Galápagos National Park and the Marine Reserve are very special places with animals and plants that are unique in the world. The Galápagos Islands are a Natural World Heritage site and important for all of us. Galápagos is, proudly, one of the world’s best-preserved archipelagos, and because of that it is visited by thousands of people.

You have to respect the rules of the Galápagos National Park so your visit doesn’t negatively affect the Enchanted Islands. This great scientist was a curious boy who loved to observe animals and plants. He had a big rock collection! As a young man, he traveled on a ship called Beagle in a scientific expedition. When he arrived to Galápagos, he was astounded by the animals and plants that he saw. And he noticed that animals and plants change over time, adapting to new environments; only the best-adapted survived, forming a new species.
