Transportation Improvement Projects

THROUGH EARLY 2024

State Hwy. 257 & Eastman Park Spring 2023 - Early 2024

Windsor is working with the Colorado Dept. of Transportation (CDOT), Great Western Railroad, and utility companies such as Xcel and Comcast, to widen the east side of the intersection. This will improve traffic capacity, turning movements for large semi-truck traffic, and pedestrian safety. Improvements include signage and restriping, mill and overlay, expanding the intersection in the northeast/southeast/ southwest quadrants, reconstruction of concrete medians, curb and gutter improvements, railroad gate modifications, traffic signal equipment upgrades, and improved bike lanes and sidewalks. CDOT is also working to repair several lengths along State Hwy. 257.

Railroad Crossing Improvements

Late 2023 - Early 2024

CDOT awarded grant money to improve the railroad crossing at Weld County Rd. 17 & Weld County. Rd. 60. The grant covers the asphalt approach, concrete at the crossing, guardrails, entrance gates, crossbucks, flashers and rail improvements. Windsor will add gates, medians, signage and pavement markings. During this project, residents near the intersection can expect to hear train horns.

Public Infrastructure - Windsor North Campus

Anticipated Weld County Rd. 15 and Weld County Rd. 70 improvements include road widening, drainage and utility improvements to support Windsor’s future Police Station and Windsor Middle School sites. The project is located north of the town's existing Public Services Campus.

Street Maintenance - Asphalt Overlays

Summer 2023

This aspect of the Annual Street Maintenance Program focuses on milling and overlaying existing public streets throughout town.

Street Maintenance - Asphalt Sealcoating & Crack Sealing, Concrete Replacement Year-long

This aspect of the Annual Street Maintenance Program focuses on asphalt sealcoating, asphalt crack sealing and miscellaneous concrete replacements in public rights-of-way throughout Windsor.

Traffic Signal Installation

Late 2023 - Early 2024

Install traffic signal and curb ramp improvements at the intersection of Hollister Lake Rd. and Sundance Dr.
