DAUN LESS What a start to this new year. There has been colder weather than we have seen in years. Almost everyone we knew was catching covid again for the first, second or third time. But I can sense a change in the atmosphere. I can see God’s hand at work as he begins to turn the tides back in his direction. With an open heart and mind, be expectant of what God is about to do in your life, with your family and with your health. He desires the best for his children and that includes you. Karissa Hagemeister-Irani is on a life long journey to share love, beauty and truth with the world. She enjoys modeling, acting and singing. She has her own fashion line and in July of 2016, Karissa published her first book. Her future plans are to revamp the fashion & entertainment industry with the love, truth and beauty through both her fashion business and Beautiful & Dauntless magazine. Editor-in-Chief of the Dauntless section of the magazine, Arman Irani, married Karissa in June of 2019.

Arman Irani is just another fellow human. He’s admittedly a little bit nerdy. How nerdy? Well, he just received a Bachelors degree in Nanotechnology. Arman loves working out, cooking healthy, dressing up, traveling and he’s also a bit of a gamer. He has no qualms with moving in faith to new destinations and embarking on new adventures in life (as the phrase goes, you only live once!). When it comes down to it, Arman believes life is short and hopes that you become inspired and believe in yourself to do the things that you want in this life and follow your calling.

Arnette German is a native of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. She took her leap of faith and finally decided to yield to her passion for fashion by enrolling in the online Graduate Program of Fashion Journalism at Academy Art University in San Francisco, California. No stranger to the stage, Arnette is a member of the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe in Sarasota, Florida. Presently calling Bradenton, Florida home, Arnette spends her free time either volunteering at her local church and spending time with friends and family, especially her best friend.

Hello Loves!

Happy Valentine’s Day to you in advance! Gift yourself, be it this week, month, couple of months further along and/or this year, to release the power in your walking away from all relationship(s) or friendships that are stifling your growth, dimming your light, limiting your success and choking your authenticity. Therefore, resulting in you either underachieving and standing in the background in lieu of the front where you’re purposed to be, smiling less and crying more, questioning your worth and second guessing why they’re investing themselves into you and/or hating yourself and making excuses for their mental, emotional and/or physical abuse your sustaining. If no “abuse” is occurring, any form of toxicity regularly being present i.e. manipulation, deflecting, gas lighting, teasing at your expense, consistent red flags being waved, deal breakers or your morals and values routinely having to be compromised…I’m lovingly saying it is time to walk away. There’s Power In Your Walking! From an intimate angle, walking away…is it hard to do? Will it be hard to do? Yes. Walking away is hard to do; especially, when genuine love is involved in the “inspite of”. More so, when you reasoned within yourself why “holding on” and “fighting through” is appropriate. The power in walking, “almost”, seems as disrespectful, shady and wrong. But, once you get the wherewithal in knowing the power of walking only comes from when you want to, the power in walking is released and you see that is not only doable but right! I can say this because I walked this. I love hard. Did so, in one relationship that was not only deceptive but toxic and abusive. By not listening early on, to and ignoring the various avenues and people God was utilizing to alert me, there’s power in walking, resulting in me subjecting myself to 18

unnecessary and extended pain and trauma longer than I needed to. He creatively, yet, lovingly orchestrated different or random individuals that I’d either knew or newly crossed paths with, (specifically during that season), freely sharing their stories; giving me warnings and insightful directives on how to walk-sometimes, without me uttering a word to them. For those that I informed, I permitted their seeds of wisdom to be planted because I knew it would eventually germinate and the right response would occur from me walking eventually. However, I still didn’t move in the walking. When I would muster up the power to do so, I would; only later return. God even had my Bishop throughout that season, (reaching out to me as my attendance and participation dropped noticeably from church), by him checking up on me and sending scriptures and/or various prayers, not knowing he was ministering to me where I was as I didn’t share anything with him because of my embarrassment and shame for where I was in life altogether. So, I get it. It is hard. In the beginning, I didn’t want to leave because I was purposefully ignoring the red flags and thinking I could change him through love…my love. However, as the toxicity and abuse progressed, knowing the relationship was wrong, I wanted out and I didn’t know where to begin; thinking about it, I’d immediately become scared and I would talk myself out of the thought with invalid reasons. Additionally, telling myself I wouldn’t be able to make it, I didn’t have the mental strength or gall to leave. But, the contending thought was that overall, I felt that because I had turned my back on God indirectly intentionally for love, (at that time it was a long time I was in a relationship), He was punishing me and I didn’t deserve Him, His love, His grace or even asking Him to get me out of the mess I put myself in! *Side note: Don’t think that way at all. Regardless and in spite of, God loves you unconditionally and is waiting on you with open arms when you intentionally come back to Him to love you and help you! He is always there!* How did I leave (to wrap this up)? Well, in the mist of that, I turned back to what I knew-Him. God. Being a Preacher’s Kid, reared in the church, He honored my prayer at 20

twelve years old when asking Him to keep me, regardless of how far off I got…”bring me back to you God,” and He did. I returned back to implementing prayer, personal praise/worship and Bible studying with re-attending and re-participating in church because I strongly felt by coming back to Him; in Him, my power and the power to walk alongside being obedient, bold and strong to do so, would rise up, present itself and make it achievable and it did. My soror during that time, stated, “you will leave when you are ready to do so. You have to be tired. You’re not tired or sick of it yet, all the way. You will know when you determine it is enough,” and in not knowing when that day would be, I went back to God knowing He would help me and walk with me. And, it was through Him reconnecting me with my Mentor, who is also a powerful Man of God, to minister to me one night telling me, “ God said it’s time to leave and tonight. Stay at your Mother’s. Though it may seem hard-He will make everything fall in place as He is also restoring that relationship between you and her as well-everything will fall in place. And it will be through your obedience, He will make everything fall in place,” and I did. I walked. I walked in obedience and in faith. Additionally, I walked in my reestablished and renewed fondness, love and appreciation for God. He sent help because He knew I was sick and tired of it all the way. Most importantly, as a loving parent, He knew I finally had enough! He always sends help at the appointed time… on time…when He knows we are ready! Therefore, I tenderly say please listen and learn from my story. Add God to all of your relationships and friendships first. If you forget to, as soon as you remember and definitely as soon as trouble arises. He will let you know if it is not healthy, not productive and/or not right and will instruct you on how and when to walk. Additionally, He will provide you with the gall, strength and boldness to do so. Whether it be a business, intimate, family and/or platonic relationship or friendship; pay attention to the various subtle or sometimes loud, yet, obvious clues He gives you-listening is key and knowing Him are key! There’s Power In Your Walking! He knows when you’ve decided you have had enough and ready; He’ll meet where you are with open arms to pour His unconditional authentic love on you. Walk to Him because there’s power in your walking! 22

Finding the Perfect Valentine’s Day Outfit By Karissa Hagemeister

It’s February, that means Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. This is one day that many people look forward to and the rest of society really doesn’t look forward to at all. Some people even hate the day. I spent many years of my life as a single lady. However, it never really bothered me being single on Valentine’s Day. Of course I would have loved to have a date, a boyfriend or even a spouse but I did not let that stop me from enjoying the day. The way I look at it is you have just as much right to love on yourself as anybody else would. You can and you should be loving on yourself. Whether you’re single or whether you’re having a date on Valentine’s Day take the time to do something special for yourself. As ladies we enjoy dressing up, getting our nails done, getting her hair done, etc… All these different things make us feel good and feel pretty. So for Valentine’s Day, I challenge you to think of a way to make yourself feel good and feel pretty and confident. If you’re going to be alone on Valentine’s Day, I want you to put a big smile on your face as you think about being single. Singleness is a precious time that we should embrace. It is a time to discover ourselves, understand our world and to embrace the woman that God made us to be. Here is where your challenge comes in single ladies: I want you to think about what it means to look beautiful and to feel beautiful. What make you look and feel beautiful? I want you to buy yourself a box of chocolates and roses. I want you to go get your nails done and get yourself a new outfit. And if you’re going to stay at home cook yourself an amazing meal or order an amazing meal in. It’s a day to celebrate love and you have every right to love yourself. In fact, you need to love yourself before anyone else can love you. It is not a pride thing or an egotistical matter. It is about realizing you’re worth and identity in Jesus Christ and loving the way he made you. If you’re going to be on a date with a friend, boyfriend, spouse, etc. for Valentine’s Day, I want you to have the same mindset. Yes, be excited to share love with your significant other or your bffs but you also should be excited to love on yourself. Whatever your plans may be for Valentine’s Day with your significant other, I want you to pick out a new outfit that makes you feel like 100 bucks or million bucks. There are several things that people do for Valentine’s Day many of the common ones are going out to eat at a fancy place, going to the movies, something fancy and somewhat glamorous. There are other activities that are not as common but still occur for Valentine’s Day. Those could be going to the bowling alley, going on an adventurous hike, camping, more outdoorsy or action related dates.

For those that are going to be going out to eat or going to do fancy, fun things and such, I want to encourage you to wear a dress. I know not all ladies wear dresses. Some ladies don’t even own dresses. Whether you think that Valentine’s Day is stupid or are you love the holiday, take a little time to enjoy it by doing something that you don’t normally do - like a wearing a beautiful outfit. I will link some different items from online stores that have many different dresses to choose from and different price ranges you can choose the perfect dress for you for your date. We all have different body shapes, we are different heights and we all have different things that we are comfortable wearing. It’s important for us to pick out our own outfits that we are going to be comfortable and confident in for Valentine’s Day because we know our body better than anyone else does. I want you to enjoy your time that day, so I’m not gonna say you have to wear heels but I do want you to try to dress up a little bit more than you normally do for the day. As I said ,the dressing up is not so much for your significant other, or even if you’re going out with girlfriends, it is more for you. It will help you feel more lovely and therefore feel more beautiful. If you’re going to be doing more action-related or adventure thrilled activities that day or for your date, find a way to spruce it up and make it a little bit more glamorous. Maybe that means wearing some sparkly jewelry, unless you’re going to be swimming in the ocean. Maybe that means doing your make up even if you are going on a hike. Maybe that means wearing a cute outfit that you don’t mind getting a little dirty or dusty or sweaty. Remember the whole point of this holiday is to show that you are loved and you love yourself. I will also link some fun Valentine’s Day attire that can be worn for action and adventure related activities below. Whatever you decide to clothe yourself with on that beautiful and fun day, remember to also clothe yourself in love. God loves and he desires for you to love yourself just as he made you. Roy Lewis Garton Roy Lewis Garton got his start in acting while growing up in beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Here in the heart of Grand Teton National Park, he was cast as an extra in the TV series “The Monroes” with Clay Anderson and Barbra Hershey. From there followed an appearance on the television series “Then Came Bronson” with Michael Parks. One of the most popular television programs to be shot in Roy’s hometown was the pilot for the CBS television series, “The Waltons” titled “The Homecoming.” Roy was cast as a poor teen on a cold and snowy night competing with the Walton children answering bible trivia questions for gifts. Roy went on to appear in other area feature films including “Any Which Way You Can”, “Pursuit of DB Cooper”, “The Mountain Men”, “Dream West”, and “Rocky 4”. All of which were filmed in part in Jackson Hole or in Grand Teton National Park. Mr. Garton took a break from films and pursued his career in broadcasting working as a news journalist. He was employed with various radio and television stations throughout the Western States including one in his hometown in Jackson. As a television news journalist in a very popular resort area, Roy has had the opportunity to cover Statesmen, Presidents, and Russian Diplomats as they passed through the area on political missions. He has also worked with the White House Press Corps. Mr. Garton was one of the first to provide video footage on the outbreak of the Yellowstone fires that devastated the park in the 1980s. Roy left Wyoming in 1992 and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma again working in television before settling down in Florida which was his home for the past 17 years. The acting bug caught Roy again while he was in Florida and he re-launched his career in films and television once again appearing in several network television series and independent films. In January 2018, Roy and his wife Mary, moved to Cookeville, Tennessee outside of Nashville to be closer to their roots of country living and the mountains. In December of 2021, the family returned to Florida missing the grandchildren and the warmer weather. Although now retired, Roy continues to act in films and television and works as a production contractor for various news organizations. Roy has done print modeling jobs for local area projects including Orlando Regional Medical Center, Space Coast Area Transit, Orlando Scene Magazine among others in his career. Mr. Garton currently has 4 major projects. He has just appeared in the TV One network series, “Fatal Attraction” as Detective Matt Barron. His wife and he are featured in the just released crossover music video, “Still Fallin” by the band, Eight Ball from Nashville which has gone over 23 Thousand views since December 24th when it had it’s premiere, and he will be featured in the “Black Widow Murders” in the near future on the Oxygen Network. He will also be featured on “Chrisley Knows Best” in February,2022 on the USA Network. Roy and his wife now make their home in beautiful Sebastian, Florida.

Strawberry Galette Dough Ingredients:

1 cup all-purpose GF flour 3 Tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt

1 stick unsalted butter, cut into pieces FILLING AND ASSEMBLY

8 oz. strawberries, halved

1 Tbsp. plus 1½ tsp. cornstarch

1/3 cup sugar, plus more for sprinkling ½ tsp. vanilla extract 1 large egg, beaten

Whipped cream, or ice cream (for serving) Directions

1. Whisk flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Add butter and mix well.

2 . Gather dough together, and pat into a ¾”-thick square. Using a knife, divide dough into 4 pieces.

Chill until firm, at least 2 hours and up to 3 days.

3. Preheat oven to 400°. Roll out dough on a well-floured surface to a 14” round. Hello guys! I hope everybody is doing well. This is a crazy time in life with the way the world is going but I’ll tell you what it’s great to know the truth about who God is and that his kingdom reigns forever and ever and ever and ever infinity. God is so good! God is the pure goodness of righteousness. God is just an amazing God. For those that try and serve other things that are just objects made out of wood, stone, people wake up!! You have been lied to from the day of your birth not by God, but by the deceiver Lucifer. He has told you from day one that you were unimportant, that you don’t belong, that you are a mess up or some other negative thing. Because all he can do is steal, kill, destroy and lie - so that’s his objective. But we serve a righteous and good God. AGod who died for our sins, went to hell and back, took the keys from hell and brought them back up onto earth and lived amongst people. He is an amazing God. King Jesus - what an honor it is to serve his kingdom, the true and only kingdom. He is a holy, holy, holy God. That’s why angels say that 24/7 - 365, all day every day. While we’re down here worried about stupid problems, God has people worshiping him. So don’t forget who is in the seat of righteousness.
