Character Toys have officially announced their Doctor Who, 13th Doctor 5.5 inch action figure. The 13th Doctor, as played by Jodie Whittaker, will scale with all the previous 5.5 inch Doctor Who releases and will come with her sonic screwdriver. The packaging has been overhauled and redesigned for the 2018 relaunch of the show and returns to the blister card design. The 13th Doctor can be pre-ordered from Character Options website priced at ÂŁ12.99. plus your choice of delivery. The item will be shipped in the first week of January 2019. It seems Hasbro's range of action figures is about to get bigger. At the recent BlizzCon 2018 event (the Blizzard Entertainment Convention) it was announced that the Hasbro team have obtained the licence to make Overwatch figures. These figures we assume will be in the 6 inch scale. This image of Mercy from Overwatch was shown at the event and the figures should hit stores in Spring of 2019.
So far all we have seen of the McFarlane 6 inch scale Game of Thrones figures are digital mock ups of the first four figures - Night King, Jon Snow, Arya Stark and Daenerys Targaryen. McFarlane have however now shared this tease of the Night King prototype figure which looks amazing. The figures are due around June 2019, and pre-orders can be placed now - including at our affiliate partners Forbidden Planet
Halloween.... and Mezco announce the arrival of Freddy Krueger to their One:12 Collective. Freddy will come with four head options, one of which has a removable face section to reveal the skull beneath. Of course he includes his trademark hat and a soft goods tailored striped jumper. There are three versions of his knife glove and a number of alternative left hands, including one with the severed finger. His final accessory is the trash can lid and being a One:12 Collective release there is the usual display stand, with movie poster design. Freddy is scheduled for a release between July and September 2019. He will cost $80 in the US, with a $20 non refundable deposit payable if you order direct from Mezco. Expect to be paying circa £75 when UK pre-orders open up.
Diamond Select Toys and Disney Store have officially announced their Select 7 inch Mark 50 Iron-Man figure from Avengers Infinity War. The figure was leaked early after a few Disney stores broke the embargo and put him out for sale. We now get a lovely set of promotional images and a good look at the various nano weapons included in the set. Most Diamond/Disney exclusives are Worldwide, so we would hope to see these in UK Disney Stores soon (not confirmed) - let us know if you find one?

Announced at MCM Comic Con London, the Battle Droids are coming to the 6 inch Star Wars Black Series in 2019. The figure will be engineered so it can actually fold up into the stowed position. There will also be some interchangeable parts included for the shoulders and backpack so fans can adjust the look of their Battle Droid when army building these onto display. The Battle Droid will include its E-5 Blaster Rifle.
I had predicted that Mace Windu was going to be the 6 inch Black Series reveal at London Comic Con, only for the Battle Droid to be revealed. It seems I was one Convention out, as the Hasbro team unveiled Mace at the Lucca Comic Con in Italy and he will be joining the Black Series in Spring 2019. Unlike most other Jedi's that preceded him, Mace Windu will come with a Soft Goods cloak. He will also include his iconic purple lightsaber.
Lucca Comic Con saw Hasbro then confirm the release of Puma and a 6-Arm Spider-Man in the Marvel Legend line. Due to a display error at London Comic Con, the cat was kind of out of the bag on these figures - but it was nice to see the promotional images. It was confirmed these will join the Kingpin BAF wave alongside Black Cat, Red Goblin, Silver Sable, Modern Symbiote Spider-Man and Night Thrasher.
Three new Hasbro Marvel Legends were revealed at the MCM London Comic Con Panel. Union Jack was the British link, arriving in 2019. He will be joined by Citizen V from the Thunderbolts. Both Union Jack and Citizen V will fall under an Avengers wave with already announced figures like Classic Loki and Hercules. The exact make up of these waves (plural) can't be confirmed as yet as they will also include MCU figures from the 4th Avengers movie. Fans of the 1990's X-Men figures will finally be able to complete their blue team in 2019. Gambit and a new Jubilee have already been announced, and at the MCM London panel is was confirmed the team would be completed by the addition of Beast.
Hasbro have unveiled the addition of R2-D2 to the 3.75" Vintage Collection at their MCM London Comic Con Panel. They describe this as the definitive R2-D2 with removable 3rd leg for posing him in a couple of different positions. He will be released in 2019 on the A New Hope cardback.
NECA have revealed the full packaging design for their Nightmare on Elm Street Accessory Set. The pack includes Freddy as a Worm and Freddy as a TV from Dream Warriors. There are also Elm Street Signs to enhance your Freddy Krueger display. The set is due for release by end of 2018. Pre Orders are being taken now around the £60, including from our affiliate partners Zavvi and Forbidden Planet. It has also been confirmed that the "Prime Time" Freddy as TV will come with a lenticular screen. At the Lucca Comic & Games Convention in Italy, Hasbro announced another new addition to the 3.75" Vintage collection for 2019. Poe Dameron, in his X-Wing "flyboy" suit from The Last Jedi will be packed onto a vintage card with face print technology included on the head sculpt. NECA have released this image showing the outer sleeve packaging for the Ultimate Gremlin figure. The release uses the original movie poster as a cover with the VHS like side spine. The Ultimate Gremlin should arrive before Christmas according to Randy Falk at NECA, although it is unclear if that will be realised for the UK at this stage.
NECA have just announced, via Bloody Disgusting. a brand new 8" figure of Valak from the movie, The Nun. Valak the Demon is part of "The Conjuring" Universe and the most recent outing of The Nun fills in some of Valak's backstory. The NECA figure will sit in their 8" retro style figure range, where a generic body is dressed with tailored soft goods clothing and appropriate sculpted head and hands are added. Valak will come with two heads, one neutral and one screaming.
The figure is scheduled for a release in the first quarter of 2019 From The Nun, the terrifying new movie in The Conjuring Universe, the demon Valak takes action figure form! This clothed figure is based on the demon’s manifestation as a nun and features a full fabric habit. NECA have announced the 2019 release of their Spyro the Dragon action figure. Spyro, hero in a number of video game adventures including the Skylander series, will be just under 8 inch in length and is fully articulated including wings and tail. He is scheduled for release in the 2nd quarter of 2019, so sometime between April & June. From the classic and beloved video games, the adventurous young dragon Spyro makes his debut as a NECA action figure! The purple dragon is styled as he first appeared in the games and measures nearly 8” in length with tail straightened. He’s fully articulated, including ball jointed wings, segmented tail, hips, ankles, chest and more!
The Ultimate Gremlin will include numerous accessories to allow you to display your Gremlin in different scenarios. These include popcorn bags that fit over the ears as well as playing cards and a pitcher of beer. NECA have tweeted in response to a collector that they did explore including the crossbow, pistol and balaclava - but these were rejected by the licence holder.

Michael Myers is not the only 7 inch action figure NECA are releasing for the 2018 Halloween movie. It seems after all these years we are finally going to get a Laurie Strode figure as played by Jamie Lee Curtis. For now, this teaser image is all the info we have - we await more from NECA with baited breath
The NECA Twitter/Facebook feed is well and truly back with its themed daily posts, and for #Prednesday we get a first look at the packaging design for their Alien vs Predator Arcade figures. The artwork is certainly reminiscent of the 1994 game with a checklist of the various figures down the right hand side. The full range was down for a November 2018 release, we may see that slip to December now particularly for UK collectors.

The speculation is that these are accessories included Laurie Strode figure teased by NECA on Halloween. This accessories would almost certainly make Laurie an Ultimate However, we could be barking up the wrong tree completely.

It has been over 12-months since we had our last wave of Alien figures from NECA. Factory issues in the Far East have delayed Series 13 for a number of months, but we are getting close now to the Series 13 releases. Those releases took another step forward with this image from NECA of the front blister insert for the Series 13 Kenner Inspired Snake Alien. The full Kenner Inspired Series 13 lineup of the Snake Alien, Scorpion Alien and Sergeant Apone should make it to store shelves for December 2018.
