A
cewell International, along with its sister company Quadtech, is one of the world’s largest producers of speedometers for bicycle, motorcycle and E-bikes. Many well-known Japanese, American and UK branded speedometers are produced by the companies, but the Acewell brand was unknown in the UK until 2006.

At Motorcycle Expo 2009 Acewell partnered with Quadtech (www. quadtech.co.uk) to supply the Acewell-branded product range to the UK. Over the past nine years the product offering has increased considerably, and there are now speedometer models in the range that fit any road motorcycle, dirt bike, quad or kit car. With retail prices from £80 to £260, there is a product for every price point. The new chromed and blackanodised, aluminium-cased round speedometers are the latest offering, and becoming very popular, especially for classic BMW boxers and cafe-racer conversions. Unique to Acewell is its array of speedo cable replacements – the cables look mechanical but are electronic. Well-known brands which use Acewell speedometers include CCM, Ural, Rewaco, TGB, Gas Gas, Yamaha, Jawa and MAC. Quadtech, established back in 2002 as an ATV dealership, put the first ever quad through the MSVA test in 2003 and was involved in the consultation process during the test design. More recently Quadtech worked with its dealer network to thwart the DoT’s plans to stop

farmers having their ‘off-road’ quads modified for road use. The successful campaign has allowed the hundreds of quad dealers in the UK to continue their business. Plug-andplay road lighting kits are available for almost all current Sport Quads, ATVs and UTVs. Other products and brands are distributed in the UK. Included in the range is a twin-head, hardwired HD camera system which uses bullet cameras and automatically records whenever the bike is started. The Aloha Bluetooth headsets from Bikecomm pair with GPS, phone and up to four other headsets and have a range up to a mile.

In late 2017 the Digi-dock (www.digidock. co.uk) range of motorcycle smartphone mounts were introduced to the UK. Unique to Digi-dock is a waterproof pouch that fits on to the mount.
