Ed Asner as FDR A Theatre Guild production

Sponsored by:

Cordell, Neher & Co., PLLC and Jeffers, Danielson, Sonn & Aylward, P.S. Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 7:30 pm Based on Dore Schary’s Broadway hit , Sunrise at Campobello, this one-man show takes us through FDR’s White House years from the Depression to the war. Seventime Emmy Award recipient, Ed Asner, shows us why Roosevelt was known as “that man in the White House,” scorned by many and admired by most. We witness his fireside chats; controversial packing of the Supreme Court; personal life; breaking of the Neutrality Act; manipulation of Congress; the Pearl Harbor controversy and the benevolent dictatorship he called the presidency, which made him the only president to be elected to four terms. Tickets: $30 - $45 Approximately 90 minutes (including a 20-minute intermission) Age Appropriateness: Family

Defending the Caveman A Theater Mogul Production Broadway’s Smash Comedy About the Sexes Written by Rob Becker

Sponsored by: DRAG HIM TO A SHOW HE'LL ACTUALLY ENJOY!

North Cascades National Bank Friday, April 9, 2010 at 7:30 pm

The longest running solo play in Broadway history, Defending the Caveman has become a worldwide hit! Caveman has both sexes roaring with laughter and recognition, affectionately nudging each other as they recognize themselves in the stories being told on the stage. It’s an “outrageously funny and surprisingly sweet exploration of the gender gap” (Chicago Sun Times) that has made Caveman “a comic phenomenon” (New York Times). With hysterical observations of contemporary feminism, masculine sensitivity and the erogenous zones, Defending the Caveman mines the common themes in relationships that go straight through the funny bone and into the heart. Tickets: $34 - $41 Approximately 110 minutes (including a 20-minute intermission) Age Appropriateness: Recommended for adult audiences based on subject matter and some language

2009-2010 PAC Educational Outreach Offerings Funded by the ALCOA Foundation Icicle Creek Youth Symphony is the PAC’s Symphony in Residence! September 2009 through March 2010 Funded, in part, by US Bancorp Foundation Now in its third year, this residency, for the only youth symphony in the greater Wenatchee region, has demonstrated a direct and significant impact in the arts education of approximately 60-100 NCW students, annually. Recruitment and cross-community programs, especially those designed to reach under-represented musical/cultural groups, have also increased as a result of ICYS’s ability to perform at the centrally-located PAC. The residency helps the Symphony to produce consistently high-quality concerts each semester, providing students with an acoustically superior sound space in which to regularly rehearse and perform. Have a listen for yourself.

Art on the Avenues’ Beauty of Bronze AND PAC Tours September/October, 2009 Over 600 5th graders from the Wenatchee School District kick off their annual tours of the public art on our avenues at the PAC. This arts education opportunity is maximized by the cooperative efforts of the entities involved to offer a consideration of the similarities and differences of the elements of visual and performing arts in one setting. (Not open to the public)

School Presentations

The following school presentations are generally scheduled for 10am and are 60 minutes in length. Presentations may include a performance, demonstration, and/or Q & A. Last year’s programs served over 2,000 NCW students! Interested educators are encouraged to contact Laura Mead at 509-665-9096 or lauram@pacwen.org to make arrangements for class/school attendance or artist visitation for the following.
