aisle modules boasting passenger ‘destination features’. Upon entry the passengers are greeted with an interactive screen stating personal seat information and flight details. Airline branding, duty free adverts and travel promotions can all be utilized through this media real-estate. Nice Mood In The Sky by Maksym Shein

MY Katina by Brodosplit

Category: Aircraft Cabin

Category: Interior Design Award - Power Yacht

Nice Mood in The Sky is a wonderful concept of commercial premium economy class. The main idea behind the project is to find a perfect balance between classic and modern styles.

Launched in 2015, superyacht Katina is a beautiful 60metre vessel, built by the Croatian shipyard Brodosplit. Motor yacht Katina has been designed as a luxury charter yacht and is the biggest Motor yacht built in Croatia with accommodation for 12 passengers in 6 VIP cabins and 10 crew members. The hull and superstructure has been constructed with steel while the wheelhouse is made of Aluminium alloy.

It is based on a Boeing 787, but the idea could be used on other long haul aircrafts too. The yellow and gray colour scheme is used to integrate and interplay two styles. The modern aspect of the design can be seen in all parts of the cabin, providing continuity and keeping the interior flowing as one architectural ensemble. The high tech interior of this aircraft is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the journey, whilst keeping updated with the plane trajectory and flight path. This can be found on the back of every seat; something for all passengers to enjoy and be fascinated with. The panels and units have been decorated with a wood effect to create a calm and serene atmosphere, exactly what is needed on a long haul flight. The seating is a brilliant ergonomic shape which can be positioned and re-set for each passenger’s own comfort. The back of the passenger seat is without an angle so the passenger can leave their seat more quickly and with ease. The entire cabin is focused on the passengers need to be as relaxed and as comfortable as possible. Maksym Shein’s Nice Mood in The Sky has been shortlisted for Concept Cabin Design in The International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2016.

Three spacious decks throughout the yachts give guests lots of space for social activities. The salon on the main deck can easily be turned from a dining area into a party zone with a grand piano. Guests can enjoy various facilities including the gym, sauna, a whiskey bar, and the Jacuzzi on the sun deck with an array of sunbeds. The whole yacht is covered with an audio/video entertainment system with launch ports for iPods and 4G internet connection. The external decks are covered with first class Burma teak and the internal with parquet and marble. On the sun deck Katina boasts a host of equipment including a lifeboat, tender boat, Jet Ski, kayaks, sea bobs, compressor for diving bottles and scuba diving equipment for 10. A special night effect is accomplished through 30 underwater RGB lights. A passenger elevator connects all the guest decks and a dumb-waiter connects the galley with the salon. Katina’s impressive leisure and entertainment facilities make her the ideal charter yacht or socialising and entertaining with family and friends. Brodosplit’s Katina has been shortlisted in The International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2016 in the categories Power Yacht over 40m and Interior Design Power Yacht.

Marshall Exterior designer: Evan K. Marshall Naval architect: Gregory C. Marshall The Ocean Alexander 112 Tri-Level Motoryacht is a culmination of decades of yacht-building experience with world-renowned marine talents at the top of their fields. The 112’ is designed by Evan K. Marshall, London based naval architects, widely recognised for their custom designs of several megayachts, while the engineering was completed by Gregory C. Marshall, award-winning architect based in Victoria, Canada. The 112’s interior design was handled by the Italian Roberto Lottini, and her electrical work was done by US based Polaris Marine. The superyacht also features five staterooms including a full-beam master on the main deck, very rare in a boat of this size. This has a large seating area along with a spacious vanity as well as a small night-head for the owner’s convenience. The master head, located forward, has a full-sized Jacuzzi tub with separate shower and ‘his and hers’ walk-in closets. The full-beam master will be a private oasis for the owner and will be very hard to find in this grand style on other yachts of comparable size. The 112 accommodates 10: owner, guests and 6 crew in its original configuration, but Ocean Alexander have made it highly adaptable to the way the owner prefers to entertain. A few simple adjustments in the salon can change the full bar from circular seating to a big starboard view. The new 112 is a bright new star in the firmament of megayachts.

Horizon 70 by Argo Navis has been developed with an intention to offer remarkable style and impeccable design. It’s a synthesis of modern, sharp lines and elements of a timeless evocative look, such as the sheer line dropping down towards the stern. The concept aims to offer spacious areas that are usually found on 80-foot yachts. A sizable swimming platform, broad aft stairs, a huge sunbed, a cockpit area that can easily accommodate 12 people and a forward seating area with automatic shade are just some of the features help to achieve that goal. Side windows run all along the sides of the hull offering astounding views from each cabin. The ceiling of the main saloon contains a skylight of 10 square meters providing natural illumination. All areas with windows and glass have fully automatic blinds for total coverage if so desired. Accommodation is divided into three main sections; full beam master bedroom with en-suite, entrance lobby and main saloon offering standing height of 2.4 meters, crew quarters are placed at fore end and completely separated from guest premises. The yacht is equipped with a bespoke tender of 4.6m stored underneath the sunbed. It can take up to 5 adults for a quick shore transfers or it can be utilized for any kind of water sport; deploying and recovery is made via aft platform lifting mechanisms. Monte Cassino is a Broward motor yacht being refitted by Karen Lynn Interior Designs. Karen Lynn was contracted to design and project manage the transformation of the vessel at Rolly Marine in Fort Lauderdale. The owner is European and has international business interests and loves the minimal modern French style. The development of this project, due to reach completion in 2016, revolved around an interior refit for a 106 ft/ 32.31M Broward, originally delivered in 1990. The previous layout on board the yacht comprised four cabins, which poses the first major structural change, as plans for the refit involve transforming two guest cabins into a large Master SR and ‘his and hers’ Master Head. In this near complete overhaul, all component design schemes are being changed, including lighting, electricals, appliances, plumbing, flooring, all finishes, woodwork, cabinetry, overheads, loose and fixed furniture, window treatments, stone and marble, glass and mirrors. Also being redesigned are the galley and crew areas, the sundeck and the exterior profile of the yacht. The overall aesthetic of the project is a response to the client’s love of clean, functional and minimal design. The client also owns another 71m yacht and enjoys being a part of the design process. This aesthetic is reflected in the effective layout plan of the main living spaces, and by maintaining a clean colour palette throughout. In working closely with the client and reacting to their needs, the resulting impression is clean and minimal, with a practical use of space. Karen Lynn Interior Designs have been shortlisted for a Concept up to 40 metres Award in The International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2016.

Explorer Yacht Storm, a Darwin Class 107, is the glorious product of a collaboration between shipbuilders Cantiere delle Marche of Ancona, Italy, exterior designer Hydrotec – Cantiere delle Marche, naval architect Hydrotec - Cantiere delle Marche, and the interior designer: PFA & Partners srl - Pierluigi Floris Architetto and Aldo Ferraro. This refit was extensive to say the least; the project involved many customisations required by the expert ship-owner. The already spacious areas were designed and re-proportioned in height. The interior height allowance was increased to 2.18m, very unique for a 100-foot superyacht. The interior decor and style is characterised by a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with the use of walnut wood tones, wallpapers, leathers and other luxury materials used to create an inviting ambience. The owner’s stateroom received particular attention and is spread over the entire beam of the yacht. Here a highly original solution for connecting the sleeping area with the bath and the dressing area has been created. There is a perfect balance between operational and leisure functions here and throughout the superyacht. The build of this yacht was exciting in every respect: the synergy between shipowner and crew, the goals shared by them and the whole design team, and the driving force created by a common passion for the explorer ship and the quality of the construction details has created a very special ship.

The refit of EIGHT after her launch in 2005 represents a true accomplishment for Rome based Solido Interiors. All 46 metres of EIGHT were refitted with the purpose of accomplishing all of the owners’ dreams and desires. The brief was to create a layout that would allow the enjoyment of wide and bright spaces, in order to ensure a close connection with the external environment. The owner was smart and very clear of their requirements, with a passion for technology and innovation and a strong bond with the sea, considering it to be a boundless field of exploration but a familiar, friendly place simultaneously. Spaces have a contemporary and original décor, leitmotif of different areas, characterized by extremely clean and harmonious lines. At the same time, the energy is powerful and sophisticated illustrated in the clever combination of wood and fine leathers, glasses assembled with inner copper foils, finely processed metals and rare marbles. The collaboration of CRN, Nuvolari Lenard and Solido Interior Design have created a timeless object unconcerned with passing trends and styles.

The WIDER 150 is a sleek, modern, avant garde tri-deck superyacht. Constructed entirely in aluminium, the elegant silhouette of the WIDER 150 was created by Fulvio De Simoni in collaboration with Tilli Antonelli and the in-house WIDER design team.

Mazu Yachts wanted to offer their clients a boat that can serve their needs in as many ways as possible.

The WIDER 150 is unique in her ability to provide a number of luxury features only usually found on a larger vessel. She boasts three spacious decks for guests to enjoy, a 90 square meter beach club, a 7-meter swimming pool and a 32-foot tender, among other impressive amenities. In all this space, the WIDER 150 is able to accommodate up to 11 guests, with all guestrooms coming complete with ensuite bathrooms. A 75-meter-squared master stateroom with a 4-meter-squared sea terrace is located on the main deck and four additional guest staterooms are located below deck. As with WIDER 42, continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces was an issue of the utmost importance and the interior areas were managed more freely, focusing on attaining the greatest integration between the yacht and the surrounding environment, with a style that follows no fashion trend, characterised by clean lines and taut, smooth surfaces. All WIDER projects feature a moment of design magic: on the 150 a section of foredeck raises up at the touch of a button to become a light yet robust roof, protecting a fully equipped lounge area. The massive skylounge will be a favourite place for guests to enjoy. The interior is contemporary and luxurious while a balcony forward from the master stateroom located on the main deck and sea-level balconies open around the swimming pool at the transom. Good spatial planning like this is a feature on the WIDER 150, from the open-plan saloon on the main deck to the saloon on the upper deck.

Support Vessel, Leisure Yacht, Chase Boat and tender, the MAZU fiftyeight is the boat for multitasking.

The boat itself can operate with the diverse functions of 5 different kinds of vessels, and as such, it is transformative in nature. Due to its abilities, she was given a more military aesthetic and in doing so made both the boat and the design fit each other. The concept was to have a leisure boat with luxurious amenities, combined with capability to carry toys and tenders with over 40 knots of speed. The boat could be used as a mega yacht tender, a chase boat, support vessel or a leisure craft; there is no such product in the current market. This project is one of the most unique, high quality builds and mechanically designed power yachts. The hull is cold moulded with layers of vertical grain wood veneers over an open framework male building mould, and for added strength; fibreglass, kevlar or carbon fibre cloth is applied to one or both sides of the hull shell. The cabin layout is designed to your style and preference, as all the interior furniture is custom built inside the cabin and is bonded directly to the hull, becoming one solid structure. The boats can be completely customized at no additional cost, any desired colour or paintwork from metallic flake to flat matte. Mazu Yachts fiftyeight has been shortlisted in The International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2016 in the Concept up to 40m Award category.

This refit has been one of the most complex that Balk Shipyard has ever undertaken, yet, it has only involved around a third of the actual yacht. It is believed that no other shipyard has ever attempted to remove a bow section in order to extend the yacht by nearly two and a half metres. There was more to the refit than just adding a new bow. Within the interior of the bow, Balk built four brand new crew cabins, multiple storage areas, a crew mess and a laundry. Everything was prefabricated and fitted in the hall, then taken apart again in order to get it on board. The extension added a total of 2.3 metres to Seven Sins, giving her a total length of 43.60 metres. The interior design features beautiful semi-gloss cherry wood panelling and a teak and ebony parquetry floor, whilst Makassar furniture adds an exotic touch. The open dining room can seat 10 guests comfortably around the oval table. Ten large side windows allow an exceptional exterior sea view throughout. The finish of the master suite is fresh and completed in harmonising beige, maple and cranberry themes. The end result raises Seven Sins to a whole new level in the yachting arena.
