1 John was written to reassure Christians that they have eternal life. According to this passage how can you know that God has given you eternal life? What else does he give you?

What does it mean to “lay down your life” for someone you love?

Think about the people in your life; if they could not understand a word you said could they still tell you loved them by your actions for them?

Are there any people in your life where you say that you love them but when you look at how you treat them it disproves your words?

Think about the people God has put in your life; what has God given you that you can use to help meet the needs of your people?

What can you do to better “love in deed and truth” the people God has put in your life this week?
