He’s Got Game
Kirvis wanted a perfect surprise proposal. He asked Melissa to pick him up at his place for the basketball game and set up a beautiful presentation for her when she walked inside. Unfortunately she was so worried about making it to the game on time, she didn’t see it! she ran inside, past his creative work and straight up the stairs. Kirvis had to improvise a little. He acted like he was going to the car. He closed the front door behind him, but waited just outside. Melissa saw his presentation of love as she raced back downstairs. He heard Melissa’s surprised screams of excitement and went inside to pour his heart out to her on one knee. she said Yes! The couple said their “i do’s” at the Beaumont event Center with it’s gorgeous outdoor cascading waterfall and elegant atmosphere. Mrs. Paulette lewis from Platinum designs helped coordinate their dream wedding. Melissa wore a striking Maggie sottero dress; debbie’s delights made the cake. The couple ended their celebration by heading to new orleans, la for their honeymoon.

autumn williams, an account manager, and matthew meinert, the owner of a successful landscaping company, first met at a comedy club in dallas, tX. a few months later on autumn’s birthday, matt proposed in front of their closest family and friends at a local pizza house and wine bar. he spelled out “marry me” on the pizza and autumn could not have been more excited!
Autumn’s advice:
take the time to soak up every moment of the day because it goes by too fast. take some time and walk around to take a look at all of your beautiful decorations, so you can remember how beautiful everything was!
They had an april wedding at elmwood gardens in Palestine, tX, a place close to autumn’s east texas roots. she walked the aisle in a beautiful, allure lace fitted gown. The dress hung off the shoulders and featured a deep v back. every aspect was perfectly planned to enhance a spring wedding. The cake was a 3-tiered white cake with coral peonies and roses detailed on the side. The two indulged in a luxurious honeymoon following their wedding at the hard rock heaven resort in riviera maya, mexico. riviera maya turned out to be a beautiful place to unwind after the stress of planning a wedding.

Tawni, a project manager for rew group, and Patrick, a Project Manager for dPr construction, met through mutual friends during spring break in their last year of college. after dating for some time, they went out for a nice dinner. when they got home, Patrick offered to take their dog Tori for a walk, while Tawni relaxed. after a couple minutes, the dog came running back with a different collar. by the time Tawni noticed the ring attached to the new collar, Patrick was coming around the corner and getting down on one knee to ask Tawni to marry him. They wed just outside of Houston at agave road. “The venue itself is gorgeous. it feels like you are in an exotic location; however, you are just miles from Houston,” says Tawni. The “all-inclusive” venue was perfect for them as they worked on their demanding careers and left the wedding planning to agave road staff. Tawni wore a stunning gown by Justin alexander from Ventura’s bridal Fashions; sunkissed and Made Up did her hair and make up. edible designs by Jessie made the cake and Flower Power Productions took care of floral arrangements.
Tawni’s Advice:
You cannot tell your maid of honor and bridesmaids “thank you” enough throughout the entire process. This is a huge commitment for them, and they deserve a lot of appreciation for their time and effort.

Pamela martin, owner of a gym and sam Pier, a project manager grew up in the same town, but didn’t meet until they went to texas state University. sam was a football player and Pamela was a cheerleader so they continuously ran into each other; the rest is history. One evening as they pulled into a parking lot, sam pointed at the restaurant’s marquee, it read, “Pam, will you marry me?” Family and friends ran out of the restaurant to join their celebration. The night ended with an amazing dinner with their loved ones.

when choosing vendors, make sure to read the reviews on weddingwire, The Knot, and Facebook. i did this and ended up being very happy with every single one of them! i think these websites are extremely helpful.
The two-ring ceremony and reception were held at Hideout on the Horseshoe on the guadalupe river in new Braunfels, texas. They rented the 18-cabin resort for the entire weekend and were able spend time with loved ones. Pamela wore a galina signature gown from david’s Bridal; 2tarts bakery provided the wedding cake.

Kaleen met Thomas in new Braunfels, TX. They were in the same sixth grade class and had a crush on each other. when seventh grade rolled around, Thomas left to attend military school. They reunited at a downtown austin bar ten years later and have been inseparable ever since. Thomas took Kaleen back to their old elementary school where they first met, and in that classroom they shared, he proposed. The wedding was in austin, Texas at The allan house. Kaleen’s stepfather officiated their wedding (he got ordained specifically for their wedding). They had a subtle theme of irish and scottish tradition with scottish thistles incorporated into their floral arrangements. Kaleen wore a simple, elegant straight gown with a beautiful embellished belt to accentuate her waistline.
Kaleen’s Advice
i would not go ‘cheap’ on a wedding photographer. You pay for what you receive, and that made all the difference with my incredible experience with my photographer.
consider having a large rehearsal dinner. we almost had a ‘second reception’, and adding that extra time to meet with everyone the first night during the rehearsal lifted a huge stress of needing to meet and greet with everyone on my big day.

Amy, an Account manager at KhOu 11 and Zachary, a mbA grad student, met through mutual friends. They where just buddies, yet all of their friends knew they would end up dating long before Amy and Zach knew themselves. Zach planned a trip to las Vegas with a bunch of friends, his and hers. As they walked to dinner one night they stopped to watch the bellagio Fountain show; after watching the water dance to your song by elton John, Zach got on one knee and proposed. Friends cheered and congratulated when she accepted. The families gathered at saint Arnold’s brewery in the investor’s Pub for the rehearsal dinner. it was a great place to mingle, play darts and get acquainted. Their ceremony was at The Parador, an indoor/outdoor venuein houston, Texas; near downtown, great staff, delicious food and a great price.

we spent a massive chunk of our time with the photographer and videographer, and between one track Films and stefano, we were in stitches the whole time. once we got our wedding trailer back, it was emotional. Mark and i loved watching our wedding again – especially from the vantage point of your family and friends.
From Captains’ to Newlyweds
Brooke elizabeth Jones and Mark Patrick chinetti, both army captains, met while stationed in colorado. The officers worked together, ate together and started spending free time together as best friends. one day, she accidentally ended a phone call with, “i love you.” The rest is history. Mark decided to propose while they were traveling in italy and made reservations on a hotel restaurant’s private balcony; it overlooked the river and had a view of the sunset. after hinting this would be a special night, they arrived to find the balcony was not too private and Mark aborted
his mission. Brooke realized nothing special happened and became moody as she worried he’d changed his mind. The next day worked out a little smoother; Mark proposed to Brooke in a private tasting room at tenuta torciano. The experience symbolized that life will turn out exactly like it should even, when your plans fall apart. The wedding took place in houston, tX at holy rosary catholic church where the bride wore a beautiful custom la sposa gown. The ceremony was followed by a brunch themed reception at The Parador. The Mediterranean ambiance reminded them of their engagement trip to italy; the brunch included mimosas, omelet and waffle stations and cakes from Three Brothers Bakery. The party moved to the Jw Marriot galleria where they spent the evening catching up with friends and family. The bride and groom honeymooned on the wonderful island of Fiji. - rocio graña

My introduction to the Incan culture is magical and mystical thanks to the Peruvian and Andean cultural immersion at the Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel, spectacularly located on the banks of the Vilcanota River in Aguas Calientes. I left my Houston home nearly twentyfour hours ago, but I’m not tired, I’m invigorated. The luxury 62-room property has recently renovated guest rooms and public spaces featuring historic Peruvian and Andean themes and symbols while featuring world-class modern amenities. The best amenity is Sumaq’s location. Most people visit Machu Picchu from Cusco and spend a big part of their day in transit. The bus ride upto Machu Picchu from

Sumaq is less than 20 minutes and you can spend your day taking in the historic sights. Food is a big part of our adventure. We learn to prepare Peruvian Ceviche and Peru’s flagship cocktail, the Pisco Sour at a cooking demonstration
before heading to Qunuq for a six-course degustation tasting meal. Qunuq creates innovative dishes with ancient Peruvian culinary traditions and exciting flavors. Salmon trout cubes, lamb shank and avocado risotto are menu standouts.
Finally, Machu Picchu. Early morning hikers head up Hiram Bingham Highway. We bought tickets days ago and were lucky to get some of the limited seats on the bus. We stand in line in the center of town on Av. Hermanos.
Machu Picchu is considered the heart of the Incan culture. Built with polished dry-stone walls, many buildings have been restored to their original glory. We join the crowds, go around a bend and see the first of many terraced fields. The landscape is simply breathtaking and quite unbelievable. Terraces were carved at different elevations so the Incans could grow crops at various temperatures; they seem to go on forever. Even though we are 7972 feet up, there are hills much higher; I see hikers on one of them. Our group entered at the main entrance.
