It behoves all people to heed the warnings so that they will be “worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:36). Unless Christ intervenes in the affairs of humanity, the world would end “with a curse” or utter destruction (Malachi 4:6; see also Matthew 24:22). The whole process that eventually leads to the lake of fire (Malachi 4:1) begins with the people not responding to the love of God (1:2-3). Mission Arlington BRIDGE STUDENTS

Each year, Bridge Students takes a trip to Arlington, Texas for their annual missions trip. For the past three decades, Mission Arlington has been dedicated to serving their community any way they can and our students get to be a part of that. The week is spent at various apartment complexes in the Arlington area as the students play, minister through a week long VBS and get the opportunity to spend time with the kids living there. In 2019, a record number of Bridge Students attended with nearly 100 students and adults involved in the mission trip. Below, are some of their thoughts and experiences on the trip and why the week is so influential to them. Rylie Donelly: “I’ve gone to Arlington for six years now. I keep going back because every year I fall in love with the kids and I realize that it’s what I want to do when I get older - to go on the mission field and teach kids. I like getting to see where the kids come from and the joy they have on their faces, even when they don’t have anything in their homes.” Caden Prater: “I love going to Arlington and seeing the kids, how they experience their daily lives and how much it differs from the privilege I have in my life. It makes me realize how little I appreciate my life at times and how much I need to. Being able to be with these these kids for a couple days and teach them is one of the greatest parts of my year.” Taryn McNully: “One kid that stood out to be the most was a little girl named Sunday. She had purple and black hair, smiled at everyone she saw, and was a little shy. Because she was shy she did talk a lot, all she wanted me to do was hold her the whole time we were there. That really stood out to me because she didn’t want to play games, or play with the other kids. She simply just wanted to be held.” Wriley Webster, pastor: “It says in Ephesians 4:12 that the job of the pastor is to equip the saints for work in the ministry. I feel like going to Arlington is the most pure form of my job because I’ve equipped these students to do ministry for themselves and I’m not doing it for them.”
