Jockey‘s Boxenstop

SEXIEST WORKSHOPS: EVERYTHING ABOUT VESPA AND LAMBRETTA.

In beautiful Lower Bavaria, idyllically and quietly located, lovers of Vespa, but especially Lambretta scooters, can meet an expert whose name is known far beyond the borders of the country: Joachim Müller. Better known by his distinctive nickname „Jockey“, which is also the name of the store and workshop: „Jockey‘s Boxenstop“.

A Quarter Century With Vespa And Lambretta

Our visit is just in time for the 25th anniversary. The Lambretta temple has been in existence since 1996, and although Vespas are also serviced here in an extremely professional and expert manner, Jockey has earned its special reputation in the Lambretta sector. This is one reason why a store of this size can exist, even far from urban centers: He does not only rely on customers from the surrounding area, but his clientele comes from all over Germany. Even more, they also come from other European countries.

The business areas are diverse. The trade in used and new scooters is important for the customer base, but only takes up a small share of the business. The repair of scooters is much more in the focus of the daily business. Whether it‘s changing a cable, overhauling an engine, or repairing sheet metal damage, everything is contracted out here.

However, Jockey‘s Boxenstop is best known for two other areas of business: First, these are conversions and restoration of scooters. In other words, projects that go far beyond mere repairs. Scooters are restored and brought into an original or even better condition. Custom scooters are also built according to customer specifications. Special paints are applied, high end accessories or chassis parts are installed, and complete engine tunings are offered.

And the master still does the work himself. Together with his workshop crew, he straightens frames on a specially built bench, adjusts cylinders or installs new wiring harnesses. In other words, a store where the customer still gets what it says: a pit stop from Jockey.

The second important pillar is the development and trade of Lambretta parts. Jockey has a large warehouse where almost everything that could be needed for a Lambretta is available. In winter, they occasionally develop their own parts to fill a gap in the market or supply.

Of course, Jockey parts can also be found in the SIP store, just as SIP Scootershop Lambretta parts are available from Jockey. Employee Markus has stock and sales under control. So does Jockey, a proven Lambretta specialist and two-wheel master. Especially valuable for his current job: he is a former SIP Scootershop employee.

Thanks to its history, the qualifications of Jockey and its employees, the wide range of business areas and craftsmanship, Jockey‘s Boxenstop has naturally long outgrown the status of a simple workshop or even a „wrench shop“. It‘s fun to look around the modernly designed building with its spacious showroom. Ideally with a little shopping at the counter and possibly a „techtalk“ over a coffee. A visit is always worthwhile for Lambretta or Vespa riders. And a very personal address may not be missing at this point: Jockey has been a customer of SIP Scootershop for more than 20 years.

THANK YOU FOR THAT!
