The Orthodox Synagogue

The Orthodox Synagogue, built in the 1930s on Pushkinova Street, was recently refurbished on the initiative of the local Jewish community. The most important monument is the compound of the Jewish Orthodox community, which still partially serves the needs of the local community. The compound is located in the historical core of Košice, part of the city, which was built in the middle of the 19th century on the site of former city walls. Urban tower

The House of Beggar

The tower was built in the 15th century in Košice as a Gothic bell tower called Red Tower. It was destroyed in 1556 by fire, but immediately restored in the Renaissance style. The next century saw the bell of St. Urban being placed in the tower as the main sound source.

It was originally a Gothic house from the 14th century, rebuilt several times in the 18th century. In 1720 and 1760 it was rebuilt again. Its last reconstruction was in 1898 in a charming RomanticArt Nouveau style with an allegorical mural by the painter Július Éder from Košice. This allegorical mural was hidden for decades under the plaster of an inappropriate reconstruction from 1956. The building was completely reconstructed and allegorical mural uncovered in 1995.
