colossians 3:17

Here we see that the Spirit call us to a life of worship where every word and deed is done in the name of Jesus. Yet we sometimes segment our life into the Christian part and the rest. Discuss some areas of your life that you haven’t yet begun seeing as acts of worship. How might you go about transforming these parts of your life into acts of worship?

Do you tend to view yourself primarily as a physical creature (reality is what you can perceive with your 5 senses) or primarily as a spiritual creature (your body is just a temporary holder for your true self which is your spirit/soul)? What about how you view other people?

Have you considered how the way that you eat, sleep, or move around (activity and exercise) affects your relationship with God? Spend some time as a group/family discussing this.

What might change about your weekly and daily habits if you began to view everything you do as an act of worship? What is one thing you can do this week to grow in seeing all of life as worship?

When you begin to live in a way in which every action and word is an act of worship to God your way of life will seem strange to someone who does not know God. This can lead to great conversations in which we get to be “Salt & Light” and point our friends to Jesus.

For example:

“Why are you not eating as much junk food anymore, are you on a diet? No, but recently I have realized that the way I treat my body shows my gratitude, or ingratitude to God who gave me this body. I want to eat better because I am grateful to God for this amazing gift and not mistreat it and take advantage of His generosity.”

What are some other strange habits we have as Christians that can lead to conversations that point to Jesus?
