My Creative Images Promoting Digital Photo Artistry and Digital Photography

Issue 48 (March 2022)

Welcome to the Mycreativeimages Magazine Featured artists

March 2022 Personal Note: March sees many troubling things happening in many places around the world. My mind cant contemplate the reasons behind the choices individuals make and the pain they inflict. I don’t pray, but I do hope that some adult reasoning and joined up thinking overtakes the thoughts of anger and greed that seem to be predominately behind many of the things people do that cause pain and hardship all around us. ____________________

This time last year I started on a mini project that I titled “Cherry Natural Beauty” it was a series of images created to celebrate the emergence of nature after a long harsh winter and the link between the early tree blossom and our desire to use artificial enhancements such as makeup, clothes and jewellery to further attract others like flowers attract bees. Later in the year I started to fin myself slipping away from the beauty of nature and falling back into self doubt and self destructive emotions. As a result my art took a different turn and I tried to clear these damaging thoughts from my mind by turning them into art, some of which you would have seen in last months magazine and I have continued to follow that theme as the new year rolls on. I think it is essential that everyone has a way of cleansing they mind of thoughts and emotions that can cause damage to them or that can manifest n the real world and harm others. For me its art, walking in woodland, moving water and photography. It took me many years to find my calming space. Finding what worked for me changed me and the way I see the world and the people around me.

For me art is far more than a pretty picture. Far more than something to hang on the wall. Far more than a digital asset attached to an NFT in the Metaverse. What is art for you?

A new Magazine is COMING SOON

If you have read previous editions of this magazine you will know that I’m very excited about the opportunities offered by NFTs and the rapid growth of the Metaverse. So much so that I have made the decision to start another magazine up. This time it will solely be for artists that sell NFTs. Why? Its simple. Art is Art no matter if its sold as a print or as a downloadable JPG for the buyer to print at home or use on their phone as wall paper or a background. In addition, NFT art is simply another way to sell art that has been made digitally and NFT artists also need a platform to show case their work!

What’s coming for Art Lovers? A magazine showcasing amazing art most include downloadable benefits such as printables or Augmented Reality scenes to view your purchase via your phone. How to Showcase your work in the Magazine? simply visit these two pages on my website: https://www.mycreativeimages.com/nft-magazine/

Bernie Tuffs Hello! I’m Bernie and I live in the little seaside town of Margate and having lived here all my life, I couldn’t live anywhere else now! I’m continually inspired by the scenery here, with skies and light that so excited famous artist J. W. Turner, who said of this area, “…the skies over Thanet are the loveliest in all Europe”. Apparently, a love of the sea stayed with him all his life and I can well understand that! Painting with light holds a real attraction for me - the gentle light that is still strong enough to dispel darkness. I’ve always been arty, progressing from childhood sketching, through gouache and then oil painting, then paper crafting and scrapbooking which led me to digital scrapbooking and finally to Sebastian Michaels and Photo Artistry. My latest venture is designing and selling digital overlays and textures. Now I feel I’m home and am having so much fun with my art!

Claude Trew I retired a few years ago, and since I had more free time, I decided it was time to expand my photo art skills. I have been a member of my local camera club for many years, but I wanted to branch out in areas of photography that would be more artistic and outside the style of photographs that are most successful in club competitions. With this in mind, four years ago I joined the international online Photoshop course “My Photo Artistic Life” created by Sebastian Michaels. I have never regretted my decision and I am still a member of this vibrant and artistic FaceBook community. A few months ago I joined another online course “Elevate your Art”, this time learning to paint with Photoshop’s mixer brush. My vision is, one day, to be able to paint images which will look like oil paintings. You are welcome to visit my website to see some samples of my Photo Art.

David Walker A couple of years without the full freedom to travel at will and explore different adventures have definitely left me rusty as far as my camera skills are concerned. As my PhotoArt depends, almost exclusively, on images taken by myself so necessary actions were required! I enrolled on an evening Sports Photography course at BMET (Birmingham Metropolitan College). After just a few sessions I was using the camera in Manual mode and taking good quality images at Basketball (very fast game!), Football and Netball (both less speedy). The important outcome, after taking about 1,500 images, is a massive increase in my confidence! This month’s PhotoArt is an eclectic mix of images, hope you enjoy them!

James Hurley James is BOLD and direct, this is reflected in his art. He doesn’t let other peoples actions or approaches to life corrupt his mind or attitude. He is his TRUE SELF and has learned to follow his own path brushing himself off and carrying on when he stumbles or has taken a wrong turn, he learns from mistakes or failures. James has turned his negative thoughts about his dreams and ambitions, “its impossible”, into his reality “I’m Possible” this was achieved when he realised he is his most underused and undervalued asset. When asked to describe his work James responded as follows: “I am an Artist. I am a creator. I am a creative entrepreneur. I turn Love, Joy, Passion, challenging emotions into art that makes connections between fantasy and reality to make photo-art that feeds the creative mind and generates happiness at a subconscious level. I LOVE who I am and I POUR this love, my compassion and raw emotions into my photography and Photo-art as a way of sharing my LOVE with you. My sole aim is to leave a lasting impression on people that I meet, that interact with me online or choose to invest in my work, either my artwork or the magazine. In short, if you want artwork that resonates with an emotion you have experienced or that fuels your thoughts then look no further, but remember, emotions should be observed and recognised for what they are they should be learnt from and not drive your choice and decision making.”

All too often people let go of their dreams, and don’t live the life they deserve because they are dragged into the lives of strangers. Pulled in a direction that they don’t want to go simply because of “peerswation” or the need to earn a wage to survive. Don’t lose sight of your dreams. Don’t let others clip your wings.

I get emotionally drained. Some days it just feels like everything is just falling apart. Some days I wonder if what I’m trying to work towards is worth the time, the energy and the money. Then I look around me. I look at the things that are happening, No matter how I feel it’s nothing at all compared to the “ real sh..” that others are going through.

We once thought that the world wasflat. We once treated women as 2nd class citiizens and held them back from their dreams and true life journey. We still belive we can keep taking whatever we want from each other and from mother nature at no cost. Its time to stop..

Sue Waterhouse I was given my first DSLR camera for Christmas in 2013 and very quickly became addicted! fortunately, I was lucky enough to take early retirement at the same time. From 2013 to 2019 my husband and I split our time between Spain and Portugal in the winter, travelling in our motorhome, and the UK and France in the summer. This provided lots of opportunities for many styles of photography. When the first lockdown was introduced in March 2020, I decided I would use some of the extra time that we were spending at home, working to improve my Photoshop skills. Discovering the Photo Artistry course and more recently the AWAKE training has made me appreciate and enjoy creating digital art as much as I enjoy digital photography. I enjoy using photographs I have taken over the last few years and creating digital art from them. I also use models and digital assets provided within the course materials. I have not yet found one particular style that I prefer….maybe I never will! I have recently been working on a series of images illustrating “Collective nouns” Here are 4 of the images from that series.

Vivien Capper Hello, I’m Vivien from the beautiful county of Kent, U.K. I now live in Italy where I find inspiration for my art and creative work. For this month’s magazine I’ve created a study of faces. Shapes, patterns, textures, florals and a bit of fantasy with a modern touch.
