I just want to start off by saying that I love you and our whole magazine staff loves each one of our readers so much. It is a joy of ours to be able to share inspiration and hope with you every month. We love lifting you up in prayer and showering love into each thing that we share. So whether you are enjoying this month of love with another or you are enjoying it single, know that there are several people out there that love you and create this magazine just for you. This month, our message to you from the heart of God is that you are LOVED!! Even greater than any of our love is the love of God. That love is so extremely great, deep and so passionate just for you. If you had a chance to read my story last month, you would see that we are each creations of God. And God calls all of his creations “very good.” In this magazine, you will see even more of what God says and how he feels about you. Karissa Hagemeister-Irani is on a life long journey to share love, beauty and truth with the world. She enjoys modeling, acting and singing. She has her own fashion line and in July of 2016, Karissa published her first book. Her future plans are to revamp the fashion & entertainment industry with the love, truth and beauty through both her fashion business and Beautiful & Dauntless magazine. Editor-in-Chief of the Dauntless section of the magazine, Arman Irani, married Karissa in June of 2019.

He has no qualms with moving in faith to new destinations and embarking on new adventures in life (as the phrase goes, you only live once!). Arnette German is a native of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. She took her leap of faith and finally decided to yield to her passion for fashion by enrolling in the online Graduate Program of Fashion Journalism at Academy Art University in San Francisco, California. No stranger to the stage, Arnette is a member of the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe in Sarasota, Florida. Presently calling Bradenton, Florida home, Arnette spends her free time either volunteering at her local church and spending time with friends and family, especially her best friend. My name is Coletta Dykes currently based out of Long Beach, CA originally from Toledo, OH. Moving to California is one of my most proudest moments thus far because I believe in me and my abilities to become the Best. You grow and learn everyday and I look forward to my progress. They say without the rain you wouldn’t appreciate the sunshine. I believe it, because everything cannot always be great. Sometimes you will have obstacles to overcome. Saying that to say, my business is Colettastyles and I am also a Zumba instructor. Both independent and re-gaining clientele. The hardest part is betting on yourself to make ends meet. Marketing, socializing and building relationships can be stressful and takes a toll on your body. That’s why I do yoga when I can lol. When clients aren’t booking and bills are due it almost makes you want to throw the towel in and Work for somebody else, (that’s the easy way out). As a Licensed Natural Hairstylist and Licensed Zumba instructor I absolutely love it and blessed that I am able to accomplish my dreams and pursue my passion. What I love about both is that they are fun. Making a woman love her hair, not only love it but enjoy taking time for herself to make Her feel good. We lose sight of making ourselves happy because of work, kids, bills, laundry, cleaning, cooking, errands the list can go on. But if you can take a few hours out if your day to get your hair done and it’s done for a few weeks it makes life that much easier not worrying about your hair. Same for Zumba it is cardio dance workout and you only need 1 hour out of your busy day to make your body happy. One hour a day will keep the doctor away. I have always had fine, thin hair. After starting treatment for chronic migraines, I began to lose more of my hair. So that prompted me to start looking for solutions.
I tried tape-in extensions, weft extensions, halo style extensions, volumizing spray, etc. But none of these items addressed my problem: thinning hair on the top of my head. So the extensions ended up looking very un-natural. Then I discovered toppers! Toppers clip to the top of your head and thus conceal hair loss on the top of your head while blending seamlessly with your biological hair. I ordered a few from different companies but was not satisfied with the quality or fit, so I started sourcing them on my own. That is how Wanderlust Dream Hair came to be. When I was 13 my mom passed away from brain cancer. I remember when she lost her hair from chemotherapy and brought home her first wig from the wig bank. She hated it. Because it was donated and not made for her, it was hot and it never fit comfortably. She was embarrassed to leave the house somedays. I really wish we would have known about toppers back then. I think she would have loved them, especially when her hair started to grow back, a topper would have filled in the thin spots without being so hot and uncomfortable. My mom is a big part of why I started Wanderlust Dream Hair. In my search for solutions, I found an amazing community of women who are also dealing with hair loss on Instagram. They were so supportive and encouraging. It was helpful to know that I was not the only one dealing with hair loss. I love helping women feel beautiful again. Many of my clients have sent me notes telling me how they have more confidence when they wear their toppers and they feel like they have the hair they’ve always wanted. Happy Early Valentines Day-my beauties! Yes, in the month that Love is the primary focus, I wanted to introduce you to a pure, unwavering and unconditional love that is eternally present: the Love of Christ. Yea, it may seem cliché to speak of this active emotion that is either too often overly uttered out of turn, overlooked or underused. But, it is through Him, love is readily accessible, freely given, appropriately applied and bountiful! Oh, to be loved...it is such a wonderful thing! In spite of how messed up you feel that you are, that bad thing you actually did (and He knows that you did) still does not negate the fact that He loves you the same! He will never give up on you, stop helping you, leave you alone....He will never...ever...ever...stop loving you! Yep. His love for you will never cease. Now, if that doesn’t create and place a smile on your face nor send electric shocks throughout your being...truly...I don’t know what else can. Knowing that there is a constant, genuine and priceless love awaiting you, that will always be yours in spite of... well, I don’t know what will get you going! My loves, I am not intending to write you something long because God is exact and straight to the point. The same God that knew of everything He wanted, He quickly spoke it and it was! That same straight forward God, is the same God that quickly made His mind up that He loves you. Always. Forever. And. He’s. Not. Budging. Either. Now, that is a long time-which He already knew. But, yet, He didn’t change His mind! And to show how much He loved you (and that He’s in for the long haul) He gave His only son for ransom of our sins to be saved! Knowing. Knowing. We. Will. Always. Mess. Up. Not always getting it right. Now, if that isn’t love, I don’t know what is! Remember that time, back in primary school, when the class assignment was to do something artistic for your parents? There was that feeling of anticipation and sheer joy as you couldn’t wait to see what your parents would say about your master piece. Maybe, just maybe, they will be so proud that they will consider putting it up on the refrigerator door for everyone to see. You created something with your own hands. Something you loved and were elated to show off to others. Why, because it was yours and done by no one other than you. It costed time and effort and in the end you were able to accomplish something beautiful. Have you ever wondered if God feels the same way about us as His own creation? The time He spent in creating us was purely out of love. Since God is Love then that gives us an understanding that He loved us so dearly that He made us as a part of Himself. In order to keep us close to His heart, Jesus was the cost, so that we can be forever in relationship with the Creator. He is never too far. He walks alongside us during every situation we face. Despite the many times we feel like we fall short of His saving grace, the Father simply showers us in this profound love that encompasses all of our shortcomings. We are God’s work of art and we are deeply loved because of it.

A Love Story By Karissa Hagemeister-Irani As we enter the month of love, I want to share with you a love story like no other. This story is not about the “average” love that is shared between friends and neighbors. This is not the passionate love that is shared between two lovers. No, this love story is about an everlasting love. A no strings attached love. A love that surpasses death and awakens new life. This love cannot be found from another human. This love is a love that is intense. It is whole. It is complete. It is all for you. In fact, this love story places YOU as the main character, the center of all the attention, the recipient of this love. Who, you may ask, would want to give you this everlasting, incomparable love? ““I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness,” (Jeremiah 31:3 NIV). The answer is, your Creator. God. The maker of Heaven and Earth. He is the one who loves you so intensely. No one will ever be able to love you like he does. You may be asking, what is the catch? There is no catch. He loves all of his creation, much like a parent would love their own child or a husband would love his wife. But the love of God is much, much greater. However, we will not be able to receive the full benefits until we understand this love and we accept it. 1 John 4:9-10 (NIV) shares that, “God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” “But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)” Ephesians 2:4-5 NLT.

These verses show us how great God’s love is for us. Noting that this love has nothing to do with what we could do, and everything to do with how much God loved us just for being his creation. All he wants is to be loved in return. We are born into this world doing things that are hurtful to ourselves, to each other and to God. These are simply known as sins. We can do nothing on our own accord to rid ourselves from our sins. But our sins are the things that will keep us out of Heaven and away from our loving Creator for all eternity. Where God is, sin cannot be. God loved us so much that he made ONE and only one way for us to come and live with him when we die. He sent his Son to earth as a human. His son is Jesus. Jesus never sinned while here on Earth. He is the only one who never has from all the humans that have walked this earth. Because he was pure, he was offered as a sacrifice for all of our sins. He died a very brutal death just so we could be joined with his father in Heaven. When we love him back for his greatness, for his sacrifice, for his son Jesus, for his love and for his mercy, we can expect him to work on our behalf and move Heaven and Hell to care for us. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them,” (NLT). When God is working on our behalf, everything that is working contrary to that better run and hide. “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:31-32 NIV). And most importantly, nothing can stand in the way of the love that God has for you. Romans 8: 35, 38-39 says, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?... For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord,” (NIV). No matter where you are this season of love, know that you are LOVED. Dive deeper into this love. Discover it for yourself and find it to be real. More real than anything else you have experienced this side of Heaven. You are Loved! 31

Date Night On Board By Karissa & Arman If you have ever had the opportunity to go on a cruise, you know that there is more food than there is time to eat it all. For food lovers it is heaven! On a Disney Cruise it is no different. The food, however, is a few notches up from many of the other cruise lines (at least that is what we have been told and experienced). Having seven days on a cruise ship, it is really hard to pick one favorite dish. Every day there was something different to eat. We were always very pleased with the food, the food quality and the staff that served us. We were also pleasantly surprised at how accommodating Disney cruises are for food allergies. Karissa has allergies to gluten and thought she would be stuck eating veggies the whole trip. However, there was so much to choose from on their gluten free menus and things that were on the regular menus could be changed into a gluten free meal with a little tweaking. The staff took great care of us and took our gluten free food requests the day before so that our meal would be ready when we came to eat. I think we both agree that some of our favorite things to eat on board were the GF chicken tenders, and the cheese board. Almost after every excursion, we would order some of those and take them back to the room to eat before the show and our supper. One of the hardest things when it came to eating on board was pacing yourself for your next meal. Because there was food all around and you could order room service for free any time you want, we would often fill up and then realize we only had an hour until supper. Our suggestion is to step outside of your comfort zone and try things you have never had before. Worst case scenario, you do not like but you can always order something else (with no extra charge) instead. Cruises give you a chance to explore (not just other countries) but other kinds of foods as well. Happy Sailing!

B&D Honeymooners: Grotto Caves of Jamaica by the Irani’s Ayee what a great trip we had in Jamaica, yah mon!! We got to explore the caves and being tall people those helmets that they give you really did come in handy. Arman hit his head a few times in there. I tell you what though, it gets very hot in there, especially with those helmets on. Not to mention helmet hair afterwards, lol. They say these caves were used by fugitives to hide and run away back in the day. They were also used to store rum in the caves too.... Captain Jack Sparrow, I’ve found where your rum went. Anyway, it was a fun activity to get away from the sun for a little bit and wasn’t anything crazy. We definitely recommend this excursion if you want something more chill! On a side note, when you go on a seven day cruise, you do not want to be doing something strenuous every single time the boat docks. You will end up being more tired when you get home than when you left. This is a nice, more relaxed activity that you can choose. All we really did was walk through caves. It was pretty dark inside of them. We did see some bats but they were all sleeping. It was really hard to get good pictures and you are not supposed to take video when you are in there. It was about an hour and a half to two hours of walking. You will want water for sure to drink on this one. There were also some steep stairs that we had to climb up and back down so it was a little bit more than just a walk in the park type of hike. Overall, it was a neat experience and we do recommend it if you are ever porting in Falmouth, Jamaica.

Massaman Curry Ingredients: 1 block of Extra Firm Tofu 2 Tbsp of oil or water 1 small onion 1 tsp of cumin powder 1 tsp coriander 5 Tbsp red curry paste 1 ½ cups baby potatoes cut into fours 1 cup of carrots, diced into small pieces 1 can of coconut milk 1-1 ½ cups water 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon 1 dash each cardamom and nutmeg 2-3 Tbsp gluten free soy sauce 1-2 Tbsp coconut sugar 2 Tbsp peanut butter 1-2 Tbsp lemon FOR SERVING (optional) Rice Avocado slices Lime wedges Fresh cilantro Thai Basil 48
Instructions: 1. You have the option to stick with just vegetables, or add some extra protein. We added tofu. Press and cube the extra-firm tofu and set it aside to add it to the curry in the last 10 minutes of cooking. 2. Heat a large pot over medium heat. Once hot, add oil (or water) and chopped onion. SautĂŠ, stirring frequently. Once it starts to brown move onto step three. 3. Add cumin and coriander. Then add the red curry paste and stir to combine. Cook for about 1 minute. 4. Add potatoes and carrots. Then add coconut milk, water, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, soy sauce,coconut sugar, and peanut butter. 5. The liquid should be covering all of the ingredients in the pot. You can add extra coconut milk or water if it does not. Cook covered over medium heat. 6. Once it has begun to boil slightly, add in the tofu and cook for about 10 more minutes. 7. Add lemon, cilantro and avocado before serving. Taste before eating to see if you need a little extra flavor of any one thing. 8. Stir and cook for about 2 more minutes. Then turn off heat and let stand for at least 5 minutes before serving (this allows the flavors to mix in). 9. To serve, divide between bowls and enjoy as is or with a side of rice. We like it with some jasmine rice. 49

SPICY CHEDDAR & SPINACH DIP INGREDIENTS 8 oz of cream cheese, softened 8 oz block pepper jack cheese, shredded 1 ½ cups of fresh leaf spinach, chopped 1/2 small onion, chopped 2 jalapeùos, sliced 1 small tomato, chopped Tortilla chips DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat your oven to 350 F. 2. Mix together the cheeses, spinach, onion and jalapeno until combined thoroughly. 3. Bake in an oven safe pan for 25 minutes, or until melted and golden brown on top. Top with some chopped tomatoes and sliced jalapeno rounds. 4. Serve with tortilla chips. 5. Enjoy the superbowl. 52

What Is It Like to be Loved? By Arman Irani What’s love got to do with it? Maybe some of you have heard this song before I know I’ve heard that theme before in hip hop music, pop music and even rock songs. I never really questioned it then and I thought love was just an emotion that we “feel” through our sensory human body and emotional states. As God has worked on my heart over the years I’ve learned that Love means much more than just an emotion and a catchy tune in a song/movie. I personally know that God loves me enough to not leave my soul snared in the fowlers net or tied to the grasp of the enemy. I know that God was able to come up after me even though I was that one lost sheep in the herd of 99 that followed his commands and ways. I know that life as a whole is much bigger than anything our human minds and wisdom can fathom, and that people who think “they know it all” really have no freaking clue at all and just keep searching the wormhole for more information, which gets them more lost than they were when they began. I’m aware that sacrifice and submission to something greater than yourself is not weakness like I once thought; but rather true strength to be able to get out of your own egos way and let God direct you on your narrow path that he wishes for you to walk. I know that The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness,” (Jeremiah 31:3 NIV). What an amazing creator who loves us so much that even from the beginning of time with Adam and Eve he just wished for us to have a relationship with him. It’s out of love that he whispers to our soul to hear him in the stillness of the day. We were not meant to do things on our own it’s out of Love God gave Adam his wife Eve and not Steve.

He loves us enough to send his only son to earth to pay the ultimate price for our sins “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life,” (John 3:16 NLT). I don’t know any other God or religion that offers their own child as the sacrifice for everyone else and allows for his son to be resurrected in the flesh to walk the earth after his humanly death. That’s the best heroic story I’ve ever heard out of all the comic book stories and video games I’ve played. I honestly could go on and on about how we are Loved by God and not hated… it’s the enemy that wants you to feel that you are not loved. It’s been his plan all along since he was flicked out of Heaven to rule the air of the earth. This is why God says to renew your mind daily and to stay sober minded, since you may end up going down a path you weren’t meant too. Trust me that can end up costing you more than finances, stress and a plethora of human problems. It can also cause your soul to get all wrecked and attached to the point where taking your own life may be the only option you feel is viable. I could go on forever about God’s love for all of us his creation human beings, but I will leave you with this… If you have breath in your lungs and are able to give him praise bro you have a lot to be thankful for. Kickboxing as an excellent workout that engages your entire body, if you do it correctly. If you have never taken kickboxing before, we recommend that you sign up for a class at your L.A. Fitness to learn the ropes. This is a great workout to do as a couple.
Before you start punching and kicking the boxing bag, make sure to have the right kind of gloves on and closetoed shoes on. L.A. Fitness normally has gloves that you can borrow but you can also go to any sports store and get your own.
We chose L.A. Fitness as our workout home because we want the best possible equipment and environment to workout in. We definitely recommend L.A. Fitness to anyone who is serious about their workouts, getting in shape and losing weight. 61

Tobias Armand
Tobias Armand is a SAG-E American actor, voice-over artist, stunt performer, model and sketch artist with additional experience in production management and cast directing. He’s appeared in several films, television productions, web series and stage plays. He’s best known for his role in Marvel and Disney’s multibillion Black Panther (2018) and War Angel: The Awakening (2018). One of his most recent roles landed on Bounce’s prime time television series Saints & Sinners and TV One’s For My Man. Tobias was born in one of the boroughs of New York City. He later attended Howard University in Washington, D.C. with a degree in Pre-medicine/Psychology before pursuing his career in acting.He developed a passion for acting and later moved to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue his goals. He is a rising star with an insatiable appetite for success. Everyone send a Huge Happy Birthday to Tobias because this is his birthday month.

“My beard grows quite quickly but a big part of it’s healthy appearance requires regular maintenance. I wash and condition it regularly and from my experience, regular stimulation encourages continued growth. I used beard oil and beard butter in addition to my regular regiment. I like to keep it full, well trimmed and with a healthy shine. I maintain it on my own with my clippers daily... It’s a personal choice. I know some prefer the weathered look at times, but as an actor/ model, I like to look my best.” “As a beard ambassador, I often need to keep it full...which is my favorite look. However, being in the entertainment industry, versatility is also integral for your success. At times I will cut it down to a shadow beard or even a goatee for a added different look. Full is my favorite and something as small as a design under the bottom lip can change the appearance -- as you can see in most my photos. However, if I want it to look fuller, I allow this area to grow in fully and I will line up under my chin area futher down my neckline. This makes it seem twice as full.” 64
