March 11, 2014, William Tinti spoke at the National League of Cities Congressional City Conference in Washington, D.C.
Tinti spoke on a Panel of Experts assembled by the National League of Cities to address the issue of “Creating a Federal Job Training Program for the Future”. Tinti discussed the need for reauthorization of the Workforce Investment Act which provides the basis for workforce development efforts in the United States. He

also reviewed the need for the Education System, the Business Community and the Workforce Development System to work together as the “three legged stool” to promote and sustain JOBS and reduce UNEMPLOYMENT. Tinti also described the novel approaches used by the North Shore Workforce Investment Board, which he chaired for many years and is recognized as one the highest performing Boards in the Country, to provide solutions to joblessness.
