CREDITS & REFUNDS: The City of Lakewood closely monitors public health orders to ensure the health and safety of our staff and guests. As a result, classes may be canceled or transitioned to a virtual offering. Should a class be canceled before it begins, a full credit will be automatically issued to your household account for future use. If a class is canceled part way through, a prorated credit will be automatically issued to your household account for future use. Participants may also request a refund via check or credit card at least three days prior to the start of a class. Please allow three weeks to receive a refund. This class will provide you with all the certifications necessary to become a professional lifeguard: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED and First-Aid. Participants must be able to complete the following skills the first day of class: swim 300 yards front crawl or breaststroke without stopping, tread water for 2 minutes using legs only and retrieve a 10 lb brick from deep water within 1 minute, 40 seconds. PAINTING Play with color in a wide range of painting classes and workshops for all levels. STORYTIME (Parent/Child) Join Heritage Lakewood volunteers for a weekly Storytime program. Each week the group will meet and explore classic childhood favorites like "Blueberries for Sal," "Owl Moon" and much more. Hands-on activities that blend art and exploration will follow. VISUAL ARTS (Youth) Art comes to life in this fun, supportive environment for youth! Students will experience creativity that is sparked by ideas and processes in a way that is meaningful to them. Our young artists also are given the foundational skills they need to create from beginning to end. SPRING BREAK @ THE LINK Calling all tumblers, gymnasts, climbers and ninjas! Join us for Spring Break Camp at the Lakewood Link Rec Center. SPRING BREAK ART PLAY-WELL Kids are already naturally gifted creators. With added inspiration from our specially trained instructors, they dive into our massive collections of LEGO®. When school is out, art is in! Spring Break Art provides the freedom to explore and create projects in drawing, painting, sculpture, collage and more. A one-hour supervised lunch break and two 20-minute snack breaks will be provided each day. Morning Studio and Late Studio can be added for an extra fee to parents who need a bit of extra time.
