2023-2025 Strategic Plan

The SAMCAR Board of Directors approved a motion to adopt the 2023-2025 Strategic Plan on December 15, 2022.

Area 1 - Advocacy & Government Affairs

SAMCAR is a credible voice for San Mateo County real estate professionals and effective champion for property owners.

1.1 - Cultivate stakeholder (member, homeowner, housing provider) involvement

1.2 - Articulate policy positions

1.3 - Foster collaborative relationships with local elected officials

1.4 - Increase REALTOR® Action Fund contributions

Area 2 - Consumer Outreach & Community Involvement

SAMCAR and its members are respected leaders who foster thriving San Mateo County Communities.

2023 Committees

Be a leader in your association! Join a SAMCAR committee and take part in the planning of association activities and programs all while networking with your colleagues and gaining valuable leadership experience.

LOCAL CANDIDATE RECOMMENDATIONS (LCRC)*

This committee interviews Federal, State and Local candidates for elected office in San Mateo County and makes recommendations to the SAMCAR Board for endorsement. It also recommends funds and support for the campaigns of said officials. The committee also reviews and decides on positions relative to ballot measures in San Mateo County.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS

Local area Government Affairs Committees review issues and provide feedback to the Government Affairs Director on current legislative issues. Provides an audience for council members and staff. Holds forums for local elections. Members meet monthly at the local level and as neeeded at the regional level.

DIVERSITY EQUITY INCLUSION / FAIR HOUSING

On Wednesday, January 26, 2022, the SAMCAR Board of Directors approved the motion to create a Diversity Equity

Inclusion / Fair Housing Committee.

ELECTIONS*

Qualifies the candidates for each place to be filled on the Board of Directors to ascertain that they are eligible to hold elective office based on the qualifications stated in the Bylaws and in the Policy and Procedures Manual. Also selects annual award winners.

FINANCE*

Reviews the monthly financial reports of SAMCAR’s operation, assists in preparation of annual budget. Monitors financial health and investment direction of the Association.

GRIEVANCE*

Conducts a preliminary review of disciplinary complaints to determine whether the complaint should be forwarded to a Hearing Panel of the Professional Standards Committee (training required to serve on this committee).

Plans New Member Orientation. Suggests and plans strategies for retaining members and attracting new members.

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS NETWORK (YPN)

The Young Professionals Network group covers education, technology, networking, mentoring, leadership development, community service, sharing ideas and information. YPN groups are nationwide and are supported by NAR and C.A.R. This group is geared primarily to REALTORS, however we do encourage affiliate participation. Young at Mind, Young at Heart no I.D. required.
