t has been such a whirlwind year no doubt since the COVID-19 pandemic struck, we hope that you have been keeping well and safe. We had to put the publication on a hiatus, and here we are one year later, it is only befitting that we resume with exciting announcements as we build back greater. In this special issue, we are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting the LUXURY LIVING & DESIGN EXPO, our first socially-distanced three-day expo will be held at the rooftop parking from 9th July to 11th July 2021. This pandemic certainly proved that our lived in and work environment matters a great deal – not only our physical but also mental well-being since we spent a considerable amount of time cooped up indoors. This expo is about the good life. Feel free to visit the expo space, you will certainly be inspired. In this issue, we feature Kenya’s finest architects, developers, interior and exterior designers showcasing a rich and sensory experience during the expo. They will be showcasing the best in property development, state-of-the-art spaces, innovative products, concept stores and showrooms. As part of the experience, the event centre is a dedicated platform that will be the innovation exchange hub for living design workshops and talks. The expo also provides a one-stop platform for professional and commercial networking and a space to meet your potential partners for your various home, recreational, green or office projects. Lastly, we have put in place stringent measures for COVID-19 sanitation and prevention protocols to ensure a safe environment for you our visitors and partners, we also request you to play your part and ensure that you always mask up, adhere to the 2-metre social distancing protocols and sanitize as often as possible . ith an ever-growing purchasing power within the population of Kenya, the luxury industry has pivoted over the years and has become more attractive than ever before. Millennials and Gen Z are also both driving growth and redefining the luxury market. This indicates a strong and upcoming economy within the country that is something very encouraging to see. Since travel has taken a back seat due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Kenyans and Africans will tend to splurge more on their home turf. Within the next five years more luxury brands – both local and international – will showcase interest to exhibit in countries like Kenya that have the expertise to host the Luxury & Lifestyle event to global standards. unny Daze was founded and started in a small part of Mombasa, where our founder discovered his passion for crafts and design. Almost 30 years later, Sunny Daze has grown into one of the foremost furniture design houses in Africa, with clientele spanning the globe. With years of expertise, we pride ourselves in furnishing commercial and home spaces with furniture adaptable to all weather conditions and climatic changes, which is why we truly believe in investing in lifetime pieces which can be found at our showrooms in Nairobi and Mombasa and delivered across East Africa. Our display includes “ready-to-go” indoor and outdoor furniture made with an array of

materials including timbers, metal, glass and most recently synthetic rattan with our sister company Tara Designs. Tara Designs was founded for the expansion of design and materials, and can be found in several home and commercial spaces alongside Sunny Daze. In addition to our items on display, we believe in our clientele vision, which led to our bespoke services.

stablished 35 years ago, Mczam K LTD has been operating in Kenya and East Africa in the hotel industry providing excellent and sustainable furniture across the region. The company has had the privilege of working with some of the best hotels in the region such as Sarova, Sopa and Serena. The company has since diversified to bring this same level of excellence to homes across the region. ‘Our massive 20,000 sq ft facility allows us to create, design and work on large-scale projects all at once using the latest in CNC technology. This

allows us to prototype better and develop to meet our client expectations,’ said Hamza Mughal, proprietor of Mczam Kenya Ltd. He continued: “we take care of our customers’ requirements and needs and aim to have all items suited to their own personal taste and style. Developing bespoke items takes time, however, but the end result is always satisfactory for both the artisans and the receivers of the items.’ The showroom is fitted with a complete design centre to tailor the experience of designing and selecting furniture finishes while the upholstery is suited to whatever the individual requires.
