2. Dear Kidzera,

I think we should have Avatars! We could create them online and they could be shown on our profile, and maybe next to our work! -enilorak

3. I like the avatar idea. I think we should also have a little

profile blurb thingy in our streams, so something like “favorite quote” or “favorite book” or “about me” you know, something simple, and the avatar goes along with that. -KCG PorcelainIris

4. I have got a great idea! Why not set

up some games to play! that would be wonderful! some games could be for girls and the rest will be for boys. This is just to get rid of boredom in people... -Tarisha S.

It felt like 12 years had waltzed by, Then, all of a sudden, the illusion shattered. I saw an orange smear of something Shoot across the night sky, Like a painter smears a canvas. It felt surreal, I could feel myself drifting up towards the night sky, And no matter what was happening in the world, No matter who had just died, Or who was just born, Or who just took their first steps, Or who just took their last breath, No matter what I was doing, Nothing could stop me. I’m in my room, so dirty. I’m feeling so lonely and bored. As I go to the living room, I see millions of boxes and packages. All full of goods going to the orphanage. All for good. Suddenly the word leaving comes to my mind and sadness and grief I feel. Oh! Leaving all these wonderful memories behind, but of course I’ll cherish them all life long. Letting go and leaving are not really what I like to do, but what can I do? I take out the albums and look at the pictures—pictures of me, my parents, our house and our trips. I shed a few single tears and put back the albums. I know I’ll always have those memories deep in my heart.

It started out a Nothingness. With dense obscurity, the divine race of what creatures are now was but a dream. A dim illusion of a ghastly figure, one that controlled time, one that controlled life; life that ceased to exist. Slumber was an activity until there was light and a lot of it, at that. And as his imagination was no longer fictional, a tree started to grow. Submitted by: Elle P., Age 12, Bak Middle School of the Arts, West Palm Beach, Florida

My heart is racing, faster than me running. I try to catch up, but when I run, the roads are endless. I look up in the sky, there’s nothing but blank and I’m trying to remember... I forget. I open my eyes, and a bird flies by. Now I know—my heart is inside. Everything seems brighter than before, it was a dream, one I’ve been waiting for. What is Writing? Submitted by: Eva B., Age 11, Albany Middle School, Albany, California

What is writing? Is it a distinguished art form where the creator may express their feelings and imagination in a way that the world can understand? Or is it merely a pawn of humans, a way to communicate in a separate way, rather than to speak face to face, in fear of wasting breath? The world is full of words. Letters float in the air, while ink runs through the rivers and streams, both waiting to be plucked and gathered, and to be turned into something great. Anyone can harvest the possibilities for a masterpiece; therefore, anyone can create a written masterpiece. Poets may use words as a window to another world, while children may use them playfully. Words live in the hearts of people, young and old. Imagination and letters together can create wonder; without them, we would never see into the windows of the future, the past or the mind of an author on the other side of the world. Floating on a sea of imagination, words can make the evil change their ways, and the good accomplish the great. No one starts their life out reading, but everyone who learns to read can learn to understand. Writing is the gateway to a meadow of emotion and understanding, and for the reader, is the door to the writer’s thoughts, feelings, heart and soul. This is what I believe writing truly is.

WASH WISH DISH Story submitted by: creativegirlever

Once upon a time there, was a hideous, old woman. She was a dowager and lost everything when her house was burnt to ashes in a terrible fire. The old woman was shattered about her loss. She decided to become a beggar so she could have enough food to eat. The widow found a dirty dish when she was out begging for food one day. She said to herself, “I will use this dish to beg.” She walked up the hill with the dish in her hands and she washed it in the well up on the grassy knoll near her begging spot. While she was washing the dish, it started to speak to her. It said, “I am a wishing dish. If you wish for something when you are washing me, your wishes will come true!” The widow was over the moon; she could not believe her ears. She kept on washing and wishing until she had her old house back and everything else she needed for a life filled with happiness and home comforts. The widow had a daughter called Diana, who made beautiful crafts, books and paintings. She sold them by her house in the field, near the town gates. It was next to the forest where there was a wonderful spring waterfall and big trees, which gave ripe, juicy fruits. The forest was magnificent and quite spectacular. Anyone who stepped into it could feel and understand all of nature’s beauty, strength and power. Now, unfortunately, Diana was just as ugly as her mother. But she was very intelligent. She could read, write and create the most amazing things to sell. She could also cook wonderful sorts of food and kept her house spick and span. She was caring, thoughtful and kind to everyone. Diana was truly golden-hearted, but because of how she looked, nobody would marry her. The widow had asked the magic dish to make her daughter beautiful, but the dish said she would lose all her wonderful qualities if the old woman wished for beauty. The old woman loved her daughter’s golden heart too much to make this wish. One day, when the old woman was going for a walk, she overheard someone saying the prince was very sick and whoever could cure him would be offered his hand in marriage. This gave the old woman an idea. She immediately went to her daughter’s house and told her that she was to go to the palace and tell the king she could cure the prince. “You shall go to the prince’s room where you will wash the wishing dish. You will wish for the prince to be cured of his illness. After that, you must tell the king that the prince is cured and ask for the prince’s hand in marriage as your reward.” Diana listened carefully to what her mother said and the following morning Diana set off for the palace. She wore a silky velvet cloak to hide her face so nobody could see how ugly and hideous she was. She took a brown basket which contained the enchanted dish and some food to eat on her long journey, as the palace was very far from where Diana lived. After a while, Diana stopped to eat her breakfast, then she kept walking. It was dark when Diana arrived near the palace, and she decided to stay in a tavern for the night. The next morning, while eating her breakfast, she read in the newspaper that a big mansion was robbed, burnt and all the people inside the mansion had died—even the small children. Diana felt so sad when she read this, but there was nothing she could do. As she set off again for the palace, she thought of all the things she would be able to do when she Drawing submitted by: cartoongirl was married to the prince, and all the people she could help. Diana thought if she was the princess, everyone would value her ideas and opinions. She could help the poor and they, in turn, would treat her with honor and respect. After another long walk, she finally reached the castle. She told the guards it was her intention to cure the prince. They took her straight to the king and told him that she had come to take care of the ill prince. Diana was shown to the prince’s chamber. She quietly entered the room and saw the sick prince lying in his bed. She went into the bathroom, turned on the tap, took the dish out from her basket and washed it, wishing the prince was healed. In his bed, the prince sat up and called for the guards, who immediately brought the king in. When the king saw his son, the prince, awake and cured, he was so happy he ordered his subjects to organize the prince’s wedding to Diana. Diana turned out to be a great, loyal and wonderful queen who improved the town and looked after its people well. Her magnificent talents and qualities inspired many other women. The prince grew to love his new wife too, because of her caring nature and kindness to all. Soon the prince and Diana had a pair of beautiful twin daughters, who were like their mother, and shared all her wonderful qualities. Diana’s mother, the old woman, lived with Diana at the palace, and she helped to look after her granddaughters. Oh, and what happened to the magic dish? Well, the dish was a priceless family heirloom and was kept in a special glass case for the entire kingdom to see.

I realized something today.

Thoughts on...PASSION

Nothing comes from nothing. You can’t just draw to draw or dance to dance. It has to be something that you are passionate for. Otherwise, what you do is empty. Your passion is what you LOVE to do. I love to dance and draw. Everything in my dance I love and perform full out, enjoying all of it! When it came to my artwork, I just did it to do it. I had no spark whatsoever. Now that I realize that I have to draw, or paint, or whatever, what I enjoy. My heart goes into my passion. My main message is, do what you really like! There is nothing holding you back. Be you, and have fun doing it! -PomieK

Thoughts on...MUSIC

Why are people listening to Justin B, 1D, and selena gomez?

I mean they are catchy pop singers, but no one should act like they are the best singers ever! They should not be called vocalists. I agree 1D is cute, but they are not people we should “worship” or whatever. What happened to good songs with lyrics that mean something? Like Queen, Celine Dion, Adele, Tori Kelly, etc. Ugh. So, that would be the end of my rant. Thank you, -little-ms-diva

Bangladesh is an Asian country where all people work hard and are always happy.

Thoughts on...PLACE

The country is mostly a village country with many trees. It is a small country. Dhaka is the national city of Bangladesh. Many Muslims live there. Cox’s Bazaar is a fantastic beach on the corner end of Bangladesh. Long ago, Pakistan and Bangladesh were one country. Bangladesh was called East Pakistan at that time. East Pakistan had their own language called Bengali and West Pakistan had their own language called Urdu. One day, the prime minister of West Pakistan said, “This is not fair, the West Pakistanis have one language and the East Pakistanis have another! I declare that East Pakistanis follow Urdu as their language!” This was not fair for Bangladesh and so they started a language war. Bangladesh won and they became separated from Pakistan. They are now two countries. -Tarisha S.

Thoughts on...NAMES

What is your name? Why is it important?

It is a gift, it is part of you, it is a symbol of your individuality. Names are one of the most important things we are given when we are a child. It is given with love and life, and our names make us who we are. Sometimes we hide our names behind masks, fake names and nicknames, like my name: “Keca Love.” Who am I? I am an amazing artist, and so is everyone else on KidzEra. I am proud of my “true name” and you should be proud of yours as well. There is a story behind every name, and it adds to our individual selves. So, what is your name? -Keca love
