t’s been 17 years since Michelle Mosca took over Visual Difference hair salon. It’s the call every mother dreads: “Your child has head lice.”

No worries. Anna Albano-Krosche, the Lice Lady of Westchester, can come to the rescue 365 days a year, “because lice is always an emergency.”

Anna is Westchester’s original head lice removal expert. “I’ve been in business since 1998, and I’ve treated over 10,000 heads,” says Anna.

She is the area’s only lice removal specialist with a freestanding salon. She also makes house calls.

Anna frequently travels to schools and camps to do lice checks and to give presentations on head lice prevention. “I’ve been through this with my own children and myself, and I relate 100 percent to everybody who comes in,” she says.

Owners Ken and George specialize in preparing healthy and low-fat foods using the best and freshest ingredients available. Greenburgh Nature Center (GNC) is a nature preserve and wildlife refuge with a mission to ignite passion, curiosity and respect for our natural world. GNC has been a leader in environmental education since 1975. The Nature Center’s 33-acre property includes a variety of rescued and rehabilitated animals, hiking trails, an organic garden, Native American wigwam and longhouse structures, nature’s discovery playground, and a native wildflower meadow.

We have more than 1,800 members, partner with more than 200 schools and serve approximately 85,000 people annually through daily educational programs that include recycling, waste management, Native American history, composting, animal science, honeybees and organic gardening.
