Artistic Patrons

Luke Wright Poet Ben Blyth Centre Manager James Mayhew Illustrator & Artist Niamh Smyth FOH & Events Facebook Sonya Remblance The Fisher Theatre Bar Instagram Martha Coleman fishertheatrebungay Marketing and Community Twitter Outreach @FisherTheatre 2022 has certainly started as a year of change for the Fisher Theatre. In our Spring programme we welcomed Ben as Centre Manger and we also said goodbye to Dan who had been assisting Cory with the operation and technical side of the Fisher. In this programme we say goodbye to Cory after fourteen years. Cory was deeply rooted into every aspect of the Fisher and we will miss his calm efficiency, expert organisational skills and technical ability. The trustees, staff, volunteers and audience all wish him well as he takes up his position at Southwold Pier – working, not relaxing in a deckchair! This means that we welcome several new faces to the Fisher. Niamh who will be in charge of FOH and events. Sonya whose main responsibility will be the bar, and Martha who will be responsible for marketing and community outreach. We wish them well as they get to grips with their roles at the Fisher. Our programme for the Summer continues to build on the success of the Spring programme which introduced several new acts alongside the existing favourites of our offerings. With the relaxation of the Covid restrictions it has been lovely to welcome our audience back and see the auditorium filling up again. Thank you all for your continued support of the Fisher and we hope you find our Summer programme enticing. For the latest information please follow us on social media and visit our website where you can book tickets 24/7.

These views have inspired her to a new way of working, one involving fabric and plant-based glue in a rapid collage technique. Ralph Fiennes (Antony & Cleopatra) leads the cast in David Hare’s (Skylight) blazing account of the most powerful man in New York, a master manipulator whose legacy changed the city forever. For forty uninterrupted years, Robert Moses exploited those in office through a mix of charm and intimidation. Motivated at first by a determination to improve the lives of New York City’s workers, he created parks, bridges and 627 miles of expressway to connect the people to the great outdoors Faced with resistance by protest groups campaigning for a very different idea of what the city should become, will the weakness of democracy be exposed in the face of his charismatic conviction?

Join us on the Castle Bailey for a fantastic evening celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. This extravaganza performance will feature a wide range of local artists tracing a cultural journey over the sixty years of Elizabeth II’s reign. Bungay Film Club presents

Kenneth Branagh’s film about a young boy growing up in Northern Ireland at the beginning of the Troubles needs little introduction. Describing it as his ‘most personal film’, the director has used his own experience of living through that tumultuous and confusing time, to paint an affectionate picture of a vibrant, now vanished, community. Shot in black and white and anchored by terrific performances, “Belfast” is suffused with nostalgia, warmth and humour, and not to be missed. Theatre, National Tour, Critically Acclaimed
