Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki

The Sibelius Academy is the only music university in Finland and one of the biggest in Europe. In addition to providing the highest education in the field of music, it engages in performance and creative art and research and is committed to the fostering and renewing Finland's musical culture and cultural heritage. It also seeks active collaboration with Finnish society and participates in the development of culture. Since 2013 the Sibelius Academy has been a part of the University of the Arts Helsinki. This new university was launched upon the merging of the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, Sibelius Academy, and Theatre Academy Helsinki. The university now comprises the three academies, which are now equal in terms of educational content and cultural significance.
