Grief Recovery Certification Training for the funeral industry

Page 1

Never again wonder what more you could have done for someone who has experienced significant emotional loss.

What is The Grief Recovery Method? The Action programme that allows you to help others move beyond significant emotional loss As a professional in the funeral industry you appreciate just how important saying and doing the right thing by your families is. The funeral or memorial is a crucial step in the path to recovery and done correctly can make a huge positive impact on their path to recovery. Sadly it is only one step and from there most grievers are expected to work out how to take the next steps on their own. Society does very little to prepare us for loss and few of realise how badly prepared we are until we have to face it. The Grief Recovery Method isn't counselling nor is it therapy. Grievers are not broken and do not need to be fixed. They do need to be guided towards the correct actions that will move them beyond the loss rather than bury their feelings and "learn to live with it."

As a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist you will be able to teach anyone the correct steps - either on a one-one basis or in a group setting. Additionally we will give you the tools to deliver a programme called "Helping Children Deal with Loss" a group based programme for adults who have or who are responsible for children.

What is Grief Recovery Certification? Certification is for anyone who would like to help others recover from grief. It is much more than a training course, it is a complete package designed to help you succeed in bringing the Grief Recovery Method to as many people as possible. Here is what is included: A 4 day intensive, classroom based, training experience. This is made up of practical sessions as well as theory working in a small group where we take you through the process and breakdown each section and show you how to teach it. A comprehensive manual This has lesson plans for each of the 3 programmes you'll be qualified to teach: One-One The Outreach Group Helping Children Deal with Loss (group based for adults) The manual also contains reference material & articles for useful further learning Unlimited support for life Once part of the Grief Recovery family we'll look after you with phone and email support as often as you need it- for no extra charge ever. We can't teach you everything in 4 days and there almost certainly will be situations where you aren't sure of the best way forward. Whether 2 days or 20 years after your training you will get a prompt answer from us.

call 01234 862218 It has completely transformed the way I interact with people from the minute they walk through the door. This is not just about after care but the entire way we do business. It is the most positive thing I've done and having been through it myself insisted that my entire team be trained too. Funeral Director & Celebrant Lianna Champ of Champ Funeral Services

Next Steps Ask as many questions as you like - we're here to ensure our programme is right for you Grief is a very human emotion which is why we only train face to face and never online or from books. If you would like to work with grievers you will first of all want to know if you'd like to work with us which is why we suggest a telephone consultation to find out more. There is absolutely no heavy sell. This would be pointless as we only want to work with you if you really want to work with us. To book a consultation call or email us to arrange a mutually convenient time and we'll go from there. We regularly run open programmes around the country with an average group size of 12 people. Alternatively if you have at least 6 people we can bring the training to you. If you have a dedicated training it is also possible to customise part of the training to your specific business needs - while the Grief Recovery Method doesn't change getting the best of it in your environment may.
