Here’s an important tip for start-ups: during the renovation and decoration of your salon, get a head start by placing an attention-grabbing COMING SOON visual in the window. Doing this meant that our appointments book was almost 80% full during the first two months after opening and attracted lots of new clients!

Be consistent with communications and images related to your salon. We use the same campaign image for the shop window, the flyers, the advertisements page in the local magazine and on Facebook. This makes us recognisable and allows us to attract new clients to our salon, and makes our marketing campaigns effective.
I am passionate about nails and the brand I work with, and this passion makes my clients enthusiastic as well! The nail creation that I wear myself always sells like hot cakes. I also change my look regularly to continue to inspire my clients.

Work with at least 2 stylists in your salon to maximise profitability, distribute work and avoid having to disappoint clients. You will never be able to achieve the profitability that you would expect for so much work if you are working on your own. Furthermore, the right collegue will often bring new clients too. In Belgium, it is definitely best to work on a self-employed basis.

Before each launch of a new product or collection, I organise a special evening to introduce the range. I also give an extra discount on the treatment to allow clients to get to know the products, which makes it easier to sell them. For example, before the new Hand Care line was launched, I gave an introductionary discount for the anti-age manicure service and ended up selling my entire retail stock within 10 days!

I am also very active in the committee of local traders in Ozoir and appear in their regional magazine every year. By building a good relationship with other business owners, I have gained lots of great new clients. Together we are stronger!

Occasionally, we give loyal clients an extra treat or gift. Although this does not cost us much effort or investment, it means a lot to our clients and we receive an enormous amount of appreciation and loyalty in return.

We created an innovative total concept for our salon that combines the premium brand ProNails with affordable prices, a children’s space with a baby-sitting service and a wide selection of food and drinks in the coffee corner. This makes our beauty salon a great place for the whole family to enjoy and unique in our region!
Our salon mainly caters to women who like a natural look and don’t have time for gel nails. Sopolish Protect & Peel is the best solution for them! We organise a monthly Sopolish Protect & Peel event via Facebook, with discount prices for new clients who would like to try the treatment for the first time. This always generates an incredible response and nearly all of these clients come back. Sopolish really helps us to attract new clients and increase our turnover.

Use one brush-dip per nail. 3. The skin will automatically lift at the edges. Use the long bended tweezer to lift the Vital Nail skin and, if required add additional peel aid underneath. 4. Apply to the cuticles and wait for 30 seconds. Gently push back the cuticles and remove excess skin. Wash hands after each use.

The rise of Sopolish services, and semi-permanent nail polishes in general, has had an enormous impact on the nail industry. This trend is definitely here to stay, and it owes its success to the fact that it offers salon customers a very fast service with a very natural looking yet long lasting result. 1. Apply 1 layer of Gellak in a colour of your choice. (curing time 30 sec. ‘The Light’ or 2 min. UV) 2. Apply the effect glitter powder to the cured Gellak with a ‘Gelinsky Stampart Brush’ or a ‘Diamond Silicon Tool’ in swirling motions. (Use the powder sparingly and keep each finger over the jar while applying.) The more you swirl and rub, the more beautiful the effect. 3. WATCH OUT! To obtain an extra smooth result, it’s best to apply a layer of Crystal Seal (curing time 60 sec. ‘The Light’ or 2 min. UV) on top of the cured Gellak colour (after step 1). This will ensure a better adhesion of the glitter powder and a great mirror effect, allowing the underlying colour to shine through more. This is especially important when working with UV-lamps, since their capacity reduces with use. The effect glitter powders are pigments which only attach to gels without sticky layer like Gellak or Crystal Seal. On a gel that needs the tacky layer to be removed first, the powders won’t stick. WATCH OUT: If you use Crystal Seal on a sticky layer and put the brush back into the product afterwards, you’ll “contaminate” the gloss. This will eventually cause the gloss to be useless for glitter powders: they won’t stick anymore. So don’t forget to remove the sticky layer before using Crystal Seal!

EXCEPTION! Mermaid effect is the only glitter powder that does need a tacky layer for a perfect adhesion. Apply a layer of Unicum UV Gel Clear to your cured Gellak colour, cure and apply the Mermaid Effect powder immediately onto the sticky layer for the perfect result. It’s best to use a Graffiti Brush Medium instead of a Stampart Brush for application.
