WINDSOR MATTERS

Road Work Ahead

State Hwy. 257 & Eastman Park Dr. Intersection and Roadway Improvements Major Intersection Project Begins Mid-May

The Town of Windsor is starting a significant roadwork project along State Hwy. 257 and Eastman Park Dr. that is anticipated to have major traffic impacts. Work starts mid-May and will be completed in early 2024.

The State Hwy. 257 and Eastman Park Dr. project is intended to widen the intersection significantly to improve safety and functionality. The town is coordinating this project with the Colorado Department of Transportation, and several other entities. During the intersection project, road patterns will undergo significant changes and throughout the duration of this project commuters are encouraged to consider alternative routes to avoid State Hwy. 257 from Walnut St. to Crossroads Blvd. and to avoid Eastman Park Dr. from Water Valley Pkwy./Cornerstone Dr. to State Hwy. 257.

On top of major traffic impacts, there will be times in which residents will have temporary business access detours. However, the majority of this project will take place during the summer months while school is not in session to lessen impacts to traffic. Due to the nature of this project, there can be many factors that are yet to be predicted and out of the town’s control – such as supply chain issues, availability of entities such as the utility companies and the railroad, weather and contractor delays.

During the town’s intersection work, CDOT will also be working on another State Hwy. 257 project, resurfacing
