Our World is dedicated to theatre maker Jackie Fielding.

Jackie worked with Live Theatre on 12 festivals and was an inspiration. She was able to create amazing performances working with our young people and will be missed by all who knew and worked with her.

Meet the Team Some of the young people involved in Big Talk, Small Talk discuss the process of making their short plays. Free, booking essential. Suitable for Arts Award and Artsmark visits.

A group of young people give their personal, heart-warming and hilarious perspective on what it’s like to be 11 and 12 years old today. Developed through a series of individual and group interviews this exciting new piece explores friendships, families, politics, growing up and everything in between. An exciting new film in which six young actors work with directors Ian McLaughlin and Bev Fox of Magic If, to create six dynamic characters. The storyline is revealed to the actors during the filming, prompting improvised performances.

Your Aunt Fanny has her bus pass and is Edinburgh bound! See her comedy nieces’ brand new sketch show in two special preview events at Live Theatre before they head north to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The show contains strong language and strong women. Your Aunt Fanny makes her Fringe debut between Wednesday 19 and Saturday 29 August at The Fancy Room, Just the Tonic. Tweet @YourAunnyFanny using the hashtag #FannyFringeFest.

Live Theatre and Arts Award

Getting to Live Theatre

Each week 200 young people between the ages of 11 and 25 meet at Live Theatre and satellite venues to participate in drama sessions. Live’s Youth Theatre is the largest free youth theatre in the region.

Arts Award is a national qualification that supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders. The award fosters creative, communication and leadership skills and helps to prepare young people for further education and employment.

Live Theatre is located behind the Law Courts on Newcastle Quayside. It is approximately a 10 minute walk from Monument, Central and Manors Metro stations. The QuayLink bus service stops opposite the Law Courts and is a 2 minute walk to Live Theatre. The car park in the Trinity Gardens complex is 100 metres from the Theatre and is accessed from City Road and Trinity Gardens. The secure car park is open from 7am to midnight.
