For the first time ever in action figure form, see the aliens as they really are without the aid of technical sunglasses in this clothed action figure set, featuring a male and female alien. The first of the Mattel Jurassic World reveals is this Indominus Rex from the first Jurassic World movie. The Indominus was previously part of the Hasbro line and this it its first appearance in Mattel's stable of Jurassic World product. Indominus will fall under the Dino Rivals logo and this version is amed the Destroy and Devour Indominus Rex with action features for "slash", "roar" with build in sound FX and finally Devour!

Mattel have shared the promotional images and full details of their Shazam! movie figures, arguably the last they will produce before the DC licence moves to Spinmasters and McFarlane in 2020. As is usual form the line is split into a basic line of figures (which Spin Masters will go on to produce in 2020) and the more collector friendly Multiverse figures (McFarlane from 2020). Both lines have started to sneak out at Retail, but here is confirmation of the figures. In the basic line of 6 inch figures we have the main character of Shazam! along with Freddy, Mary, Darla, Pedro and Eugene. Each figure comes with one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

The Mattel Brachiosaurus was teased ahead of Toy Fair 2019 but never actually made an appearance at the Mattel panel or on display. Oddly, a day after the show closed we were then given this full image of the Brachiosaurus. The dino is coming to retail as a Target US exclusive. There are no details as yet of a wider international release.

In the Multiverse line we have just two figures confirmed. Again we have Shazam! and he is joined by Doctor Sivana. This "less than usual" approach is probably linked to the licence changes with Mattel probably wanting to focus on other licences or the elements of DC it has retained such as Imaginext and the Super Hero Girls.

It was announced last month that Spin Master had wrestled a large proportion of the DC licence away from Mattel. This was for the more basic lines of £10 figures we had been seeing for the various DC movies and for animated and comic book characters.

New images from McFarlane of their second Goblin KIng 7 inch figure from Labyrinth. This has been dubbed the Magic Dance Jareth and will arrive in August 2019. Jareth will be packed in a window box and will include his whip and a Goblin accessory.

The question at the time was where that left the more collector friendly Multiverse line of 6 inch figures, would that remain with Mattel? Well we now know it won't, with the huge announcement that McFarlane have been granted a three year licence deal running from 2020 to make 6 inch scale Multiverse collector figures.

"McFarlane Toys has entered a three-year licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer products to produce collectibles based on the DC Multiverse. Starting in 2020, McFarlane Toys will begin releasing 6"-12" ultra-poseable action figures based on characters from DC's stable of characters from comics, movies, and video games - along with corresponding vehicles and accessories." This is huge news at a time McFarlane are expanding their presence with new licences for Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and with others big licences "teased" for Toy Fair 2019 reveals. We wouldn’t see any McFarlane DC product at Toy Fair, but would expect to start seeing some prototypes in the summer, around SDCC 2019.

The Call of Duty line from McFarlane is extending in 2019 with the announcement at Toy Fair of two new characters. Richtofen and Frank Woods will be added to the 7 inch line later in 2019. "Directed by visionary Jim Henson and executive produced by George Lucas, Labyrinth has garnered a cult popularity since 1986 and is still revered in today’s era as a timeless classic. Stuck babysitting her brother, teenager Sarah, resentfully wishes The Goblin King (memorably portrayed by David Bowie) can take him away. When her wish comes true, Sarah must head into the Labyrinth herself to save him. This Detailed 7-inch scale collectible Jareth in his outfit from the iconic “Magic Dance” musical number includes movie accurate whip and miniature goblin accessories! Designed with 12+ points of articulation for dynamic posing, the figure is showcased in Labyrinth themed window box packaging."

McFarlane's Fortnite licence is about to get a whole lot bigger in 2019 with the announcement of a raft of new figures at Toy Fair 2019 along with some new accessories & vehicles. Joining the existing figures will be Ragnarok, A.I.M., Wildcard, Jonesy and Dark Bomber. We also get a look at the previously announced Carbide, and there is a variant Skull Trooper with Glow in the Dark feature. There will also be an 11 inch deluxe figure of Raven. We start to see some vehicle accessories two with two Fortnite Battle Gliders, a Shopping Trolley and and a Quadcrasher.

McFarlane have shared the first images from three new video game licences Doom, Elder Scrolls and Mortal Kombat.

For Elder Scrolls we have a large deluxe Alduin.

For Doom we have a Doom Slayer 7" figure.

While there were no Stranger Things figures on display at Toy Fair 2019, it seems the line is not finished. This stand at the McFarlane booth indicates we have two more figures to come later in 2019. These will be more figures of Eleven and Chief Hopper. Mortal Kombat is less advances in terms of seeing an actual figure, but we have images of Sub Zero and Scorpion with the intention to release these in 2019 (later end we assume).

While fans had been hoping to see the line open up with more characters, it is positive to see it does feature in McFarlane's future plans even with the recent addition of several other big licences.

Diamond Select Toys have worked closely with Gentle Giant Ltd. for some time, particularly on sculpting work. In a move to obviously enhance their business in statues as well as action figure sculpt and development, Diamond have agreed a deal to purchase the Gentle Giant assets. What this means is that Diamond will assume ownership of the Gentle Giant product and licences which include agreements for statues and busts from big names like Star Wars and Marvel. Diamond will retain the Gentle Giant brand but will use their own channels for distribution. It will be interesting to see how this develops in the coming months and year. The full press announcement can be read here. "Both Diamond Select Toys and Gentle Giant Ltd. have long been known for delivering high-quality busts, statues and action figures to collectors worldwide. Now, fans can get the best of both worlds, as DST finalizes the purchase of select assets of Gentle Giant, taking over manufacturing and distribution of many of the company’s key lines. Beginning February 12, Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles, LLC, will assume operations for all of Gentle Giant’s existing licenses, and release previously developed and newly created busts, statues and scaled-up vintage action figures. Any in-progress and future products will be offered to retailers through the Previews catalog, published by DST’s sister company Diamond Comic Distributors. "

Diamond Select toys have unveiled their next Marvel Select figure as Sandman. The figure is due for release in the Autumn of 2019 and captures Flint Marko in his green/black striped shirt with a fist partially transformed into sand. The figure will also have other hand options including a claw and mace. And for even more display options Diamond will provide a swap out lower section so the legs can be changed to a tower of sand. "A Diamond Select Toys release! Time for lights-out! The Sandman is coming, and he’s got the sand to take on Spider-Man -- and all of the heroes in your Marvel Select collection! Wearing his classic striped shirt, Flint Marko features legs that can change to a tower of sand, and interchangeable sand fist, claw, and spiked mace pieces! Measuring approximately 7 inches tall, he comes packaged in display-ready Select packaging. Designed by Eamon O’Donoghue, and hand-sculpted by Jean St. Jean!"

The John Wick licence at Diamond is going to extend into the 2nd movie with both John Wick 7 inch figures on display, complete with their dog accessories. Both are still pending approval, so are going to be 2nd half of 2019 at least.

Checkout the first Bruce Lee Select figure from Diamond. Bruce comes in his yellow jumpsuit complete with nunchucks. There are two head options and two additional pieces to give the nunchucks the feeling of movement. One of the new properties at Diamond Select Toys for their Select line of 7 inch action figures is Westworld. The figures are still pending licensor approval, so may change or be tweaked, but we had three figures on display at Toy Fair 2019 and they looked great. Up first was Dolores Abernathy (Evan Rachel Wood), followed by Doctor Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins) and his greyhound. The final figure is Ed Harris' Man in Black. There is also a maze base section on display which comes in three parts - we'd assume these are packed as a build-a-diorama feature with each figure.

Diamond Select Toys have a second Bruce Lee 7 inch Select figure in the works. This is the Enter the Dragon Bruce and it comes again with a set of nunchucks and what appears to be the same sort of fx pieces as the first figure.

A new property for Diamond Select in 2019 is the new Netflix Castlevania series. Diamond confirmed the first three figures from the line on display at Toy Fair - Alucard, Sypha Belnades and Trevor Belmont. We should see this first assortment in Summer 2019.

The next MCU Marvel Select was on display at Toy Fair, Captain Marvel in her green Starforce uniform. The figure looks to come with only the masked head, but there is a cat accessory to go with her as well as a bunch of FX pieces that attach to the figure. The base piece, if accurate, is a little lazy as it is the same as used on the Disney Store comic Guardians of the Galaxy figures The masked head choice is interesting considering the original silhouette image from Diamond showed the unmasked (hair down) Carol. Could this mean two versions in the works, or is this a running change?

Mezco revealed their One:12 figures from cult film The Warriors at SDCC 2018. Now the release information has been confirmed and all four figures will be combined into a box-set release rather than individual offerings.

Remember that Toy Fair teaser image from Mezco with the silhouetted figures? Well the first of that set to be confirmed was an MCU Captain Marvel figure from the upcoming movie. "When former U.S Air Force fighter pilot turned superhero Captain Marvel joins Starforce, she must return to Earth which is now in the crossfires of two alien races." Captain Marvel will expand the MCU offering from Mezco in they 6 inch One:12 line, joining Thor, Hela and Hulk from Ragnarok, Spider-Man from Homecoming, Black Panther and the Punisher and Daredevil from the Netflix series.

For The Warriors we have 6 inch figures of Ajax and Swan. Both come with a baseball bat accessory and an alternative head portrait. There are also multiple hand options and a display stand included with both. Ajax has a pair of handcuffs, Swan has a knife and two Molotov Cocktails.

The Furies are presented in their Baseball uniforms. Both again coming with Baseball bats. There are more interchangeable hands and a Furies display base. The Fury leader has an alternative head sculpt. While the packaging has not been unveiled, the set is listed as coming in a collector friendly metal tin. The set has a US RRP of $275, and that will likely convert to somewhere around the ÂŁ220 mark for UK collectors. There is a tentative release date of December 2019 - March 2020.

In a pre-Toy Fair 2019 tease, Mezco shared details of a brand new action figure line that they would debut in New York. "Toy Fair is less than a week away and it's time for another Toy Fair 2019 product reveal! Here's a sneak peak at a brand new line we will be debuting at Toy Fair: 5 Points."

The images are not the best, but the Mezco One:12 reveals for Toy Fair are starting to come through. Up first, and most exciting, is the 1989 Batman as seen in the original Keaton movie - he is down for a December 2019 release. The figures are taken from a wide breadth of franchises including Scooby Doo, The Addams Family, The Warriors, Six Million Dollar Man, Birdman and Space Ghost.

Releasing at the same time is Wonder-Woman. This looks to be more of a comic book inspired Wonder-Woman rather than the movie iterations we've seen.

All the figures are down for a 2020 release.

We get a better look at their Captain Marvel, as announced just ahead of Toy Fair. And also from the same teaser is a first look at both Pennywise (IT, 2017) and Hellboy from the upcoming 2019 reboot. A surprise inclusion is one of the Aliens from the 1988 Roddy Piper movie, They Live. Finally is Gomez, Mezco's own logo character. He was teased during the build up to Toy Fair and is listed on the card as Agent Gomez and as a Toy Fair exclusive - the figure was actually packed into a Press Bag at the event along with a 2nd figure of Blade. The same Press Bagg included a catalogue of releases - and in this were three figures that were not on display - a classic DC Aquaman, Marvel Moon Knight and X-Men Gambit.

After buying the Power Rangers property outright, Hasbro will launch their first Power Ranger product in 2019.

In a pre-Toy Fair announcement, Hasbro have confirmed via StarWars.com the next wave of their 3.75 inch Galaxy of Adventures figures.

Announced via Screenrant, ahead of New York Toy Fair, the following details are for the budget $10/£10 figures. These will be in stores in Spring 2019 and are all take from the Beast Morphers show.

This line is packed in a unique circular tube and includes a mini comic and a code to unlock online features, "Each pack contains one 3.75-inch scale Star Wars figure, a mini comic, and a code that can be activated with a smart device to unlock more stories online." Wave 1 is just hitting UK stores as we speak (checkout #OnThePegs) with Wave 2 due for a Spring release. The next six figures will be on display and Toy Fair and are Rey, Kylo Ren, Obi-Wan Kenobi (McGregor), Darth Maul, General Grievous and Boba Fett. RRP on these is circa £10.

"When scientists convert the power of the Morphing Grid into Morph-X, a group of teens are infused with animal DNA to become the POWER RANGERS BEAST MORPHERS and protect the Morph-X from any villains who may try to steal it. The figures in the POWER RANGERS BEAST MORPHERS BASIC FIGURES Assortment stand at 6 inches tall, feature multiple points of articulation, and includes 2 accessories so kids can imagine the martial arts action of the POWER RANGERS BEAST MORPHERS TV show. Plus, with the included Morph-X key, kids can imagine unlocking powers in the Beast-X Morpher toy. The assortment includes the RED RANGER Figure, BLUE RANGER Figure, YELLOW RANGER Figure, CYBERVILLAIN BLAZE Figure and TRONIC Figure. Imagine the CYBERVILLAIN BLAZE and TRONIC Figures commanding the forces of Evox to steal the Morph-X and have the RED, BLUE and YELLOW RANGER Figures fighting to protect the Morph-X! Find other POWER RANGERS figures and gear, including POWER RANGERS BEAST MORPHERS toys, to expand the morphinominal action. Each sold separately. Available at most major toy retailers nationwide."

The Hasbro Lightning Collection, it's new 6 inch Power Rangers property, will launch in 2019. The first figure we saw was the White Ranger and there had been some conflicting info about which other figures would be included for the first wave.

Hasbro have now confirmed the line will launch with a four figure wave made up of the White Ranger, the S.P.D. Shadow Ranger, Lord Zedd and Dino Charge Red Ranger. The Dino Charge Red Ranger comes with unmasked head and we've got the packaged image for this figure. There will also be an exclusive Goldar figure going into Gamestop stores. We would expect this to be available outside the US via the usual channels. "GOLDAR, the iconic villain and nemesis of the MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS crashes into the LIGHTNING COLLECTION with this premium figure from Hasbro. Inspired by Rita Repulsa's legendary, golden-armored warrior, this GOLDAR figure is highly poseable and includes a sword accessory and battle FX accessories. Available exclusively at GameStop." The figures will be 6 inch scale and presented similar to existing 6 inch figures from Hasbro like Star Wars Black Series and Marvel Legends. The packaging looks great and maintains the original Power Rangers feel, while I think will appeal to collectors.

From Revenge of the Fallen is number 47 Deluxe class Hightower, who will convert from the Constructicon to be part of the Devastator.

The next batch of Hasbro's Transformers Studio Series figures have been confirmed. We start with a stunning new Leader class Optimus Prime who will be number 44 in the series and based on Dark of the Moon. He will come with his trailer and his Jetwing jet-pack.

Up last is the KSI Boss from Age of Extinction. He will be a Voyager class release and numbered 43 in the line. He can convert from Robot to Jet.

Number 45 is a Deluxe class Drift, who will transform to his Helicopter mode as seen in Age of Extinction.

So you like Ghostbusters? And you like Transformers? Well you have come to the right place as Hasbro have just announced this crossover product of a Transforming Ecto-1 called Ectotron.

The classic Ghostbusters famous Cadillac will transform into robot form, and even comes with a small non-articulated Slimer. The set is exclusive to Gamestop in the US. We would hope there is a wider international release and availability.

Here is the first look at Hasbro's newest Star Wars line, an 8 inch collection of figures called Star Wars Hyper Real. The line will still fall under the Black Series banner, but will be a 1/9 scale rather than the 1/12 we are used too. The figures are obviously aimed towards the higher end market and to achieve this Vader has soft goods robes and a neat diorama display base. He will be armed with his lightsaber and has a number of hand options, including one with a force FX piece attached.

In what will surely be a divisive move across fandom, Hasbro have announced that they will be making and releasing a collection of Star Wars Kenner reproduction carded figures called the retro collection. The line will launch as a Target exclusive in the US with reproduction figures of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Chewbacca and a Stormtrooper. All of these look identical to the original vintage figures with reproduction cards that then carry a circular sticker/logo identifying them as the Retro Collection. There will also be a new addition with a Tarkin figure created for this collection in the Vintage Kenner style and packaging. The first figures are due to arrive in May 2019 and are priced at $9.99 each at Target.

One of the exciting elements of the new Hasbro Star Wars Retro Collection was the announcement of a brand new Tarkin figure in the original vintage style on original vintage card. There will be another way to obtain this figure, packed with this replication of one of the original Star Wars board games , Escape from the Death Star. This set will be available around May 2019 with a US price tag of $19.99

"Inspired by Star Wars 70s-style action figures, the Star Wars Retro Collection 3.75-inch-scale figures feature original Kenner figure design and detailing and make a great addition to any nostalgic fan's Star Wars collection. Imagine the excitement of the 70s when the Star Wars original trilogy had just begun, and Kenner began releasing classic Star Wars figures for avid fans of the space saga. with figures inspired by the original sculpt and design of the 70s, the Star Wars Retro Collection lets fans and collectors continue their collection from a galaxy far, far away! Additional figures each sold separately. Subject to availability."

Star Wars Black Series fans were left a little wanting after the Hasbro presentation with only minimal news to share about the line. Other than the new Hyper Real Darth Vader, news was as follows... Star Wars Celebration Exclusive of Obi-Wan Kenobi on an Episode 1 card. This of course means this is a new younger Obi-Wan than what has been released / announced to date. To go with this is a 2nd Exclusive of Darth Maul on the same Episode 1 card. This is a repack and potentially why we haven't seen Darth Maul carded in the Archive collection yet as originally mentioned.

The Star Wars 3.75 inch Vintage collection news breaks down as follows. Hasbro will bring a Jabba's Palace Playset to the line which will also include Han in Carbonite and Ree-Yees. The figures will be carded in the box if you want to display them that way. This set is exclusive to Walmart in the US but should be OK for an international release via your local independent. It is unlikely Asda will bring this into UK stores.

The line will be given a packaging refresh this year, most likely in line with Episode 9. We will also see the return of the Fans Choice figure, with the decision this year being for an Empire Strikes Back figure, no doubt for the 40th Anniversary of that movie.

There will be a three pack of Jabba's Guards to supplement the Sail Barge. The Sail Barge will be offered to the UK, it seems via eBay in March but we await more info.

Voting in the first round has taken place at the various fan sites with Lobot heading the poll presently.

And to add to the Sail Barge display even further there is a Vintage collection Skiff with flying display stand. And if all that wasn't enough, Walmart will be carrying an exclusive Lando in Skiff Guard disguise.

Wave 2 for Avengers will include the previously announced Classic Loki, Union Jack and Beta Rey Bill. This is where the MCU Shuri from Black Panther will fit. Also included is Rock Python as the Serpent Society team building continues.

At the Hasbro press panel a number of brand new Marvel Legend figures were confirmed and announced. These, as usual, were broken down into themed waves. Starting with the Spider-Man Wave 2 of 2019 - this will feature the Stealth Suit and new Spider-Suit from Spider-Man Far from Home. Also included will be Spider-Woman (Julia Carpenter), Doppelganger, Hydroman and a classic Scorpion. Walgreens have the Mystique exclusive which is hitting stores now. They will also be getting an Infamous Iron-Man and a Black Costume Emma Frost.

Walmart will get the final member of the Black Order, Corvus Glaive, in a 2-pack with an Infinity War Loki (the one we saw in the recent behind the scenes video - a repaint of the Ragnarok version). Walmart are also getting the Binary Form Captain Marvel.

Avengers Wave 1 2019 will be made up of the previously announced Citizen V, Night Hawk, Living Laser and Hercules. Figures for Avengers Endgame remain under wraps, but the Endgame wave will include Ebony Maw.

Target are getting two new exclusive 2-packs in the US. First in the MCU line is a Spider-Man Homecoming set of Spider-Man and MJ. Images on this are not great, but show the 2-pack as including Spider-Man in his yellow school blazer and a great looking MJ figure with two head sculpts. The second set is a Spider-Man and Kraven the Hunter 2-pack as seen previously at the New York Toy Fair. Target are already accepting pre-orders on both of these at $39.99 each. The release date is 24th of April.

The 80 years of Marvel will be an Autumn release and includes both comic book and MCU releases.

Amazon's exclusive is an X-Men Brotherhood 3 pack made up of Magneto and his two children Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. This is already on pre-order on Amazon.com for a July 1st 2019 release. The item will ship to UK at around ÂŁ65 shipped with customs sorted in advance.

For comic book fans we have the Wolverine & Hulk 2-pack which is a fan channel exclusive. There is a new Juggernaut with new helmet.with a Classic X-Men Colossus. Walmart will have a Classic Captain America. There will also be Classic releases of Thor and Iron-Man who will come with an alternative 1980's helmet.

MCU fans can look forward to a Captain America set including Captain America in POW jacket and Peggy Carter - this is an Amazon Exclusive. For Thor Ragnarok we have Hela, complete with a new head (perhaps the one we shared a few months ago) and Skurge. There is also then a Grandmaster and Korg two pack.

DC Collectibles are no strangers to style and scale changes, and today have announced two new projects starting in 2019. The article, via The Hollywood Reporter, introduces us to a brand new 9 inch scale for DC figures. The line is called DC Prime and will launch in October 2019 with a Batman figure complete with three swap out heads, various hand options, batarang and grappling gun.

We will also have a rather interesting concept called DC ยกLucha Explosiva! This is a line of figures which reimagine DC characters as Luchador wrestlers. Each release will have an amended backstory inspired by Mexican culture and history. The first wave, scheduled for August 2019, is made up of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cheetah, Metallo II and Deathstroke.

This is a more high end collectors focused line than previous DCC lines and you can see that in the packins and the various other touches like the wired cape.

Super7 will be releasing 7 inch scale figures from the 1987 Masters of the Universe movie in their Masters of the Universe line. Four figures are displayed, He-Man (Dolph Lundgren), Karg and two versions of Skeletor. Here is our first look at the 6 inch scale Karate Kid figures from Icon Heroes. The team at Icon are releasing both Daniel and Johnny from the 1984 classic movie, both in their competition suits to recreate that final showdown at the All-Valley Championships.

The figures are marked as being available from March 2019 with a US price tag of $35

Both figures come with three head options and alternative hand options for the various Karate stances and moves. Original accessories shown on a mockup at SDCC 2018 seem to have been lost - these were the All-Valley Championship Trophy and a Bonsai tree.

We got our first glimpse at the Medicom MAFEX Newt Scamander at Tokyo Comic Con at the end of 2018, at that time it was an unpainted prototype. Roll forward to the Wonderfest Winter event in Tokyo and Medicom have a painted figure on display, complete with a Niffler and his famous suitcase. The figure is not yet confirmed as having a release date.

With the release of Toy Story 4 this year, the team at Beast Kingdom are whetting our appetite for the movie with the details of their new Buzz Lightyear and Woody action figures from the original Toy Story movie.

The other Newt Scamander offering on display at Wonderfest Winter 2019 was this version from Soap Studios.

Woody will come with swap out face sections to give him three distinct looks. There are alternative hands available and he will also have his trademark cowboy hat which is removable. He will stand around 7 inches tall and a display stand is included.

Soap's version of Newt remains 1/12 (6 inch) scale but is more akin to the Mezco figures with soft goods tailored clothing. This version of Newt comes with his suitcase and mini figures of Niffler and the Bowtruckle.

Buzz Lightyear will also come with three facial portraits and swap out hands. He also has his flight wings which are removable - sadly they don't appear to be working like the actual Buzz in the film. Buzz will stand a little taller at 8 inches and also has a display stand. The Soap Studios Newt Scamander has no release date either as yet, but will be a higher price point than the MAFEX version, coming in somewhere in the region of £80 - £100 for the UK market once imported.
