We were looking forward to unveiling a new playing venue this year. Unfortunately it will not be completed in time for this year tournaments. Fortunately we will have access to the FIFA Tsunami complex again, the venue for our past two tournaments.

We are also pleased to announce that this year’s tournament will support a local charity in Women’s Will Power Phuket Charity Group. WWP is a group of professional women who live and work in Phuket. Their aim is to raise funds for helping the victims of abuse to help them take hold of their lives and help them to improve their future. Their money is raised though the sale of charity calendars at the venue for 299 Baht. Please dig deep and help this group continue the fantastic work they are doing in Phuket. This years’ tournament is tinged with sadness due to the tragic loss of a good friend to many of us and a great supporter of 7s tournament in Asia, Ian “Iggy” Gray. Ian who was synonymous with the successful Team Bondi Masters squad, tragically passed away earlier this year. To recognise the contribution of Iggy we will hold a minute silence prior to Team Bondi’s first game and the O’40s Phuket 7s Cup will be named the “Ian Gray Cup”.
