It is smooth and gentle and titillates the tongue whilst casting a warm glow over the entire body. Everyone who tastes this magical brew for the first time remarks on its sumptuous flavour and extraordinary ability to transform the spirit. Our native dishes reflect the islands’ rich history and use of healthy local products. For centuries, the population has consumed a mix of cornmeal cooked with okra, a serving of lightly salted codfish, and strips of cacti delicately prepared in olive oil and with a splash of lemon.
