Bridge Builders 2023

We feel strongly that we have a responsibility to support those who have committed to going to the ends of the earth to share the love of Jesus.

BRIDGE BUILDERS 2023

For as long as Sherri and I have served on staff here at The Bridge, we have consistently made it a priority to not just be a church that gives to missions, but to be a church that makes missions a way of life. Throughout the years, men, women, teenagers, and even kids from our church have found ways to get excited about supporting world missions! From supporting missionaries on a monthly basis to literally sending individuals from our church family to be the hands and feet of Jesus all across the globe, our church has a rich history in supporting many missionaries and organizations all across the world.

As we move forward into 2023 and beyond this one thing will remain, as a church that value’s generosity, we will continue to prioritize missions. We feel strongly that we have a responsibility to support those who have committed to going to the ends of the earth to share the love of Jesus. We also have been given the opportunity to go, and at times serve alongside them. Simply, scripture reminds us that the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Today we find ourselves with an amazing opportunity to join with and even become laborers to reach those throughout the world with the love of Jesus.

As a part of this commitment, we will begin Bridge Builders in 2023. This booklet will help to explain what Bridge Builders is all about and help each of you understand a little better the missionaries and mission’s organizations that we support globally and locally on a consistent basis. It will also give a little vision to future projects that we would like to support and help make possible in the coming year.

I am proud of our church, and the ongoing commitment that each of you has made in supporting our missionary friends all over the world. Thank you! It’s going to be an amazing year!

WHAT IS BRIDGE BUILDERS?

Bridge Builders is best defined as the mission’s arm of our church. As a church that values Generosity we understand that everything that we do is about others. No matter if they are right in our own backyard, or across an ocean. We believe that we have responsibility to do and give all that we can, ensuring that a bridge is formed to connect all people to Jesus.

At the Bridge, every individual missionary, mission’s program (Speed the Light, Light for the Lost, BGMC, etc.) and mission’s organization that we support is housed under the umbrella of Bridge Builders. We see each of these mission’s outlets as significant opportunities where connections can be created between the lost in our world and the love of Jesus.

Through this ministry our church will not only be able to support incredible missionaries and invest in dynamic organizations that are reaching the lost, but will also get the opportunity to receive training and first hand opportunities to participate in short term mission opportunities, construction trips, and many local outreaches.

Everything that we do for missions today is about building a Bridge. As a church we hope that we can rally together around this idea and become passionate about reaching the lost in our world and connecting them to their savior, Jesus.

Come, be part of what God is doing throughout our world, and help us build bridges.

HOW IT WORKS

Globally

Through this program, we are able to support many missionaries, various projects throughout the world, provide humanitarian aid to those in need, plant churches, and even participate in pastoral development all around the world.

Locally Mission’s work doesn’t just have to be overseas or in another country! It can be right here in the Unit ed States too. Bridge Builders will assist in helping plant churches, support campus ministry, strength en our communities, and support those organizations bringing hope to the hurting in our own back yard.

Future Projects Bridge Builders will also bring into focus and highlight future goals and projects that we would like to see our church family actively participate in through financial support as well as active participation.

In August of 2022 we took a missions trip to Puebla, Mexico to serve with Friends of Faith in the mountains of Oaxaca. While there, we ministered to 7 different villages.

FUTURE PROJECTS

In 2023 we get the opportunity to stand alongside these Missionaries and Organizations, helping them reach further than ever before. We support many of these monthly, however, in the upcoming year as part of this Bridge Builders program, we would like to team up with them even more and help them to advance their cause for Christ. We are excited about each of these opportunities and are glad you are here to make it possible.

Advocates for Africa

Everyone needs an advocate. We all could use someone who is willing to go the distance to plead on our behalf. This is the goal of this organization, to bring awareness, and help to the needs of Africa. Existing to bring hope, compassion and education to a nation. Advocates is focused on bringing hope through large gospel crusades, providing compassion to the widows, orphans, and displaced people throughout Africa, and then educating with a focus on leadership and ethics. This is a great organization and one worthy of partnering with in the coming year.

Evany Clinic

As Christians it is understood that we value every life that God gives. At times, we need to do more than simply say we believe that. Sometimes, we have to act. This year we will be supporting the Evany Clinic strongly because we believe in the ministry they are doing within our community. By providing a place of refuge and hope for those in our community facing unplanned pregnancy and by serving many women through the provision of medical grade pregnancy testing, ultrasound confirmation, counseling, individual education, medical support, diapers, and even wipes free of cost to those in need, the Evany Clinic is making a difference and we are happy to stand by them.

FireBible

This is an organization that is no stranger to us as a church. We wholeheartedly believe in what they are doing to provide a quality Study Bible for people of all languages across the world. Additionally, the study notes provided through the FireBible are from a pentecostal perspective, offering an individual deeper understanding of the scripture and of the Holy Spirit. Currently available in 63 languages, we are committing to helping FireBible continue their mission of developing and translating the Bible and study notes into as many languages as possible.

Friends of Faith

We have had a long standing relationship with Friends of Faith in Puebla, Mexico. Over 20 years ago we began taking short term mission trips to Puebla and helped them establish a ministry foundation that today is thriving and seeing life change every day. This year, even beyond our monthly support, we would like to join with them in helping expand their ministry reach. The team of leaders and pastors at Friends of Faith have big dreams for seeing God move in their lives not only in Puebla, but the state of Oaxaca and all across the country of Mexico. We are happy to join them in making this dream a reality.

From the remote villages in Aftrica to our neighbors right here in Oklahoma, we believe our giving in 2023 is going to have a lasting impact for the Kingdom of Heaven.

Oklahoma Rural Churches

This year we will join a new initiative within the Oklahoma District to train, empower, resource and encourage our state’s many rural Assembly of God Churches and pastors. There are many pastors and churches in our state that do incredible ministry on shoestring budgets and other limitations. We are excited to be supporting them as they continue to grow and impact their towns for Christ.

OKAG Church Planting

Each year the Oklahoma District of the Assemblies of God chooses new locations to launch new churches in order to reach the communities of our state. In 2023 we will continue to partner with the district and support these new church plants and the pastors that are leading them. We will help them to establish strong foundations in the towns and cities that they plant their roots in, all with the hope that lives will be reached and hearts changed.

Dream Center OKC

This organization exists to reach, rescue, and restore people in need to achieve their dreams. They do this by investing in at-risk kids and addressing poverty and its causes. Additionaly, they inject life back into broken communities by meeting basic needs and serving clients through relationships and referrals. We have an opportunity in 2023 to deepen our relationship with the Dream Center OKC and support them more than ever before, after all this is our own backyard.

Teen Challenge

We are excited to partner even more with missionary Norm Edwards and his work with Teen Challenge in the Maldives, a group of islands south of India. These islands have historically been a Muslim country, closed to the Gospel. However, due to challenges in their country with drug and alcohol abuse, a door was opened for Teen Challenge to help. We will support them as they guide teens past addiction and train them for the future by providing life skills for successful living.

Recovery Ranch

Located in Poteau, Oklahoma and led by Kane Riggs, this recovery center has had great success helping men who have found themselves bound by addictions and looking for a better way of life. We believe in what they are doing, and will support their efforts this year as they continue to guide and lead men into healthier lifestyles while providing them with biblical discipleship and practical business skills that can be used to help them get back on their feet.

Overseas Evangelist Ministries

There are several overseas evangelist that we will support this year, helping with their transportation and ministry expenses as they minister and assist the international churches across the world.
