We are going to have new vision and hope for this new year. We are going to live each day in expectancy of what God invisions for our lives. Karissa Hagemeister-Irani is on a life long journey to share love, beauty and truth with the world. She enjoys modeling, acting and singing. She has her own fashion line and in July of 2016, Karissa published her first book. Happy New Year my BBB beauties! Can you believe it? It is literally 2020… uh literally! For me, I noticed that time seemed to have “sped up” the moment I started doing this thing called Adulting; resulting in God becoming more and more of my existence, being (which is different), my necessity and newness. Now before I become a longer interruption than need be, as many of you are still vibrantly relishing in this celebratory mode of welcoming the New Year still and kicking off January in high gear, this love note will actually be my New Year’s K.I.S.S to you…an intentional and purpose driven gentle peck on the cheek that will leave you thinking like no other peck has before. I will, Keep. It. Short. And Sweet. Better yet, Keep. It. Short. And. Simple-my Sweets! Think back on all that has transpired last year that caused you to be here in this moment as you: A better you. A tougher you. A softer you. A content you. A wiser you. Simply, a new you! Now, even if you feel that you may not have achieved all you wanted to or should have by now, nor even landed where you thought you would, to not being all you that you hoped and deemed to be…know that the process(es) you encountered in 2019 were lessons to be learned to be victories won-THIS go round! Transformation, transition, change, maturity and growth are all symbolic of being new or renewed. God makes all things beautiful. He makes all things New. That’s His sovereign mastery - New is His New Hue. The fact you are still standing, still in the game-having not giving up nor not wanting to give up is your new New! Own it and wear His new hue proudly! 14

Many times, the process of being hidden from others-left to ourselves to be face to face with Him…in order to understand why we are being tested, stretched, expanded, made more flexible, pruned, purged, temporarily “held back,” brought to a divinely ordained stand still, not receiving an answer from Him “quick” enough on your terms or timing, told no or not now…or just mere silence at all. All of these components and incidences were necessary and essential for your new: new beginning or your renewal. All to become more girded in your faith (be it new, seasoned or renewed), surer in your walk with Him or bolder and more confident in your character in order to receive your deliverance, release from strongholds and/or protection from the many curveballs unexpectedly thrown at us here and there by Life that can make you feel that no form of change, newness, victory or even beauty is the end result or be birthed out of “ugly” timely, tedious, painful, uncomfortable and unwanted” methods…that sometimes…being truthful and transparent…are unconventional at times. But, know, if you’re not understanding the hows, the why’s, the whens and wheres…asking more, waiting more and not knowing…feeling like sense of self and control is gone or fleeting…especially when presenting these inquiries and concerns to Him…chances are…your new is happening… step aside…let Him do it because God makes all things beautiful! And, He perfectly in our imperfection makes all things New! This is His area of expertise-New. New Is His New Hue…this season! Be. In. Season.

As a new year falls upon us, like fresh snow in the North, this season has always been accompanied with goals and resolutions. Some may choose to eat healthier, be more giving, or even choose to travel more. A new year brings with it new experiences and unforeseen adventures. “New year, new me,” posts will be the hash-tag of our social medias. We celebrate starting fresh every year, but sometimes we bring with us a suitcase of old mentalities. Despite the concrete determination and resolve we pump in our veins to lunge after the resolutions we set for ourselves; we persist to carry with us negative thoughts, and doubts about ourselves. I am not enough. I can’t. I will never measure up. I’m not as beautiful as her. I am not as dauntless as him. The list can go on forever, and we have yet to triumph over our old self. This doubt that follows us is planted in the mind and rages an internal battle in the brain resulting in a shortage of enthusiasm for the progression of the new year. These perspectives of ourselves, from the past, should be left in the previous year. Let the transformation start from within, because we are new creations in God and we are being renewed day by day. The old has passed away and we are made new again. Let us welcome the new year with a new mentality that shouts, “I will, I can, I am an over-comer!” Let our resolution involve beauty in the brain. 2020 Vision by Karissa Hagemeister-Irani
I am sure you have heard several times by now, the slogan for every new year: “New Year, new you.” This slogan is an actual truth for this year. I can feel it in my bones, in every part of my being. As we enter 2020, we are receiving new vision for our present moment and the future. This year, we are new creations. There are six main passages in the Bible that God highlighted for me to share with you for this new year. These are verses that you can speak out in faith over yourself and your family. These verses are going to be the catalyst that help change your vision to 2020 vision. We are God’s Creation The first verse that we are looking at for this year comes from Genesis 1:31a NIV, “ God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.” Let me ask you a few questions, do you consider yourself as one of God’s creations? We all should have answered yes to that question because as far as I know, there is no one else out there making REAL humans yet. So God has created you. Did God only call the things that he made at the beginning of time good? No, it says ALL. God is not confined by time. So at the moment that he created the world and called it good, he could see all the way up to this very moment. He could see you and he could see me. He called us Very Good. He did not just call us good, or okay … he called us VERY GOOD. He is pleased with his creation of you. He did not look forward in time and say, “Oops what happened to this one?” He looked and said, “She is made in my image. She is very good.” So, who are you? You are God’s creation and God thinks very highly of you. It is Time for the NEW The second passage we are going to look at comes from 2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” If you consider yourself a follower of Jesus, a Christian, than you should be living as a new creation. As a new creation, the things of old (the things of this world) should not be able to impact you like they may have done in the past. What are some things that you used to deal with in your life before Christ? Were you an alcoholic, addicted to porn, promiscuous, severely depressed, extremely anxious? If any of those things (and more) described your life before Christ, than they should not be able to torment you now that you do have

Christ. Christ came to save us from all of those things that are meant to destroy our lives. How does that work? Well, when you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, he is welcomed into your heart. Where Christ is, no evil thing can be. All must bow before Christ. Many times these things will hang around even after we give our life to Christ because we have not learned to let go and allow God to do his will. As this new year starts, I want you to shift your focus. No longer gaze at the things of your past life, the things that caused you to stumble or brought you pain. Instead focus on the fact that you are a new creation in Christ and new things are coming your way this year. Renewing Your Mind As we approach the third verse, we need to realize that there is action that we need to take in order to get this 2020 vision. Colossians 3:9-10 NIV says, “Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.” There are a few things that these two verses instruct us to do. The first thing we need to do is stop practicing our old deeds. Stop giving into the things that Jesus freed you from, the things that he died to save you from. Only you know in your heart what those things are. The only way that you are going to be able to do this and to walk in the newness of your life in Christ is to renew your mind. The verse says to renew your mind in the knowledge of the image of the Creator. How do you do that when you cannot see him? You renew your mind by reading the Bible. Everyday you need to be renewing your mind, reading the Bible. If this is something new to you, start off reading for 10 minutes a day. Increase the time every week. As you spend time reading the Bible, you will begin to see that those things that once troubled you do not have much of a grasp on you anymore, and soon their grasp will be gone from you completely. As you continue reading the Bible, your vision will become clearer until you are able to see 2020, how God views you. God is doing a New Thing This next passage of Scripture gives us insight into what is coming next. Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV says, “Forget the former things;do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” a reoccuring theme has arisen from the past several passages: forget the past, do not dwell on it any 27
longer. God is doing a new thing in this new year. If you felt like you were at a dead end, a brick wall or lost in the wilderness, God is going to provide a road where you did not see one before. If you feel that certain parts of your life have dried up (maybe finances, relationships, your spiritual journey), God is going to make streams of provision spring forth for you. What do you have to do for this to happen? Forget the past and move forward as a new creation, constantly renewing your mind. Daily Renewal These last two points are beacons of light for you as you begin this new year journey. 2 Corinthians 4:16 NIV says, “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” This is a command and a promise. Do not lose heart, do not give up. There are going to be struggles because we are still on this imperfect Earth. But if you continue to renew your mind in the Word of God, day by day, your entire being will be renewed day by day. Everything will get better, do not lose hope. God is Faithful “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him,’” (Lamentations 3:22-24 NIV). When you stumble in this new journey this year, thank the Lord for his love and mercy. Get back up and keep moving towards the new you that he has created you to be. God is faithful. His love and mercy are new for you every morning. Every morning you have a new chance to start again. Keep your hope in him. Keep your eyes fixed upon him. You will receive 2020 Vision this year. God wants you to view yourself as he views you. Keep your focus on him and everything will begin to turn crystal clear.

Date Night @ Seasons 52 By Karissa Hagemeister-Irani Welcome to the new Date Night section of our magazine. Whether you are single or have been married for 50 years, dates should be a big part of your life. Dating keeps the relationship alive, healthy and fun for both parties. Going on dates should continue after you get married, after you have children, and for the entirety of your marriage. Dates do not have to be expensive but you should take time at least once a month to date your significant other. Let them know that you still love them, still want to spend time with them and still care deeply about them. Every month we will share with you a date night spot that we have really enjoyed. We will give you the low down on the food, atmosphere and the experience as a whole. If you like the date night idea, you are more than welcome to use it on your next date night out. Arman and I had the pleasure of enjoying our six month anniversary at Seasons 52 come the end of December. This was the first time for both of us at this restaurant. In my opinion it was a perfect date spot. We felt like we were enjoying the whole place to ourselves. The lighting and fireplaces give off a very romantic vibe. The food that we enjoyed was all very delicious. Something that I really liked about this particular restaurant is that they change their menu with the seasons. The food they serve is based off from the season that you dine in. This makes for very fresh tasting food. It also makes life a little more fun by changing it up every little bit. For example, we dined in the winter. If we go back in the spring, the menu items will be different. Overall, we loved our experience. The atmosphere was calm and romantic. The food was very tasty and the staff were exceptionally nice. We would definitely come to Seasons 52 for another date night. 38

B&D Honeymooners: Snorkeling at Grand Cayman by the Irani’s This month, we are taking you all the way to Grand Cayman and under the sea. We spent an afternoon snorkeling right off from the coast of George Town in the Grand Cayman Islands. Within a small stretch of the ocean, we could pop our heads down and see all kinds of colorful fish as we explored reefs. After a short trip on the boat, we splashed into the water again and enjoyed sights under the sea of sunken ships. These ships had the look of what one might call a pirate ship. Those that guided the snorkeling tour shared stories of what these ships might have been and how they happened to end up on the bottom of the sea. I will let them share their story with you when you go snorkeling at Grand Cayman Islands. 42
Snorkeling at the Grand Cayman was a fun and somewhat exhausting adventure. It requires a lot of swimming and wading choppy water. Karissa had never snorkeled before so getting used to the idea of being able to breathe with your mouth in the water is slightly terrifying for the first few go-rounds. If you are a first timer, just take it in slowly. Remind your mind that everything is okay, you are going to be able to breathe through the tube just fine. It is all in your mind. Once you can control that, then you can enjoy the experience and fully take in all the beauty that lives in the waters below. We definitely recommend a Go Pro for these wonderful water adventures because you can capture the coolest pictures and video that you would not normally be able to get with your phone or your camera. This is a great vacation and adventure for Honeymooners. It is always better to snorkel with someone instead of trying it all on your own. We hope you enjoy your time in the Grand Cayman waters.

Tiki Masala Cauli Ingredients: 1 medium cauliflower cut into medium pieces 1 cup of onion diced 4 cloves garlic minced 1/2 inch ginger finely grated 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 tbsp olive oil freshly chopped cilantro for garnish For the Sauce: 3 medium tomatoes chopped 1 medium red bell pepper chopped 1/2 cup fresh cilantro chopped 3/4 cup almond milk Spices: 3/4 teaspoon garam masala 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon salt chili powder for spice to taste

Directions: To Prepare the Sauce: In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil on medium heat. Add in the mustard seeds and fry for 30 seconds. You should start to see them sizzle and pop. Add in the ginger, garlic, and onions. Cook for a few minutes until the onions become translucent. While the mixture is cooking, add all the other sauce ingredients above into a blender (do not blend yet). Add all the contents from the pan into the blender. Blend on high until it becomes a smooth sauce. Once blended, pour it back into the pan, add the remaining spices. To Make the Meal: Add the cauliflower into the sauce and cook covered for about 10 minutes on low heat. Remove the cover and cook again on medium heat, stirring occasionally for about 10-15 minutes. Once finished, garnish with cilantro and eat 49

By Arman Irani Hope you’re ready for a New Year and a New You, a time for 20/20 vision. May Elohiem give you the guidance that you seek, as you seek him with your whole heart and turn from your sins. Rest assured the God of Abraham still does great miracles and helps those who call upon the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Do not be mistaken by false leaders, false idols, or false prophets there is only one name that will be confessed by each and every tongue.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” Well that’s pretty cool.. When you become saved, don’t get caught up with your past life or your past mistakes. Our Righteous Father has forgiven you because of his love, mercy, and grace. So don’t dwell on the things of the past because they will not help you get to where God wants you to go. You will be like a car stuck in the sand, just stepping on the gas spinning your wheels, but not having any direction or traction to go on the path Jehovah has meant for your life. Instead, I urge you to use your physical Bible as your guide to learn from the mistakes and the wins of the past 2000 years to help move you forward. In my personal experience, God has spoken to me through his Word, using his Holy Spirit, and I request you to do the same ... for your souls are at stake. Not just your mere flesh. You see as new creations we are no longer of our former status in life, whether we were a prince or a pauper before receiving salvation and cleansing of sins, we have now been made into saints (spiritually speaking). According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, a Saint is “one of God’s chosen and usually Christian people.” You are not just a mistake or any other negative thing you may think. Do what is holy, what is right according to the Lord and watch how the Lord works on your heart and does all for good in your life this year. You will go through valleys and maybe even through the valley of the shadow of death… but remember, “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me,” (Psalm 23:4). What an awesome God we serve.
As you begin your New Year don’t forget these words “ The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. I pray Brothers that you keep this continually in your hearts and souls for God only wants good for us don’t confuse him with the Devil... “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (John 10:10 NLT). Be Blessed! Obediance & Obstacles Name: Jason Hughes Short Bio: Jason lived in Texas most of his life. He was a competitive gymnastics coach, and served in the military. Now he is a personal trainer in New Mexico, advising people in nutrition, supplements, workouts and rehab. He became a Christian as a child but he had a lot of struggles, especially during his time in the military. His wife really helped him with his walk with Christ. She is very black and white in the way she believes. She served as a sort of bumper that one would use in bowling, for his spiritual journey. Now, Jason looks to stick with people that have the same mindset. Iron sharpens iron. What Legacy would you like to leave behind? Jason - The biggest thing is, I would like to put the spotlight on God. I want to continue moving forward in this life‌ I have not found what my particular ministry is but I believe it has to do with the field that I am currently involved in. It is a great thing to think about. If we do not think about what kind of legacy we want to leave, how will we be able to track it. Same goes for tracking our finances or workouts, how will we know if we are reaching our goals? If we want to leave a legacy, we need to be mindful of it. What is your Message for 2020? Jason - Obedience to God is where you will get rewarded. It has to be true, solid obedience. Not from the religious aspect but for the relationship. It needs to come out of your heart. How have you overcome Obstacles? Jason - I believe that the two biggest things that affect relationships are alcohol and porn. Those two things are closely related as well. I had a struggle with both of them. When I was dating my wife, she made it very clear that it was not something that she was going to put up with. My walk with God is what really helped me. My relationship with him and love for him is what gave me a change of heart. My desire is to have a real relationship with God. HELLO
DAUN LESS Hope you enjoyed the story from this month and it helped deepen your roots with God. I pray that soon we will all bear good fruit for the kingdom no matter what your journey has looked like thus far. This year of 2020, I plan to make it my best year yet, I’ve learned a lot, been through a lot, and thanks to the power of the Holy Spirit, I actually may have a shot to do something worthwhile here on earth before it’s time to go home. I can’t for certain tell you that I’ve planned out 2020. In fact, I honestly don’t even know what tomorrow will hold.. But I’ve learned through the last several months that worrying doesn’t add an hour to your life so why even bother your minds with thoughts like those. Furthermore, you can’t even control anything even though we may try to in our feeble little minds. I pray that all you Dauntless Men reach out to God first this year, instead of man, when you have burning questions or things you just can’t figure out. Blessed are we to have Jesus who lives with us and goes with us and even fights our battles. Make your spiritual walk strong this year just like your physical temple and may you be blessed brothers!
