One year follows another and September of ten serves to foreshadow, in every field, what the coming year will be like. Of course there are the 2013 collections, but 2014 is the year designers are looking toward after a sluggish, morose year, regardless of what anyone says. It's a time to contemplate the new creations on display at the upcoming Maison & Objet show (which, each year, never fails to make Decoration and Design news), we detect a return to simplicity, with flashy colors taking a back seat in favor of light, pastel tones. White, gray, motherof-pearl, blue, and green, are regaining their status, it's about time, perhaps. It is a simplicity that seems to go perfectly with recession years, probably pure speculation. So get ready for classic with, innovation mandatory, a (traditional) touch of modernity. In this new issue, which we have intended to be graphically wonderful and which should dress you for winter, you will find fireplaces to warm your body... the whole house, majestic rooms, put together with a taste for a rare insolence that leads us, for a change, to congratulate the designer. Nothing to say to that, it makes you dream and want to invest. And then, since it has been a long time since the design press has examined what is going on between the lines, we have dedicated an entire article to those sculptures walk on without ever lingering too long, stairways. Pool shelters and indoor spas complete the picture with new items that are beautiful and sophisticated as always, not to mention Philippe Starck in Miami and our own in Mane en Provence. It's an issue that has gained weight, but still no wrinkles. This season, the living room design trend brings a colorful style with a serene splendor. Art deco trend revisited… A return to the simplicity and geometry of forms, the art deco style is beautifying living rooms. Furniture is functional, solid, and does not get lost in flourishes, invading minds and the space. Royal style par excellence, inspired by the classicism of the 17th century, the art deco movement advocated an assumed development of a certain standard of living, an attraction to wealth, which is now indoors… From Vox Meubles, the bulky look of the wenge is offset by the minimalism of the forms and modularity. The space of the room is optimized, and it remains vast and supreme. The modern inter-

pretation of this movement focuses creativity on the quest for sensuality, much more than on the attraction of social representations. The quality of materials, combined with the effect of the raw and rounded shapes, offers a new look at what splendor is. Enjoying your kingdom no longer requires a spirit of conquest, but rather an ability to remain with your senses awakened. Timothy Oulton offers a personal interpretation of the art deco style, by combining vintage leather and hand-worked metal. The armchair, imposing and clean, is an invitation to sensual pleasure…

A sovereign interior‌ The living room is the part of the home that blends private and social life, interior and exterior. Decorating the living room was long considered an ostentatious act, it is a matter of displaying for visitors what you want to show of your life. This part of the home is also the place where we spend the most time, alone or with family.. The paradox appears to be: should you decorate the living room to feel good in it or to give it some splendor? The newest design trends, and the freedom of creativity that inspires them, are heading for new horizons. The selection of furniture and design elements offers so many possibilities that it is now easy to create a place

that brings us together, containing everything we...love. Whether you are turned toward the future, dynamism, and construction, or attracted by dreams and inspiration, designers and decorators are proposing comfortable innovations, charged with meaning and ergonomic. For those who love action and want to live in the fast lane, Ekornes proposes an imperial conference space, combining the movement of professional furniture with the ultra-comfort of the living room. Gentle dreamers will be able to attend to the contemplation of royal tapestries, like those by Elitis, whose iconography has been replaced by sensual textures, inviting you to touch them...

Eternal present‌ The quest for the Holy Grail appears to have resulted in these dÊcors where time stands still. Blinding distant, recent, and contemporary eras, the style of these trendy living rooms offer a pause in space time, making each moment the eternal present...Skillful wall tapestries, streamlined grandiose chandeliers, armchairs with royal curves or geometric shapes come together to create a contemporary haven of peace. The tones of this trend are mellow: gray, beiges and brown, brightened with fine gilding, to compose a place with a serene splendor. La Redoute proposes a dÊcor that

brings together browns and creamy textures. The chandeliers evoke the magnificence of the days of the chateaux, but updated, geometric, and streamlined. The monochromatic browns give character to this uncluttered living room. Mise en demeure opts for period furniture, with an elegant Chesterfield living room set. The unique combination of leather and velvet, dark and light gray, create a modern, simple, and stylish atmosphere in total harmony with the wood paneling and period chandeliers, providing light to the room.

My beautiful kingdom… With this royal trend, the living room invites you to savor its own domain, where our loved ones live and are welcome.

The conquest is on the inside, where we conspire to expand the horizon of our soul and our life plans. In a world of utter sensuality, curled up on a velvet armchair, feet on a soft rug, sharing and relaxing reign supreme, tinged with soft and natural nuances. The definition of royal is changing; we are all kings and queens of our world, rich in dreams, plans, creations, and love... Love replaces weapons to expand our territory in places always more vast, real, or imaginary, which go against the temporal limits of eras and trends.

Wall coverings… Tapestries, once the ostentatious sign of noble wealth, find their sumptuousness in another design. The iconography has been replaced by plays of materials and light, encouraging simple, sweet contemplation. There is no longer a need to try to figure out how to decorate the living room; bare, sensual walls are enough… MCOMMEMAISON INTERACTIVE - No. 11

The showpiece of your living room, the fireplace warms, purifies the atmosphere, and provides a certain character to a home. Combining artistic design and technological prowess, that's the challenge that craftsmen and designers have always laid out for themselves. From the Gyrofocus of 1968, to more futuristic creations, makers of wood stoves and fireplaces combine elegance and ingenuity.

Built-in fireplaces‌ Your home is spacious, with multiple volumes to heat, you are looking for comfort and warmth, so you should take care in choosing a fireplace. If your residence, on one or more floors, only has one fireplace but the stovepipe passes through other rooms, you cam opt for an insert, which will distribute the heat throughout multiple parts of the house. In steel or cast iron, fireplace inserts can slide into new or existing fireplaces, and can heat one or more rooms. In terms of style, here again the selection is vast. Regardless of the style of your fireplace, you have several options,

open or closed, which blend flawlessly with a moden or more traditional environment. There is a solution for every configuration. If its placement presents an exposed angle with a lateral face as shown below, which produces a more designer effect, or if its configuration is more simple, with just a single side, performance is not degraded in any way. Fireplace inserts are made to order, depending on your esthetic requirements as well as your home's BTU needs and technical constraints.

Gentleness and Harmony by the Fire‌ We can expect different things from a fireplace, depending on the room it is located in. In the past, there was a fireplace in every kitchen. The common element to the dining room, preparing meals over the fire, cookinng your bread or pizza, or simmering a meal for hours. The taste of a meal prepared over a wood fire, which goes deliciously well with the pleasure of standing in front of a roaring fire like in the old days is, fortunately, still current.Today's craftsmen still master those ancestral techniques, with more efficient materials at their disposal, so there is no need to choose between tradition and modernity.

For fireplaces in the living room or bedroom, priority is given to estheticism and safety. With regard to the visual aspect, there are f or example, "full view" contemporary models, where the natural spectacle of the fire is on display. You can choose from straight, multi-sided, front-back, or suspended fireplaces. Equiped with a fully removable door and, for better thermal comfort, lined inside with firebrick, the fireplace can be neat and elegant. Easy to operate, and to clean, you just have to give in to your romantic or philosophical urges, with complete peace of mind.

Gas fireplaces‌ My first : an architectural fireplace totally integrated with the style of your living room, My second : an open or closed gas fireplace. My third: simple cleaning without ashes or dust. My everything: a fireplace that lets you have a different kind of fire in the urban environment. It's true that storing wood or a bulky fuel in the city is not an easy task; you have to transport it or have it delivered and store it in a location protected from moisture. Worry no longer, because you can now light your fire and adjust the flame height

at the touch of a finger and by sight, using the remote control. You can also program it to go on before you come home, without having to worry about anything whatsoever. The last word in modern comfort and discreet elegance. With the same home automation options, there are also models that look so much like a traditional wood fireplace, you can hardly tell them apart. A few decorative, non-combustible logs set in the fireplace cleverly disguise the origin of the flames. Results and effects guaranteed for this ingenious solution.

Reading beside the fire… Yes, wood stoves are back in fashion. Several factors can explain this phenomenon: rising fossil fuel prices, renewable energies credits and, above all, improved equipment performance including for logburning models: Low or medium power, they are easy to install and use, and they distribute their heat quickly and directly. Unlike what you may have heard, installing a wood stove in an apartment is not prohibited. Just make sure that your HOA regulations allow wood burning stoves, and that the smoke exhaust pipe is up to code.

The latest incarnation of a traditional wood stove, the newest models employ 21st century technology, and the efficiency of dual environmental and economic performance. Wood heating is environmentally friendly, because it helps to limit greenhouse gas emissions. Opting for wood heating also means substantial savings, because it is a relatively cheap fuel (annual cost of €765 for a 120 m², four person house with energy needs of 20,000kWh/year). For an authentic atmosphere, safe heat, all with the sensations of a real wood fire,

possible to adapt the fireplace to individual volumes and configurations. Some surface materials , such as HI-MACSÂŽ are known to be used by the great interior designers. The quality and plastic properties of these materials make it possible to bring the most demanding creations to life, regardless of the limitations. Here, the fireplace serves as a partition, while enjoyed by two separate living areas. For an effect that is less authoritative and more discreet, but is no less elegant, the environmentally friendly ethanol fireplace can be installed anywhere and comes in a wide range of colors and sizes. MCOMMEMAISON INTERACTIVE - No. 11

Interior architect Kamini Ezralow, founder of Ezralow Design, released the first eight pieces from Bronze, her first furniture collection, at the International Furniture Show last year in Milan. At the April show, she exhibited the full collection, releasing eight new pieces to enthusiastic acclaim. The full collection went on display starting July 18 in an exhibition at the WOOD WORK Showroom in Monaco. For the Bronze collection, Kamini Ezralow drew her inspiration not only from the material used as a finish or details on each piece, but also from what this noble material represents: longevity, classicism, tactility, and elegance. Kamini Ezralow launched her first furniture collection, Bronze, in collaboration with the Italian familyowned company, Orsi. Bronze is an homage to traditional Italian art and this expresses contemporary luxury. Orsi is located in the Cabiate region of Italy, a region synonymous with skilled craftsmanship. It is home to metallurgists, scrapmetal merchants, cabinetmakers, wood carvers, bronze smiths, lacquer workers, and specialist upholsterers. Kamini Ezralow consciously sought to create a collection that brings together the talents passed down from generation to generation with the attention for design, believing it is essential to pay homage to art through the idea of luxury today. 1977

By Carole Derguini

Return to Simplicity Whatever the application, design and decoration reflect an era above all else. It's a snapshot of society at any given moment. Starting in 1977, the euphoria of the early 70s, in terms of morals as well as creativity, gave way to a pragmatic simplicity, embodied in France by a new President, Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, and his cabinet. In all areas of life, it can be said that starting in 1977, the bubbling energies of the early 70s began to be channeled.

Oil crises, a bankrupt world economy, and the end of the anti-establishment era sounded the return to calm and simplicity of forms. On the agenda for the new French government: laws on social security, health-

care, and transportation. With them, the time had come for a return to the sound value of the home and comfort became a priority. Carpet, curtains, and wallpaper dominated, providing enveloping comfort that served as protection from the harsh world outside. It revealed a desire on the consumer's part to appropriate distinctive features, a style. Practical furniture made its way into interiors, made of light pine and particle board, combined with colorful textiles, which fit the era perfectly. Vinyl and new flooring materials brought about more original possibilities.

Style and lifestyle On the list of events that changed the everyday lives of the French, the RER, Paris' suburban rail network, the Concorde, the VW Beetle, the Renault 4... The consequence of scientific and political advances, these technical and societal innovations imposed a "high-tech" lifestyle as well as a more neutral decorative atmosphere on France. Internationally, furniture became mass produced with a simple look (kit furniture) spread by the opening of large stores (like Habitat) and by mail order. Starting in 1977, with skyrocketing oil prices and the emergence of environmentalist movements, people turned to better values like wood, with rustic furniture taking the place of honor. Living in, is Living On January 31, 1977, Paris' Georges Pompidou national arts and culture center was opened by ValĂŠry Giscard d'Estaing, in the presence of Prime Minister Raymond Barre, Mrs. Claude Pompidou and many other personalities. This center is one of the most famous French creations, but above all it is representative of two ideologies. It was here that art and

design, integrated in the life of the city resident, met up with the "high tech" movement to take on an esthetic dimension. Thanks to "Beaubourg," the locals' name for the Pompidou center, the name of the movement then began to evoke a style: a technological style materialized by the ostensible arrangement of pipes, nuts, and bolts, meant to glorify the "guts" of architecture. The center's appearance was highly controversial. But the center and its controversial architecture were a big public success. Renzo Piano, one of the project's 3 architects declared that he "had wanted to tear down the image of a cultural building that made people scared. It's the dream of an extraordinarily free relationship between art and people, where you breathe in the city at the same time." In 1977 decorators and designers proposed their innovative vision: new colors, a new approach to materials: brushed steel, stainless, mirror. The designer considers ergonomics, working conditions, rational use of space, multiple functions of furniture. The designer invents a new language and an approach to the real from sociological decoding. Art invites itself and collaborates in everyday life. The end of the 1970s was marked by this cross-disciplinarity, and design became a new method of communication.

A structural construction element, and ornamental asset for the home, stairways should fulfill this dual function. In order to adapt to the home's configuration, as well as the demands of its occupants, there are many custom solutions, like the self-supporting staircase. This suspended model in wood is both contemporary, designer, and warm.

Custom form and movement... The contemporary stairway, whether it is in a simple form, like a quarter spiral, or more complex like a stairway with a central shaft offer multiple combinations with materials such as glass, metal, stainless steel, wood, or composite materials. Without banisters or railings, a simple straight line and the stairway become an architectural work of art. At Stepdesign, he brings together the sky and Earth in a diagonal, he invents modern and organic with an assertive design, he exposes himself in the invisibility of the stair attachments, or the faded colors in

the lighting of glass steps. The creation provides an unreal sensation, walking in weightlessness. In a more restricted space, curved stairways, unlike spiral staircases, don't revolve around a central axis. They can elegantly follow a an arched wall or rise majestically in the middle of a room. Secure thanks to its sturdy railing, the handrail gudes the eye of the person looking at it. Suspended, the curved staircase appears to defy the laws of gravity. Proposed in a combination of wood and metal, it is steadfastly contemporary, while fitting perfectly into a more traditional environment.

Metal Trend: The Die is Cast Long reserved for outdoor staircases due to its durability and resistance to foul weather, metal is moving from the patio to the living room. The outdoor staircase indubitably sets the tone for your residence's facade. In order to highlight it and not create any dissonnance, be sure to create an esthetic unity. In the pure French tradition, the artisanal craftsmanship of artistic ironworking makes it possible to get as close as possible to the style of the existing elements. In order to harmonize with a pergola, glass awning, or old-fashioned veranda, you can reproduce their style for your stairs, babisters, and railings.

Wrought iron is also making an appearance in living rooms. Giving structure to open spaces, the metal staircase is becoming a decorative element in its own right. Since steel makes it solid as a rock, it can prove to be an investment over multiple generations. Since metal makes it possible to obtain an architectural refinement that is impossible with wood, it can be molded into infinite models, thus making it possible to design stairways suited to your taste as well as to your room, and therefore to truly optimize your space.

Ornamental and majestic… Once the structure, form, and placement have been chosen, it is then a question of integrating the stairway with its surroundings. If your interior is already very

styled, you then have the option of using an ornamental element from your interior by incorporating materials and motifs used elsewhere in the banisters and railings. If the decor is too plain or neutral, you can give your stairway a majestic look by being highly original. Dacryl® decorative panels in cast acrylic, a high-end, very creative product, make it possible to imbed plants, minerals, textiles in the material and color of your choice, made to order, of course. The height of creativity… Creativity feeds on discussions, experiences, agreements, and disagreements. Fed by the alternation of solitude and group dynamic, inspiration moves forward, to solidify the biggest of projects. The ergonomics of current offices seek this movement, promote interactions, the mobility of bodies, coming together, and isolation. The "Mega Design" storage system by Huelsta, simple and functional, is modular and can be adapted to any environment. It offers individual workspaces, facing the same direction, to work alone or in a group. The desk surface is immaculate, clean, like a blank page where anything is possible.

The "conference" table and chairs by Coalesse advocate collective energy. In the center, the ultra-thin desk surface combines a stable, rectangular shape with rounded corners that facilitate the circularity of exchanges. The "lounge" chairs, lower and slung back more than ordinary office chairs, in a fluid netting, is somewhere between an office chair and living room chair. In a comfortable position to dream, or leaning forward to create, movement is facilitated, inventiveness circulates, from one person to another, with ease.

Bodily osmosis‌ Ergonomists, psychologists, specialists in proxemics, and practitioners of feng shui, all agree that our surroundings have an impact on our actions and thoughts. Since a British manager was able to give a new boost to his team, and keep his job in the process, simply by soundproofing the meeting room, designers and architects have been working hard to create spaces and furniture that promote the expression of skills and creativity. The body, in particular, is mobilized in the capacity for concentration and the expression of intuition, the quest for the big idea. A comfortable position, a work surface that awakens the senses, and harmonious lines

that give fluidity to ideas, while a restricted space or a busy nook will limit inspiration. The multitude of styles and materials let everyone find the office that will promote their pleasure and desire for action. The "AndrĂŠe" table, from the "Puzzle" collection by Hi-macs, playing with the infinite possibilities of acrylic stone, offers a free vision of the work space. Everything in it is modular. When pool shelters transform into living spaces‌ Given the choice, our swimming pool would always be outside, in order to take full advantage of the sun and nice weather. Unfortunately, this is not possible all year-round. That's why pool shelters were invented, to protect the pool from bad weather when it's not being used. A good shelter should ensure both safety and longevity of the pool in any season. These days, it is possible to enjoy your pool any time, thanks to the latest designer shelters, integrated directly with the house.

Having an indoor pool that opens up to the outside is now possible thanks to the convertible awning. Its glass walls can be opened in a few seconds to take advantage of the sun, or remain closed so you can swim anytime, while enjoying an unrestricted view of the yard. The wall shelter is another concept that is like an addition to your residence. The pool is outside, but is attached to it by an awning, which also serves as a shelter.

Different materials for different style

es‌ Pool shelters fulfill not just a safety and protection role; they also have an aesthetic function. That's why it is important to choose the

materials based on the style you are going for. Wood or aluminum, glass or polycarbonate, each has its own advantages.

Visit the site:www.abrisud.com

PAGE

90 Pool Shelters & Covers‌

Which materials should you choose? Appreciated for being lightweight, aluminum is commonly used for pool shelter structures. Easy to assemble, this material is alo long-lasting, because it is highly resistant to impacts, chlorine, and doesn't rust. Aluminum is therefore a wise choice for those who don't always have time to dedicate to pool shelter maintenance. More expensive, wood offers a look that is both authentic and refined. It goes quite well with a wooden pool deck. Since there are so many different wood species available, you can choose your pool shelter based on your budget and your taste. Essential

for keeping the water at a good temperature thanks to the greenhouse effect, glass lets you enjoy natural light in any season. However, it is heavy and also can be broken easily. This is not the case with polycarbonate, a synthetic glass that is popular due to being light and resistant to impacts and bad weather. Another advantage of polycarbonate is that it letts you maintain water quality, while blocking some of the sun's rays. These rays are the reason why algae appears at the bottom of the pool. This material has all the advantages of traditional glass, but without the drawbacks.

Short, tall, or in between, pool shelters provide a different style and rendering depending on their height. In any case, we are always looking for comfort, practicality, and looks. Greenhouse-style, telescoping, awning-style, sliding...Manufacturers offer several solutions.

A tall or short shelter, it's your choice More than a luxury, a pool shelter is first and foremost a necessity. From there, the choice of height and materials depends on the individual budget. Low shelters are less expensive. It can be a tarp, a little greenhouse, or a pool shutter. Their advantage? They cover just what they need to protect the pool from debris and bad weather, while leaving the deck clear. Without the slightest effort, the automatic pool shutter or curtain opens and closes in the blink of an eye.

Significantly more costly, pool shelters offer more possibilities in terms of design and esthetics. Designed like an awning: fixed, telescoping, or semi-telescoping, this shelter type provides an additional living space. In particular, tall shelters let you use the pool practically all year-round. And, since many different materials can be used to make them, there is a pool shelter for almost any budget.

Mobile shelters, a must…

MCOMMEMAISON INTERACTIVE - No. 11

There's nothing like enjoying your swimming pool your way. That's the advantage of mobile pool shelters. Sliding, telescoping, or retractable, these structures share all of the features of an awning.

Visit the site: www.verandarideau.com

PAGE

98 Pool Shelters & Covers‌

So many advantages! Sliding, retractable, and telescoping pool shelters all share one advantage in common: they let you uncover all or part of

the pool, since they are adjustable. Like an awning that is free-standing or flush against the house, they are esthetic, easy to use, and adapted to any height. Flush models are good for pools that form a right angle with the axis of the house. They make it possible to enter the pool area directly from the house. As for freestanding models, they offer all the advantages of an awning but without the drawbacks, and can be opened or closed as you wish.

Visit the site: www.sesamecover.com

And administrative formalities? Unlike short pool shelters, removable shelters, and pool shutters, tall pool shelters require a statement of work, and possibly a building permit, depending on the height and space required for them. This process is still mandatory for awnings larger than 20 m². Free-standing or flush against the house, shelters will change the outside appearance and volume of the home. However, it is possible to avoid the building permit process if the shelter is under 1.80m tall. MCOMMEMAISON INTERACTIVE - No. 11

She approaches different techniques like drawing, charcoal, and oil and acrylic paint. Today, Ghizlane LAZRAK is a contemporary artist who doesn't hide her attraction to expressionism and the abstract.Over the course of exhibitions and tests, the visual artist tries to create in her canvases a fascinating world where color is king. "I have a fondness for contemporary painting, expressionist or abstract. As I paint, my paintings make the decision for themselves. This unconscious communication with the canvas, shapes and colors develops an extraordinary energy in me that I try to transmit through my paintings," she explained. So it's not by chance that Starck distilled this style in little hints throughout the hotel. Other stylistic elements from this era, giant decorative panels welcome us, ethnic, animals, and always very beautiful. A bar,

To create the rooms, Philippe Starck channeled the ghost of Madame de Pompadour. The hip, stylish design reflects the sophistication of the old French aristocracy in naughty little winks of the eye, like mirrors on the ceiling. But don't worry, certain liberties were taken to embellish 18th century, using technology as discreet as it is practical.

The art of the unexpected, with a great sense of harmony, that's the secret of this very special place. For a meal in one of the restaurants or a drink in your room, luxury is hidden in the details, the fine materials, the crystal, marble, silver, all the objects are deliberately elegant and precious... but is it not from the bottle that the quality of the intoxication comes from?

124 Indoor pools and spas...

Spas for all styles‌ Indoor spas add a touch of luxury to any residence. Thanks to the variety of materials used to design the space and the variety of functions offered in the tubs themselves, today's spas are adapted to different styles: modern, contemporary, stylish, etc. Both natural and warm, wood is a material that lets you combine authentic ambiance and elegant style. For a cleaner, thoroughly stylish look, granite or polished concrete walls and floors evoke the re-

finement of the finest hotels and spas. Installed in an island in the middle of the room, the spa becomes a real design concept that can offer a maximum of comfort, equipped with headrests, audio systems, and an ambiant lighting system. If you have more space, you can build an awning to shelter a spa and an indoor pool. The advantage is being able to take advantage of the natural light, while enjoying an unrestricted view.

Installing a spa in a small space‌ Regardless of how much space you have available, there are always solutions for enjoying an indoor spa or pool in your home.

For small spaces, it is completely possible to install a spa in the bathroom. This space will then be dedicated to getting ready in the morning, relaxation, and well-being. What's more, privacy is guaranteed. So as not to monopolize all the space, the ideal solution is to install an angled tub. After that, everything is a question of decoration and lighting. For the flooring and wall covering, it is preferable to choose materials that mimic wood or stone. And to create a filtered, relaxing ambiance, opt for mood lighting..

Chromatherapy, a bonus to give youself‌ A massage session in the tub can provide psychological and emotional benefits when combine with chromatherapy. With just a click, you can activate underwater spotlights built into the tub. Like a rainbow, these spotlights can give off multiple colors, that you can choose as you wish or as the mood dictates. Keep in mind that colors have an emotional influence, and we tend to associate a color with a particular state. Green for finding balance, blue for calm and serenity, red to boost your energy, and orange for a moment of happiness. It's enough to transform a spa session into an original experience! They took the chance... The grandfather clock revisited… Sylvain Delapré, a clockmaker specializing in mechanism repair, designs and manufactures contemporary clocks and grandfather clocks, each one unique, from new or existing mechanisms (salvaged from a family clock, for example). In the late 19th, century, the grandfather clock, originating in the Franche Comté region, made its appearance in homes and was a great success. Today, its tall shape and rustic style are no longer in line with current decoration trends, but the memories it evokes gives it a sentimental value. Originally, Sylvain Delapré repaired mechanisms. Then, from mechanisms he moved on to creation, in order to give new home interiors clocks and grandfather clocks that have been updated to current tastes and to maintain a part of French heritage and culture. For example, in his latest creation, he built a totally new face for an existing grandfather clock mechanism. The hands were cut by laser, the case made from glass, like a display box, giving life to the mechanism with its transparency. The lower part is in welded tube, with patina, making the clock dominate the living room. www.heure-creation.fr
